I read your posts and I sometimes get it but thn again they are their helping get those people who try to ignore there bills to pay. And I also doubt that they get the numbers from the sky, If they are collecting unpaid bills then that means the person who stole "the identity" used their phone number to and how are they suppose to know. They are great when I have called, its just the attitude the person who they are calling answers with. If you are rude then I believe they can also be rude. And with the whole not talking to a personwithout verifying is due to HIPPA. Google that!! read more

This company has been bothering me for months over a small bill and I repeatedly have told the it was covered by a charitable contribution from the original medical provider. They asked me to fax them a copy which is not convenient for me to do. Instead I offered to jpeg attach it to an email to them. They keep giving me erroneous email addresses to which the mail bounces. They only want to hear from you if you are sending money. read more

I was handling medical bills for my dad. Faxed in authorization to negotiate his bill. Having worked 10 years in collections, I understand how stressful a job it can be being yelled at all the time by customers on a daily basis. I also know how bad and ruthless collectors can be. As such I understood what it feels like to be on either side of the phone. I was patient, I was respectful...However, in my 2 interactions w/this company, I found the representatives to be unsympathetic, unempathic, disorganized, etc... you name it. One of them was downright rude--didn't address me, didn't acknowledge receipt of fax, placed me on hold several times, cut me off multiple times, gave me lots of pushback and refused to transfer me to a manager, then hung up on me...by the end of the call my blood pressure was thru the roof and I felt subhuman by the treatment. Meanwhile here I am still trying to be professional and not ruin her day. When you interact w/people by phone, it's important to have people skills. The other collection agencies have been great with me. Having worked in the industry I know that you get training on customer service and empathy, especially for medical bills. The fact that this company doesn't seem to exhibit those things indicates a toxic environment where the culture of the company rests only on $ signs. Way to do business...I was trying to pay a bill, now I won't. Just means more money to settle his other bills, thanks for nothing. read more

Beware! Beware! Beware! Awful, rude and unprofessional customer services. They hung up on me while I was still talking to them because I wanted to figure out why I got this outstanding balance and yet I had never received the billing statement from the clinic that I received treatment from. I already paid copay while I went to the clinic. If there was any outstanding balance, I expected it would come as a bill from the clinic. If the insurance company has ever sent me anything, it was only an explanation of claim and not a billing statement. The people at CMRE only cares about getting the money and not offering any services. They even said that when I received the explanation of claim from my insurance company I should've paid for amount I owed which was stated on the explanation of claim. That's so untrue. Usually you can find in big font on the letter saying "This is an explanation of claim and not a bill". They asked for my number to return call if the call got cut off but they didn't call me back after they hung up on me. So what's the point of getting the number. read more

Terrible customer service. 19 days ago I faxed to them the Power of Attorney documents they said they needed to even speak to me as the representative of the client being collected on. Called back 11/3, was on hold forever, then someone did answer. I "somehow" got disconnected after being on hold for 7 or 8 minutes. Called right back and got another collector who said they hadn't put the faxed documents into their system yet. Ok. Called back 11/7 as she suggested, left a voice message with name, case # and my phone # and got no return call. Same on 11/10. Same on 11/14. On 11/17 she answered the phone -- very snotty. Said "Is there a number where I can call you back in case we get disconnected?" Before I could finish saying my number... click. Dial tone. Nice. Called again 11/8 and got a different person. I explained about the earlier calls and her records showed several (not not all) of them. No "I'm so sorry -- what can I do to help you?" Just said she would have to snail mail an invoice showing the balance they say is due, as I have no bills here that haven't been paid and want to see what I'm sending them a check for. I might have it in a few days. I have kept a record of every call, the names of all the people I spoke to, and the result of each call. Hope the manager of this group will be more helpful and responsive than their employees. read more

This is an illegal scam and we are in the process of contacting the attorney generals office. My husband had a surgery early this year. All the doctor and hospital bills were paid off by early summer. I never received a notice in the mail from CMRE, they simply dinged my credit report for $396. I called the company and they want all my personal information and social security number before I can even ask what this charge is for. I think they somehow find out about hospital, Doctor charges and do this to thousands of people. That is probably why the dollar amounts are relatively small hoping that it will be too expensive to hire an attorney and because our credit scores seem to have such a hold over us, that we will simply pay to have the charge removed. This is a scam... If our credit scores dictate everything about us in life, how can any fake company just ruin our credit without cause and proof?? Shame on the credit reporting services. I am working with them to investigate this fraudulent charge. read more

I had cleared up an old emergency room medical bill through CMRE back in 2011. Took forever because the doctor had been billing my insurance using the wrong code and CMRE wasn't interested in getting to the merits, only using the threat of credit ruining to get the bill paid. Finally, the insurance company assisted and the bill paid in full. Now I find out, over a year later, that CMRE claims $18.75 still owing, which they'd jacked up to a $31 balance showing on my credit report. Calling CMRE resulted in them disconnecting the call on the first attempt, and then dealing with a self-righteous, disinterested person on the second attempt to straighten out the matter. To get back to work and stop beating my head against the wall with these guys, I paid the bill (which they'd upped to $32.78 between the first and 2d call). When I asked why they hadn't sent any bills in over a year, the rep's response was it was too costly! Bottomline: power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, and CMRE is further proof of that adage. read more

My medical bill was turned over to collections just after my insurance company and my medical provider cannot comply with the terms of my insurance coverage and i wasn't notified of this till i noticed a bill from my medical provider which was supposedly covered by insurance,it was overcharged and sent to my collection without me knowing,i wish FICO new assessment will cover this practice between the medical provider and insurance companies ,this happening really affected my credit score which i needed to get a car loan,after many attempts writing and calling the hospital to have the bill adjusted and my insurer to have it removed from my collections or to work out a payment method which proved abortive, I contacted an attorney who wanted $1000 upfront to represent me for bankruptcy till a my account manager gave me an off the book advice to contact an hacker who was able to overturn my medial bill from the hospital and radiology company and help raise my credit score to where i needed it to be in less than two weeks, hackhemp(@)gmail(.)com help repaired my credit and raised my credit score above 783 am sure this can help anyone here.you can thank me later. read more

0 stars. I got a automated voice message last week asking me to call. When I did I was told I had an outstanding $25 balance that was in collections. I called the company who had issued the original bill to find out what was going on and after getting everything worked out was told the bill had been sent to collections back in April, 2016. It's late September, 2016. When I called CMRE back to pay the bill, I asked why they had waited six months to contact me. The agent initially ignored my question and kept asking for information. When I asked again, she curtly replied "we sent documentation" and again redirected the conversation. When I persisted for an explanation, she said that they had sent documentation back in April and if I wanted proof I would have to sue them and subpoena the proof (yes, that's literally what she said). After seeing all the other reviews where folks had much the same experience, I can't help but conclude that these folks are dishonest and lacking in integrity. read more

Today I called CMRE to ask information about my account, the girl that answers the phone said "give me your cmre account number" and I said "before giving you the account number, please dont transfer me to another person, I just need some information" and she said, "Hello, hello, hello..." and hang on me. Called again and she said the same words. She hang on me 4 times that I attempted the call. Again I called and she said "Give me your cmre account number" and I said "yes; but dont transfer my call" and she said "I found your account with your phone number" and I said "how disrespectfull you are" and she hang the phone again. In one attempt they transfer me with Jeanie Ayala, and she has the inbox recording message that she will call back. And I'm still waiting...What can we do when we owe a debt and the only resource we have is this? First call I did 08:51 a.m. last call 10:41 a.m. My ear hurts and I spend a lot of minutes in my cell phone. read more

this company just contacted me today - it was almost exactly two weeks to the day AFTER I paid my medical balance IN FULL and, in fact, am waiting for a refund as they overcharged me. first, they put me on hold, then a doofus named michael asked me to confirm my date of birth. i said no, as i had no idea who he was and asked him to identify himself. he told me he was from cmre and the call was concerning "a medical matter." he refused to clarify further until i supplied him with my date of birth and i said i wanted to know exactly what his call was in reference to. he told me to have a nice day and hung up. i suspect i haven't heard the last of this; i double-checked with the hospital today and my balance is still ZERO!!! going to be applying for pharmacy school this summer, though, and have a feeling that if this crap is on my credit report it will cause me a hassle. anybody have any advice?? it would be much appreciated!!! read more
