Waited for over an hour to the point that every other restaurant in the area was slammed and I had a hangry toddler. I understand that people weren't moving. We were seated, excited and ready to order. We waited 10 mins for a waiter to come to our table. I flagged a waiter and asked to send our wait staff. He said he didn't know who our waiter was and went to look for him or her. Nobody came. I asked the hostess. Nothing. I asked to speak to a manager. This is 20 mins after sitting. Magically the same waiter who was not our waiter appeared and is now our waiter. When I spoke to the manager we were comped an appetizer. We ordered drinks and then were told they were out of cups and waiting for more. So half our table didn't have drinks. 1 hour since sitting... no food. And now I am sitting, waiting to see what happens next. This is a ridiculous level of disorganized chaos. I will never return. And I hope you don't come here either. read more

I ordered to pick up and the food was great. The curry laksa was the best. The soup included abundant vegetables and I couldn't stop eating. The hanoi noodle is a great choice for curry lover. I didn't expect about com chien, which is regular fried rice but it was good too. There was a problem for one of dishes, they add chicken instead of beef I ordered. I called them and the manager solved the issue right away. Their service is great as well! read more

The food was better this time! So, that was a plus, but the place was soooo dirty! There were multiple pieces of trash under each table outside. I mean food, large used napkins, chop sticks wrappers - very gross! I mentioned something to the hostess that was seating us. She said she could sweep that up. She never came back nor did any of the other tables with trash under them get cleaned up. It was like the people working there had blinders on to the trash/ mess/ dirtiness. My girlfriend and I came to Co after receiving a gift card. The restaurant is fairly small, but clean. Our server was friendly and attentive. Co is an Asian fusion place, and has your typical Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc. offerings. I opted to try something different and go for the Vietnamese ramen. It tasted to me like pho broth with ramen ingredients. Pretty much what I expected. My girlfriend had the drunken Thai noodles. Noodles were slightly undercooked and the chicken was overcooked. The prices are just too high for the kind of food they're serving. Honestly we had a pretty mediocre experience, and Co does nothing to stand out from other Asian fusion restaurants. read more

I walked in and saw the 90 sanitation rating and I was hesitant but the resturant was clean and everything looked up to par. We were seated immediately. It took awhile for our server to come but our food came out rather quickly. I ordered the pork and ginger dumplings. They were pretty good. I also ordered the tuna tacos and asked that they remove the jalapenos. The tacos were good but were spicy. This place was pretty cool. I think we'll be back. read more

Service animal does not need to wear something that says service animal. Also you don't have to show documentation of your dog being one nor can they ask what is it for. This is for North Carolina. I was denied entry due to the managers personal reasons not allowing my dog, who is a teacup yorkie that is quiet, inside the restaurant. most likely due to her and staff not wanting to seat us when they close an hour and a half later. I even offered to show my card for my service animal. which she denied to see. other management allowed it when my mother came here multiple occasions with zero issues. despicable. definitely not animal friendly. Ps. She made no sense to have only a dog to wear a vest that says service animal which means she'll allow any animal that is not certified that wears those words, inside. read more

Staff won't even address what is taking so long either. There are 10+ open tables too so it's not that they were slammed either. Very disappointing for my first experience with this restaurant. Nice eclectic restaurant in Waverly place. There is plenty of parking and tons of shoos. Outside the place are adult swing sets and sitting areas. Attentive staff that were friendly. Good food! Had the crab Rangoon which was delicious with my spicy roll. Tasted my sisters soup which was flavorful. They only have one restroom. For each sex....whomp whomp. It was clean. I will return. OMG!!! This restaurant is for the seen to be seen. I met Fantasia there with her kids having a pleasant meal. The curry shrimp is to die for please ask for extra toasts as you'd need it. Sit outdoors to enjoy the ambiance. Love love love this little spot. read more

Definitely not as good as it could be. The sushi was nothing to call him about probably the same quality as a Mr. Tokyo. However, the crab spring rolls were very good. The ambience was very loud, and I think they could change the vibe of the place to match the quality of the food. I love Asian and decided instead of driving 35 minutes to my favorite pho place I would try CO which is a lot closer. I ordered online and the process was easy. Pickup was easy and everything was packed good, there was no leakage. First thing I noticed was there are no onions given with the pho, and they put my beef into the broth! Which meant that it I had pretty tough beef in my pho. I also noticed the broth was very dark. There is def something off with the flavor. It's got way too much star anise and something else. Almost tastes like Indian. I've never not finished a bowl of pho in my life. I ate all the particulates and tossed the broth. My husband said the bahn mi was good but was smaller than your average bahn mi. My kids loved the gyoza, and I also got an order of fresh rolls that were okay. I won't be back - the search for the best pho close to me continues. I've let an hour pass and I'm honestly grossed out by the taste of the pho. I had to update my original review - $50 for muck water bad tasting pho is not worth it. read more

Their Pho is sweetened with a lot of sugar and yesterday I sat for 10 minutes while the waitress was joking and kidding with her friends instead of taking my order. Definitely a solid option for those looking to satisfy a sushi fix on the south side of town, as Ballantyne has long suffered from too many mediocre at best sushi restaurants, but Co is without a doubt a step above the status quo, as the food, service and drinks were all solid, and I highly recommend you give them a shot if you are in the area. read more

Food has improved a lot over the years but the service has declined quite a bit. On a Saturday evening the restaurant was not even half full and still waiters didn't bother to look at you when we called for them. No wonder it was half empty on a Saturday evening. Happened to be exploring at the mall and stopped by with family for lunch. Great ideas on the menu here, and the items we tried were good (as background, we are very well versed in Asian foods). The best items we had were the spicy pho (good flavoring, nice kick, quality ingredients), curry laksa (slightly spicy, some of us thought it was a tad too sweet but others thought it was perfect), and Hanoi noodles (a bit sweet for us adults but younger kids loved it). Kids loved the pork and crab spring rolls. They were not crazy about the mango summer rolls probably because they prefer savory fresh rolls, but parents happily ate what the kids left. These were particularly good with the peanut sauce. We didn't have any drinks this time but would come back to try them. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and are glad to have tried CO! read more

I live 5 minutes from CO and through laziness we have eaten here many times...never again. From their absurd takeout mandate (you may only order takeout over the phone for orders under $50....this is a problem bc their online ordering process really....and i mean really...sucks) to the food quality this place has really begun to mail it in. Two of the sushi rolls literally stunk...we eat sushi all the time and couldn't eat any of it. The rolls that had shrimp were almost as bad...they left the tails on the shrimp, not as decoration...just sloppily inside the rolls. Hate to spread bad news but if you want sushi in south charlotte try somewhere else. read more

I'm smitten with CO! We've been for both dinner and Happy Hour and we had great experiences and meals for both. We also went in with a group of 6 and everyone agreed that the atmosphere, food, and drinks are all fantastic! Over the course of a few visits, I've tried the Pork Belly Bun, Garlic Sesame Tuna Taco, Chicken Katsu Bahn Mi, Pork Belly Bahn Mi, Drunken Noodles, Spicy Pulled Pork Tacos, and a few of their drinks. I've tried a few of their cocktails, but I keep going back to Aperol Goldeneye....it's Pinapple(y) Goodness that shouldn't be missed! Sadly, there are a few consistencies that are forcing me to give 4 stars instead of 5. The Chicken Katsu is always overcooked and dry as a bone! They use WAAAAAAYYYYY too much Cilantro...even for this Cilantro lover! The servers need some serious retraining on how to deliver and collect plates from tables. Every server that we've had so far has been super friendly, but why do they insist on serving over people's heads and pass plates in front of one person to get to another? Seriously?!? For the life of me....WHY is it so difficult to match the items you order with the receipt stapled to the bag when you order takeout from here?? The receipt even had check marks next to the items on the receipt for items that were NOT IN THE BAG?? Serious question...can they not read? If not then i take all of this back and question management why they have someone filling orders who can't read. If they can then it's just laziness and poor work ethic. This is NOT an inexpensive place to eat so when you have to RETURN once to tell them they put the wrong food in the bag and wait for them to make the right food only to get home and they still substitute a kids sushi roll of for your $15 tuna tataki roll...I mean Only 3 stars because the food IS good but the kitchen and hosts are pretty blank. All sorts of Asian foods (and mixed experiences) Okay so I'm very conflicted on this place. The menu covers Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, and even a bit of Korean. For those looking to try or get introduced to a variety of different foods from different Asian cultures I could recommend this place. However, the taste of the food is also just as diverse. Out of the 4 dishes we ordered, 2 were surprisingly fantastic and 2 were pretty terrible. +The Crab Rangoon ($5) - Flavorful, well sized, just crispy and sauced enough. It was delightfully portioned and pretty darn good. +++The Masa Ramen ($14) - Holy cow! I go out of my way to eat ramen in every city I visit. I was not expecting to find such a good, clean, and well-balanced ramen here. It comes with a good portion of noodles and corn and the pork belly (which is dry in the buns) was actually very moist and delicious. Usually I go to Futo Buta for my ramen cravings when I'm in Charlotte but I may start coming here once in a while. -Curry Shrimp ($8) - Shrimp tastes low quality, curry was subpar, and the bread (which was extra buttery) seemed to be doing its own thing. -Pork Belly Buns ($6) - The most depressing looking (and possibly tasting) pork buns I've ever had. The buns felt like plastic and there were hardly any vegetables to add substance or balance to the bun. CO must be short for come over because the Asian fusion here calls for foodies like me and you! The atmosphere is cool and casual, but still with a modern and prestige ambience. I am yet to try the sushi, but the tuna tacos and and poke bowls are superb. If fish could drown, they'd drown in the delicious flavor of these dishes. read more

We stumbled upon this new spot last minute for dinner this week, and I am so glad we gave it a try. The dumplings are perfect to try as an appetizer. Try the beef and kimchi, they were delish. The Pho Ga was THE BEST...shredded chicken and herbs in a beef broth. If you like Pho then this one is for you. Maybe CO will turn out to be a good restaurant but it is not yet there. As others noted the entrance is terrible as the front door feels like a side door with no real entrance. We arrived at 11:15 for lunch with only one other group there. My wife and I waited 10 minutes for drinks and it never improved from there. Even when the Server noted my drink was empty and she would be right back with a refill, it took 15 minutes and I was already done with my meal. The steamed pork buns had good flavor but the pork was over cooked and tough. My wife's pho was ok. My pork belly bahn mi was terrible. There was so little meat or veggies inside every bite was basically bread. I eat bahn mi and/or pho several times a week at two other restaurants in Charlotte and this was beyond crazy. At $9.50 the sandwich should be at least ok, this was the worst bahn mi I have ever had. The pictures show how little was inside. One "half" had one bite of meat and the other half had little more. There was more meat in the appetizer steamed buns than in the bahn mi. I hope Co does other dishes well and bahn mi is just a menu filler. Again, my wife said the beef pho was fine so there may be hope. For me, even living only 5 minutes away is not enough for me to return. This was my first time visiting Co When we first walked in, we were confronted by a hostess with the phone up to her ear. It was tough to tell if she was talking to us or to a customer on the phone. They took our number and quoted us our wait time. We went ahead and walked around outside for a little until we received a call that our table was ready - quicker than we were quoted. When we sat down, we were given the chance to order our drinks. We got a water and a lychee iced tea. He water was great. The tea tasted amazing - however - it was only about 5 sips and it was gone. The glass was mostly ice. At $3 for a drink like this, you'd assume it would come with refills... Unfortunately, that was not the case. Overall throughout the meal, there was a theme of things being under seasoned. If it weren't for the hot sauce provided, everything would have been really bland. We ordered the pork belly buns and the spring rolls as an appetizer. There were two pork belly buns and 2 spring rolls cut in half. They were ok. I've certainly had much better at other restaurants and made at home. For our meals, I had the masa ramen and my girlfriend had the Pad Thai. Again, both under seasoned. This is the first time I have seen corn in ramen, and it didn't quite jive for me. The garlic they added was over cooked, so it gave off that burnt garlic fragrance and a bitterness throughout the dish. The noodles seem to be instant ramen noodles that they've used - far from the quality of ramen you can get at other places around town. We started with Crab Rangoons, likely the best I've ever had with non-imitation crab. The sauce they served it with was devine, I had to restrain myself from licking the plate. Moving on to pork belly buns...again super satisfying. I chose for my meal a noodle bowl, generously filled with noodles veggies and chicken. YUM! My daughter ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp sushi. Don't order take out. The dine in customers are priority and your ticket gets pushed back. The first time I ordered to go, I thought they were just having a bad night Tonight, I was working in the neighborhood and decided to order to go again. I waited patiently for 45 min, watching several tables order after me and get their food before me. While I was waiting, 2 other customers were also getting impatient. When I inquired, how much longer, the hostess said they were almost done. 20 min later, still waiting. At this point, I asked the hostess to cancel my order. She went to get the manager who then brought what they had prepared. Fine. I get home and realized they charge a to go fee? Pretty sneaking since there wasn't a sign to inform customers. So basically I tipped a hostess that couldn't care less AND got charged a to go fee so I can wait over an hour for mediocre food?! Clearly they do not want you to order to go. You are better off sitting down, ordering from a server, then ask for boxes. You would get charged less and quicker service. read more

We came here for takeout, and while the food was good, the portions, prices and wait time are what makes this a 3 stars for me. We placed an order for 3 people which came to over $80. I was expecting to be blown away. When we placed the order, we asked for a later time for pickup bs the 15-20 mins she said (a lot of time to get it ready). When I arrived at the time I said I would be there, I had to wait an additional 20 mins to receive my food. The hot stuff was cold and the sushi was like warm. Now I know this is a swanky fusion place, so I should have known better, but I was a bit disappointed in the portion sizes for the crab rangoon and gyoza. Warning! The orange sauce they give you is knock your socks off hot haha. Tasty but omg get ready to cry a little! The ambiance is actually pretty cool. Taste tested the pork sandwich appetizer (don't remember the name), n it was tasty but a bit too sweet for my palate (an over abundance of sauce) n the tough pork was hard to bite cleanly, instead biting in tearing shreds. Ordered the Ahi Poke Bowl which Ahi flavor seemed a bit drowned out by the super sweetness of the whole bowl ingredients n sushi rice. I don't think I'll order it again. Super great place!!! The food here is awesome. I really like this place. It's super modern looking and appears to be a family friendly environment. We ordered the cucumber sake, the jalapeno margarita, the chili wings, waygu roll, and the drunken noodles ( we were hungry lol). Everything we ordered was great.
