I've written several reviews here, but I felt compelled to write again because the service was amazing! Well, I misordered something on their menu. Their "Pork Baos" are a bit misleading in that it's not the typical Pork Buns that you'll get from other Asian restaurants. Their Pork Baos are actually more like Dim Sum. Anyway, the waitress quickly offered to take back the misordered item, and replaced it with the Pork Buns...which turned out to be Excellent, especially because of its plentiful veggies...even the peanuts on the side. Think this was the second time dining here, where the waitress offered to take back a misordered item. Though misleading on the menu (Make sure you get Pork BUNS, not Pork BAO!), don't think all restaurants will replace items at no cost so easily. For this alone, I'm upping this to 5 stars I also tried their Spicy Crunchy Tuna Rolls, and they were delish! I only wished there were some other veggie in the roll, aside from the seaweed. Still, really, really good...so no regrets. I've had some hit and miss experience at the other Park Road location, but my experiences here at the Waverly location have been good. I will say, however, that I always thought that the menu is a tad pricey...but after several experiences here, I feel that the service and ambiance made up for it. Took my daughter out for a birthday dinner at CO...very nice place, great location, and we were able to enjoy dinner sitting outside on the patio. Our server Taylor was excellent making sure we had everything we needed. Decided to order a number of plates to sample and share so we selected five different small plates, appetizers, and main dishes. Taylor did a great job spacing the dishes out and bringing something new when we had finished. The dishes we had... Pork & Ginger Goyza (pan fried): These were exceptional. The outer skin was perfect with just enough crust and the pork & ginger center was delectable. Pork & Crab Spring Roll: Unimpressed...the insides were a bit gooey and there wasn't much flavor here. Buns Pork Belly: Very good...nice flavors and the pork belly was very tender. A bit more Hoisin sauce would have really made these extremely good. Thai Basic Chicken: Overall the dish was OK but a bit salty. Bahn Mi Katsu (crispy chicken): I love Vietnamese sandwiches, this was disappointing and the flavors were bland. Overall you can get a good and somewhat unusual meal here, but I didn't see the consistency in offerings to make this place exceptional. read more

I'd been wanting to try this place for a while. Came here with a couple of girlfriends and was unfortunately consistently underwhelmed. The hostess was rude. Our server seemed very busy and forgot several items throughout evening, including one of my friend's ENTIRE meal until the END of dinner. She never came back to make sure we received all of our food and we couldn't get her attention to flag her down and let her know that we were still missing several items. The food was just ok. Honestly none of us were terribly upset that we never received several of the things we ordered because the items that did make it to our table were mostly extremely bland, small portioned dishes that were at best, painfully underwhelming (especially given the price point). The only silver lining was the cocktails. We each tried a different one and they were all extremely good! Unfortunately the delicious cocktails weren't enough to salvage this experience. Considering how overpriced it is for such an extremely disappointing experience, I don't plan to go back. read more

I'm not normally one to write negative reviews, however I hope honest feedback may get management's attention and help bring out much needed changes. I'm unsure we'll ever return at this point, and if I feel this way, I'm probably not the only customer with these sentiments. I ordered takeout this evening and was incredibly shocked out how poorly it was made. Having gone to 3 different Co restaurants over the years, and had this dish (Pad Thai) nearly an dozen times, I know this was a far cry from how the dish is meant to be made. Additionally, this dish was $20 post tax, and it seems they couldn't even be bothered to make it fresh and how it's meant to be served. Shocking. The pad thai was dried out, looked like it was made yesterday and microwaved. A plethora of dry rice noodles, 4-5 carrot shreds (yes i even counted), no cilantro, black/shriveled green onion, and 6-7 pieces of small chicken bits. The past 2 times I have gone to this location in person the food was not that great and service was always really sporadic/no specific server to the table, entree dishes coming out 10-15 min apart, etc. Sadly, this may be the last straw and I am not sure I will ever go back after this. I had the Ahi Tuna Stack - fresh, well put together and the wonton crisps crisp yet had enough density to eat the tuna on it. I went with the Curry Laska and added shrimp. I have been eating at CO for close to 4 years. I first discovered them while living in Atlanta and was thrilled to see them with 2 locations in Charlotte. I usually eat at the park road location but within the last few months we have started eating at the Waverly location. Today something really jumped out at me during my visit...this location has too many high school kids working as servers and it really shows with the poor quality of customer service that we receive at this location. We sat outside on the patio to avoid the covid germs with the tight seating inside and unfortunately due to 4-5 friends of the hostess arriving and sitting outside on the patio waiting for her to get off from work a quiet peaceful dinner was impossible. The food as always was fresh and did not disappoint. Ordered the cheese wontons, Korean beef bowl, com chien fried rice, Malaysian chili wings and my son had the chicken katsu. My only comment to the owner and manager would be to please hire some adults to work and please put some more meat in the dishes. At these prices we should not have to fight to find beef in the Korean beef bowl. It would also be great if some other options would be added to the dessert menu....two items is just not enough! read more

One of my favorite spots for Chicken Pad Thai! Always a great go-to for me. This was my first time visiting the Waverly location. Just as good as Park Road spot. A little smaller and doesn't seem as crowded. The food - as always - was fantastic. My favorite drink at CO is the Blackberry Bourbon Fizz cocktail. Not too strong and not too sweet. Very tasty! I definitely recommend the Pork & Ginger Gyoza as a starter. And then I always go with the Chicken Pad Thai. They go heavy on the onions and they are big, so I get it without onions. WARNING: Their spicy is very spicy. CO does a scale of 1 to 3 spice level. I go level 2 and it makes me sweat. 1 being the weakest and 3 spiciest. This place is pretty cute. I love the fusion menu! I'm leaving a review now but you can expect an update once I try everything on the menu. We started with the beef & kimchi dumplings which were delicious, great flavor. I personally had the Kung fu crunch and the Fiji salmon rolls both were amazing with the exception they they were on the smaller side for the price. I was a little disappointed with that. My friend had the korean bowl and loved it. There was quite a bit of kimchi sauce so it was spicy but yummy nonetheless. We ended with the crispy cheesecake wontons. I thought that the filling would be cold and more of a cheesecake consistency but it was more like a melted custard. Either way, it was still very tasty. We tried this place for our love for Asian food, and because we have been to CO in savannah and totally loved their wings! So we ordered their wings and edamame for the appetizers. Edamame was plain with salt seasoning. Wings came out pretty cold - although the sauce itself was delicious, I could not enjoy cold wings at all. Wings were disappointing and hence this rating. Drinks were nice - between my husband, myself and our friends we tried a variety and liked it overall. Overall, this place is pretty good! Got takeout and the food was ready quite quickly, about 15 mins. From what I could tell, seating is a little limited inside but the outdoor seating in Waverly is generally nice vibez. Pad thai w/ tofu ($17.5) - you have a choice of protein and add-ons, and the tofu was very good. The noodles were a little sticky, but overall had a nice flavor. We split each dish so the portion size shown is much smaller than what is given, but I think the portion size is pretty decent. Spicy udon noodles ($17.5) - def recommend this dish. it is on the spicier side, but had delicious flavor that's hard to find elsewhere. Thai green curry ($18) - the coconut milk flavor was a little too strong imo, so the curry felt too sweet. also, the portion size for the curry felt a little too big, so i'd recommend choosing from the noodle dishes or smaller side dishes. read more

2nd visit here has proven to be a much better experience. The lunch crowd was full as I would expect. The wait staff were handling it. My Order came out in reasonable time considering the place was packed. Sushi roll, dumplings & edamame. All were fabulous! The firecracker roll is delicious! Good for lunch ? Yes ... definitely two thumbs way up ! Food was good but service was incredibly slow. A total of 10 guests in the restaurant 5 tables. It took 20 minutes to get my order of dumplings and sushi roll. Fantastic asian fusion food! I love the pad Thai entree and the drunken noodles are my Favorite! The pork gyoza dumplings are delicious. Likewise for the spicy tuna roll sushi. I love the korean bowl when I am super hungry with the spicy sauce. And their thai iced tea is amazing and really sweet like I enjoyed it! Service is excellent and parking can be crowded so plan ahead and park in the deck behind the hotel. Definitely worth several trips to eat all their yummy food! read more

Chicken pad Thai with extra lime was the order. Wad o Pad Thai is was what I received, asked several times for the Extra limes. The mean needed. Had a whopping 4 small pieces of chicken, I could not find the egg. Very Little to no spice. The pork roll was good the other rolls were not at all. The Tempura shrimp in one of the rolls was made a long time ago as there was no crunch at all and was a bit on the rubbery side an un pleasing. When we had to ask for soy (we ordered sushi, Soy should have been brought). We received two soy bowls, not a bottle of soy. Lastly, very noisy and cold. And the service was such I only tipped 10% where it is my practice to tip 20%. Net net, if in the mode for Thai, I will go to a Thai restaurant, if sushi is my mood, I will go to a sushi restaurant. The restaurant inside is nice and the service was mostly good. The only thing that went wrong was the taste of the food. The pho is strangely sweet and the spices are incredibly overpowering. For such an expensive dish, I could not eat it. It's almost as if they put a cup of sugar in the broth and steeped their spices way too long. I was extremely disappointed because I had hoped to find a place nearby with authentic tasting pho but this pho tasted so strange. I also ordered the summer spring rolls and I order Vietnamese food very often from many different states, and their pork was so strange. It was almost like jerky and had red dye around the edges, I had never seen that before and it did not taste pleasant. I wish the food had tasted good because I really wanted to like this place.
