This past Saturday was my first & last time here! We came to see Sam Grow play (who was awesome) and have dinner. There were 4 of us. We were seated rather quickly when we arrived (which is great) and our waitress came over greeted us and took our drink order which took her 15 minutes to bring back to us and then we were ready to order and she disappeared for another 20 minutes (no clue what she was doing). When she finally returned we ordered our appetizers and dinners. We ordered cream of crab soup (appetizer) and it came with a packet of crackers. My husband asked for more packets of crackers and the waitress said she would get them and NEVER came back with them.. so my husband had to ask the hostess to get them for him. Unacceptable. & let me just say it wasn't busy at all for dinner. Then our food was brought out to us and we were asked if we needed anything else and my husband asked for a water i asked for a sprite and our friend asked for bbq sauce. The waitress says sure and then walks over to a table where her friends were seated and stood there and talked for a good 20 mins about how "she had a job else where but didn't get the job because of that one thing on her background check" and never brought us our drinks and sauce. My husband had to ask her again for it and when he asked her she threw her hand up and with an attitude said "I told you I was gonna get your water". Never brought my sprite or sauce for our friend. She was a horrible waitress!! So needless to say we didn't leave a good tip at all. I believe you have to earn your tip and she did NOT! After we paid for dinner we went over to hear the singer and have a few drinks. While enjoying our time on the other side we see our waitress come over in her uniform and drinking and running her mouth about us to other workers and pointing at us. She then worked up the courage to come over and ask "did you really mean to leave me that tip??" And we told her yes because we were not pleased at all with our service. She then continues to run her mouth and cause a scene. So I go to the owner and ask if I could speak with her and the Owner who was also extremely unprofessional told me " Do you have a problem with your waitress? No I don't want to talk to you, I'm here to have a good time tonight!" She pawns me off on her bar manager! & I will say the bar manger there was extremely professional and polite! As I'm talking to the manger the waitress we had walked over with the tip we left her and slammed down in front of my husband and said "Here you can have this back I don't need this" . Then she brings over a worker that also works there and stands in front of us and points at all of us and says "these people right here are horrible people"! Sooo if you like to go to places that treat you like shit and are rude and the owners don't care about the people that are spending money in their business then this is the place for you! But we will NEVER be returning and I will be telling people about the horrible experiences we had here with service and owner! read more

Myself (who is a frequent patron of coakleys) and My girlfriend were attending first Fridays in town. we bought 2 drink pouches (containing liquor) from a distillery stand that was located on the same block as coakeys. While we were waiting for a table, a midle aged blonde lady with a coakleys apron on, came up to us and asked if there was liquor in the pouches. We where honest and replied "yes" and within a millisecond, the lady took the unopened pouches from us and continued to walk around the corner saying "we can't drink liquor outside of the establishment. mind you, the pouches were UNOPENED. we then went inside to explain that we want our money back for the pouches and will not be eating at the establishment after waiting for 30 minutes. The lady rudely came over to us and gave us our money back. The food is okay, but not worth a 30 minute wait and the trashy interaction we had. this could've been resolved by telling us to put them in my gfs purse, but instead, they lost 2 frequent customers who live in the town. This place deserves more stars! I came here with my girlfriend after hiking at Susquehanna State Park and my gosh the food was AMAZING! Me and my girlfriend got burgers fries and boneless wings. The sesame ginger boneless wings were so tasty better than Buffalo wild wings in my opinion and they have a bunch of flavors for your wings. Come here if your your hungry when you pass by on 95! I have ate here a handful of times in the past and have come back if only for their awesome fried pickles off of the appetizer menu. All of the dinners that we've had in the past were okay but on our last visit this weekend, was absolutely horrible. Granted it was St. Patrick's Day, but our waitress-who seemed like she's been there for a loooong time, was inattentive and we had bad service. We waiting a very long time just to get our beverages and my husband was never even offered a refill on his beer-He had an empty glass within 5 minutes upon receiving our food . Within a few sips of my beverage, I discovered that my bloody mary had the plastic protective cap from the drink mix, floating around inside. I showed it to the waitress when she finally came back and she blew me off, acting like it was no big deal...she said "It won't hurt ya and after you finish it, you won't even care"...like it was a joke. I didn't find it funny and there the beverage sat-untouched for the rest of the visit. The place was understandably crowded but the problem was, we saw our waitiress just standing around socializing with guests she seemed to know, most of the time. We ordered the shepard's pie with a side house salad and the corned beef and cabbage specials. The taste was pretty good but the portions were outrageously small. I've never seen such small portions in a restaurant. Also, my shepard's pie didn't seem like it was baked together like the dish is supposed to be prepared-the mashed potatoes were just thrown on top. I will say that the house dressing was fantastic and had a wonderful, unexpected flavor-not sure exactly what it was-ginger perhaps? In fairness, perhaps this was just a fluke because of the holiday, but not getting a beer refill offered, nor receiving hearty portions of traditional Irish fare on St. Patrick's Day-at an Irish pub- seemed sacreligious. If you're even remotely close to Havre De Grace, you must go to Coakley's and order a bowl of the cream of crab soup. Thick, rich and full of crab chunks, it is to die for. Plenty of meat in their other crab-related items as well. A great surprise for a couple of PA landlubbers. read more

The place is a typical Irish Pub in a touristy town. I had the fish & chips - the fish was actually really terrific, but they really need steak fries with that meal - it is just want you do with fish and chips. The waiter was a nice guy and the place was pretty clean overall. The pricing wasn't too bad considering the location of it, and I will definitely eat there again. They also have great weekly deals, and supposedly have some awesome wings for their half-off wing night on Monday. read more

On a Wednesday afternoon in HDG .... Conversation between my husband discussing lunch....... I'm hungry, I want wings. Husband says ok let's go have lunch. Never discussing where we were going, we just automatically knew we were going to where the best wings are in Harford county. Wings were perfect!!! Our Bartender Bridget was attentive as always!! Went in at lunchtime, there was... no one there? Like, we walked in and no one noticed, there were no other patrons, the wait staff was in the back. They came out eventually, and our food was great, but it was an odd experience. So I'm vegan so we tried this place cuz they had the beyond burger. The bread options were not vegan so I got a salad and a ries and that was good. The other two at my table got the Chesapeake Flatebread and a chicken wrap. The flatbread was room temperature but the wrap was good. The sliders for the appetizers were dry but the onion rings were good. So you have 50 50 chance of getting good food. read more

I have gone here twice in the last week.. and had a very positive experience both visits. Had gone here several months ago and was not so impressed the first time. I sat in the bar area this last visit and had a very good waiter serve me some ice cold brews and some amazing wings! Jamaican seasoning I highly recommend. And the price was amazing .50c wings special (Monday night) They really were excellent and the celery was NOT wilted .. Good job guys you've found a regular! read more

This place has potential... great new outdoor space, but servers need some training. Service was slow and were completely clueless about their beer selection. This is our second time here with 2 different servers who seemed clueless to the beer selection. Would love to enjoy the awesome bar but the service just ruins it. Their ribs are good, but the rest of their food is average, and they have similar beer prices to everywhere else in the area. Its really pretty nasty and not enjoyable being there. They usually have a fight there on the weekend nights between the locals. It really defines a dive bar. read more

Love this place! It is my local pub. I love all of the staff here especially Steve and Betsy. They are always so welcoming, fun to talk to, and they have very fast service. Plus blues nights on Thursdays are a ton of fun when I am able to make it out there. read more

The service was horrible iv been trying to get food here for 3 weekends now and the food side closes at 930 or atleast that's what I was told 2 weeks ago. Ps Applebee's serves food till 12/1 am every night I tried to get food again tonight got there at 920 tonight and got carded while trying to get food. While I had my I'd right after my brother walked 5 blocks back to the house to get his id the security guard proceeded to let 2 kids inside. Mind you we were only here for food not to drink but we need our ids anyway. I spoke with the manager/owner her he said "they we to busy to deal with and had me escorted out. I will not be returning and I urge anyone who is family oriented or doesn't want to get drunk not to support them bc they obviously don't care about food side of their establishment. read more

It's a nice local place. Down to earth, friendly place. Good food, cold beer. Nice low key place to relax.

I want to give them a higher rating, but I just can't. I've eaten here a few times and I've never had a bad experience, but I've never had a really good one either. It's just average food at an average pub. I've seen other people have issues, I thankfully haven't yet. If I was rating it on the bar alone it would probably be a higher rating, but as a pub I think this place is lacking. The staff is fairly unprofessional at times, the cleanliness is hit or miss, and the food is decent but not amazing. It's an average kind of place. I don't suggest going to Coakley's, but when I'm with people who want to go I go along because I can always get a burger and fries and enjoy my friend's company. From what locals told me when I moved to Havre de Grace is that the owner kind of quit caring and I think it is starting to show. read more

Thought this would be ok by the reviews. Looked nice enough from the outside but be warned, not easily accessible for the mobility impaired. Would not open the remp door. Once inside the hostesse sat us at a table another step up. It's easy to see that is a concern with my friend. The waitress felt new. Not a problem, not a fancy place. Ordered a burger for me (medium) and salmon for my companion. Looked ok. Honey mustard on the fish was just mustard, heat lamp was a friend here. looked like it had been sitting. Burger made me nauseated half way through, salmon made by friend sick the next day. No real reason to go back. Hope they fix what's wrong. read more

Stopped in to watch the Packer game on Sunday night and Mike the bartender made sure to get us seats at the bar with great view of the games on TV. The seafood nachos were awesome and they had great beer specials during the game. Very friendly patrons and Mike did a great job bartending and taking great care of us. read more

This had to have been the most disappointing dining experience I've ever had. Went to Coakley's on Sunday afternoon for lunch with friends. The restaurant was not notably busy by any means. We sat for 30+ minutes before a server even acknowledged us. We had to ask for menus and didn't get any waters while waiting. When we finally ordered our drinks, we waited another 30 minutes so we just went to the bar and got them ourselves. Our food came out all at separate times and had obviously sat under the warmer for an extended period of time. They ran out of ranch and pickles (which was awesome because almost all of us ordered wings/cheese fries) and we only saw our server about twice the entire two hours we sat in the restaurant. Bowls of soup didn't come out until after everything else. Then, to top it all off an employee mopped the disgusting bathrooms right behind our table while we were eating and then spilled the entire mop bucket under our seats. Didn't see a manager come by once to apologize for such a truly abhorrent experience. We should have just walked out. read more
