I walked in with zero intention of buying a vacuum and came running back the next day to grab a Sebo X4 at a price we couldn't beat. Junior helped us from the very beginning, starting with a phone call before I even came in which he was professional and incredibly friendly. When we arrived, he greeted us warmly and patiently walked us through every vacuum we had questions about. I was immediately drawn to the Sebo X4 for its small footprint and brand reputation. Then Junior tossed some fake fur and pellets on the floor so we could test it out ourselves and really get a feel for all the vacuums. I cannot recommend doing this enough, as the weight an maneuverability can make or break a vacuum. After purchasing the vacuum, Junior not only put it together for us (it's simple to put together, but they do it as a coutesy) he also volunteered to carry it to our vehicle! What I appreciate about the store and Junior were: 1. Top notch customer service. Everyone who works there is kind, courteous and friendly. 2. There were no high pressure sales or gimmicks. Yes, he mentioned he could get us the vacuum with a warranty that day, but he didn't push. When I said I was getting hungry and might come back later, he didn't try to close the sale. Instead, he smiled and said he totally understood, and even recommended a few nearby spots to grab food. 3. They give you their best price up front. Other places quoted me as high as $250 more for the same model, then tried to offer a $50 discount. Junior gave us a great price right away. (TIP: They have Black Friday specials coming up, so take advantage!) 4. They're an authorized dealer. Not just for Sebo, but also Miele, Riccar, and presumably others, which us important because your warranty is VOID if you buy anywhere that is not an authorized retailer. 5. They've been family owned and operated since 1971. I want to buy from a place that has longevity and that I can trust. Supporting a small business is an added bonus! I can't recommend this place enough! Lastly, I truly recommend you do yourself a favor and get a bagged vacuum. They're just better all around. They are cleaner, more reliable, better for those with allergies and pets, fewer parts to break, and if you go with a reputable brand you won't be replacing it every few years. read more

I had them replace the power cord on my Shark Rotator Lift Away vacuum last week. There are lots of hidden screws that makes it impossible to do it yourself. My 10 year dyson vacumm stopped working due to a bad electrical cord. I took it to Coast Sewing and Vacumm Center and I am very please with the results. We were greeted with a friendly welcome. They installed a new cord, replaced a broken handle on the vacumm canister and cleaned the entire vacumm. It looks as good as new. They completed the job in 24 hours and for a resemble price. I purchased a sewing machine from Coast vacuum and sewing machines in Escondido, CA. Before I paid for it, I specifically asked if I could return it, was told yes I could. Three days later I went to return it and they would not give me my money back. They offered to fix it or give me a store credit. That being said... they have no problem taking the machine back. They do have a problem returning my money. I simply do not want this machine. And I have no use for a 430.00 store credit. Bought a simplicity vacuum ~ 6 months ago..worked fantastic until small hiccup w gasket outside of the 6 month warranty. I would give this place ten stars if I could. The owner is a very dapper gentleman that looks like he could own a haberdashery. He came to my car and carried in my beloved damaged Miele vacuum. That baby cost 1k 20 years ago when I was living large. I actually requested custody after the divorce. I love that vacuum. He quoted me $169 to repair it and I almost hugged him. Why so happy?? I had taken my machine to Encinitas Vacumn and they said it was hopeless and unrepairable. They would take it in trade and give me $100 credit towards a new one. I was despondent. On a whim I took her in to Coast for a second opinion. Soooo glad that I did. He made my vacumn brand new. Dropped it Wednesday and picked it up Saturday! That is a fast turn around and curb service to boot. Go there. Only there! read more

Buyer beware! We took our vacuum here for repair and was quoted over $200 for the fix. Ouch! The repair guy suggested that instead, we should just buy a new vacuum. They did a very nice demo and showed us a vacuum which we were very close to considering until we asked the price a second time and he increased it by $100-so the price went from $399 to $499! Of course there aren't any prices on the vacuums so I think they just charge what they believe you'll pay. Turns out, the exact same model can be purchased online for only $299. Imagine our surprise given that the sales person said it can't be purchased online. THEN, we called Dyson and the part to fix our vacuum is only $80 and Dyson was kind enough to tell us how to install it (it only took about 5 minutes!). I'd be ok with even $40 in labor but this store wanted to charge over $120 for less than 5 minutes of their time! The sales people are very nice and I have no doubt that they provide great customer service but at a significant price! This is why people don't buy from these types of stores anymore! read more

I brought my 6 year old Dyson in Thursday afternoon and I picked it up Saturday morning. When I brought it in, the bottom part wasn't sucking and the hose suction was weak. When I picked it up this morning, they tested it in front of me and it worked perfectly. They fixed my vacuum and installed new filters, all for $125. read more

We were in the market for a new vacuum and stopped into Coast Sewing & Vacuum Center to see what they offered. We were surprised by how many different brands and models they carry. The employees were very friendly and took their time explaining and demonstrating the features of different models for us. The best part was that we were asked many questions about the flooring in our home, if we have pets, stairs, etc. so they could recommend the perfect vacuum for us. I really appreciate that and it is certainly something you don't get if you purchase from a department store. We bought a Miele canister vacuum, even though we went in thinking we didn't want a canister. Based on our needs, the canister was recommended, and they were correct. We love it! Prices are good. We paid the same price as it would have been on Amazon, but we received an additional wand and 3 years of cleaning and service at no extra cost. Our Dyson finally died and we went here to learn about getting a replacement. We were immediately showed the verrry pricey Simplicity upright, with him dumping some stuff on a very thin carpet and vacuuming it up--Reminded me of something you would see at a fair/carnival! Anyway, we bought it and we and our house cleaner hate it. Very heavy,tiny wheels that on any good carpet makes it feel like you're plowing the earth! It has been back for repair three times in the first year and a half as well as for the annual tuneup which you pay for the filters,etc. Also, the relatively expensive bags for the machine are proprietary. On a recent repair trip, the repair guy said "thisyears model" is a little better and costs $100 more than the several hundred $ we paid two years ago. We just got a refurbished Dyson Animal Complete.(Amazon/$230)--The 6 mos warranty is extended 3 more yrs for$26.40.=HAPPY!!! read more

That specialty place, in a small-town "downtown" area, that you wished still existed? Maybe one that repairs clocks like timekeepers, or...whatever else? This place is very much part of that. Escondido has an old car show every friday, and I sortof don't like that because there are a lot of things about way back when that weren't exactly the best. But this place? Despite Amazon, google, or where ever else - it still survives, selling and repairing vacuum cleaners and sewing machines. How? Because they have amazing customer service, are altogether almost too friendly, and do an amazing job. I had 2 vacuums I was going to throw away and replace, because that's today's society. They made them brand new. If you're even remotely thinking about whether to but a vacuum from costco vs here, buy it here. Even if you pay a few bucks more - you get a year of cleaning! And a real person does a really amazing job. Disposable appliances really should stop being a thing. read more

I will start by admitting I obviously let them scam me. I was like the other reviewers, fooled by their friendly demeanor every time I'd been in the shop. When I went in to have my trusted Simplicity vacuum (purchased there YEARS earlier) to have a minor repair, I was bamboozled into buying a new Simplicity vacuum, which let me say, is not improved. I knew I was unsatisfied with the newer vacuum. I went back and didn't complain about the $700+ vacuum including trade in of mine. All I wanted was to get back my original Simplicity Vacuum even if I had to buy it back. So I paid the $50 and bought (what later turned out to be not my Simplicity). That one had to be returned because the plug did not work. Took it back and pleaded can I please get my original Simplicity back (again even if I had to pay more$). Nope. My point here being is the seem nice & helpful. And I bought my replacement bags from them for years. I have not touched the new Simplicity (I mean Riccar, which they say is the same) in the 6 months since its purchase. this now being the second time i've used it in 6 months, I must express my anger. And the Simplicity that they sold me for $50 extra that was not mine, id very frustrating to use because it shuts down within 5 mins. of use, every time. If they really are concerned about their customers they could of done something to rectify the problem, which I was willing to pay whatever I had to no matter who was right or wrong. I just wanted my original Simplicity vacuum back!! I will write a shorter, more to the point review another time. I just need to really vent my anger. read more

I own a Dyson vacuum, which I absolutely love. Recently however, it had a small lever break off. So instead of contemplating buying a new one, I went to Coast to see if they could repair it. The man working offered me $200 dollars towards a trade-in on a new machine, a brand I had never heard of. Not quite feeling right about it, I called a Dyson representative who informed me this location is not Dyson approved. They took my machine and fixed it for no cost. I do believe this man would have taken my vacuum, fixed it and resold it. I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more
