Had a chicken burrito and a quesadilla here. The food was ok but not great. The burrito was not particularly flavorful in terms of spices, and the quesadilla had a bit too much cheese for my tastes. Parking near the boardwalk can be a bit tight during peak times of the day. The restaurant is waterfront and has areas that are partially covered, but not indoors. It can get a bit windy being right on the water, but the view is great. Local bands play some nights. We were on the boardwalk twice and one band was terrific, the other not so much. My husband and I had selected an entree each that we were told was unavailable when we ordered. Would've been helpful to know that 3 things we were interested in, they didn't have available, upfront. After another round of selections we ordered a chicken quesadilla and a steak burrito. We also ordered guacamole to start. I wasn't impressed with the guac, we didn't finish it. The chicken quesadilla was alright, nothing special. But my husband enjoyed the steak burrito, which was huge. They had a few beers on tap, a margarita machine, etc. Good spot for a few beers and good if you have kids. I came here once in 2012 and again last week while staying in Corolla. This place has SO much going for it--LOCATION, awesome laid-back vibe, LOCATION...unfortunately the food AND the service leave much to be desired. The chips and salsa are mediocre. The drink I had was FABULOUS, but I also only like drinks where you can't even detect the alcohol, so normal people might not agree. The queso was decent...but my burrito was a disaster. Once I tasted it, I remembered why I left unsatisfied in 2012. This place can not cook tex-mex. Sorry. This is some white people concocting various dishes that look like tex-mex but taste like I tried to make something myself at home in the microwave and failed. My chicken burrito was legit gross--it was ENORMOUS, but the chicken was like, pre-cooked, pre-seasoned, weird tasting garbage. I asked for extra cheese and the burrito was exploding with cold shredded cheese--almost none of it was melted even a LITTLE bit. I was so hungry that I broke open the burrito and tried to pick through the gross parts and just eat the rice and beans. To be totally fair, my boyfriend liked his fish tacos--so maybe fish tacos is what they do right and you shouldn't order anything else. We decided to stop in here because we were already at the shops and thought it would be a quick, low key bite to eat. It took them FOREVER to even bring us chips and ask our drink orders, and by the time they came to ask our orders I was almost full from finishing our chips and considering just skipping a "main course." They weren't busy at all so I really don't understand why it was such slow service. I usually like to try a place at least twice before saying it bombs. I won't be coming back here! read more

Drinks were good but the service was terrible. I got a drink that I didn't like so I ordered a different one (dstill paying for the original drink). We got our bill andx 2 of the drinks we ordered were not on it. So I told the bartender and she rolled her eyes grabbed the ticket. We spent 70 dollars on our drinks and the manager said we didn't have have our order together which is common when you have 7 people looking at a menu they have never seen before. We left 18% tip and the bartender still jerked the screen away. The view is nice and the drinks are ok but the attitude is uncalled for. Will never go back. read more

Very casual. Painted wooden tables. Right on the water with a great view of the sound. Wouldn't get the sangrias again. We got frozen ones last year and they were so good, but they don't have them anymore. We were very sad about that. New sangrias are red or white and very watered down- you can barely taste any wine. We also got the crab pizza and guacamole. Very good and highly recommended! Bring back the frozen sangria :( overall a great place, great service and great atmosphere. Fortunately we were able to snag a picnic bench pretty soon after arrival, and it was one with a great view of the Sound. Don't hold your breath for breakfast. Ran out of many options before 10 even though breakfast is suppose to go till 11. Took 45 minutes just to get one açaí bowl. Que lastima! Wanted to love this place because of the setting, but the food was nothing special. Chips were stale, frozen margaritas truly awful. (We should've known better.) Went there for lunch after the wild Safari tour. The only good thing about this place is the view to the sound. It has beautiful deck with picnic tables. The food is not all that good is not even compared to chipotle. The wait stuff was not very friendly. They didn't seat us until wait ask and have to ask for water refill and ask for salsa. The view here is spectacular and the drinks were good. The food is okay. The fish tacos only had one small piece of fish on them and the chips and dip were nothing spectacular. The steak and the chicken quesadillas the kids ordered were good and had a decent amount of meat on them. Your specialty cocktails were deliciously fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was picture perfect for our lively bunch. The band we had kept everyone on their feet. Thank you for clearing and moving tables for our impromptu dance party. Our team members didn't want to leave, even after the band left. That's a testament to your staff for making everyone feel welcome and invited to be there. I'm happy we had the fresh salsa and guacamole on the tables as our guests arrived. I think almost every bowl was licked clean. I heard multiple times that the fresh guacamole and Cubans were some of the best our folks had ever had. We went here on a whim as a few other places closed early on a Sunday. We sat at a colored picnic table and were noticed fairly quickly. Chips and salsa (a little tomatoey but still really good), and drinks came soon. I had the Mahi-mahi fish tacos and my husband had the shredded beef burrito. Mine had very good flavor, with a bit of a kick. The only thing is, for the price, I could have used a little more food. read more

This used to be our go-to spot for great fish tacos and queso dip. Sadly it's gotten too popular and is very chaotic. On our visit, it was mobbed by 6:15 with large parties holding tables so we shopped a bit then came back and hovered for one of the few tables. Waited 40 minutes for our food (cheese quesadilla, fish tacos & chicken quesadilla). They were out of queso by 6:00pm. A taco truck can do better. :( Food was just ok - fish tacos used to be nice, thick chunks of fish but now appear to be thin, overdone tilapia. My daughter didn't enjoy her quesadilla - who puts cheddar in Mexican food? Great view though, nice music on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings. It's all outdoor seating. You place your order at the counter and the servers bring it out when it is ready. Fend for yourself for refills and napkins. They'd benefit from a pager system for food pickup and a lot more organization in the kitchen. read more

Great view, nice mellow crowd, good food, outdoor waterfront seating. Bad Bean has a better taco and salsa, but CC is definitely worth a visit. Best of all, bring your SUP, launch from Kitty Hawk Kites' dock (they don't mind; park in the "overflow" lot behind Winks, across the street), paddle for a few hours, dock at CC, have lunch and a beer, and head south for another few hours. Perfect. June 2014 Update: So, it would appear that the fish tacos menu has changed. The jury is still out but I'm not sure 4 stars will still be indicated. Watch for others' reviews carefully. We love the location and the place, but the flavors weren't there early this season. We'll give them another try before adjusting or re-reviewing. read more

I ordered a chicken burrito here on a recent trip to the obx. I was pleasantly surprised by the large serving for such a low price.
