I do not recommend this establishment. We first became acquainted with Coastal Crust when it was featured on a show by Andrew Zimmer. We have eaten here multiple times and found their pizza to be amazing. After reading about their event space in a local periodical we thought it offered the perfect place for our daughters April 2023 rehearsal dinner. Good pizza, a relaxed and coastal vibe. Just what they were looking for their destination Charleston wedding. $30/person for unlimited pizza and drinks for three hours with a dedicated server to ensure food was available throughout the time of the event. Unfortunately the food stopped about midway through at the height of the dinner hour. After 30 minutes with no food and after multiple requests we were told that they also had a restaurant run and couldn't prioritize our booked event. They would provide more food as they were able. What a disappointment for an important family event. We had a group of 40 hungry people and did not expect more than what they promised in their agreement. They have lost a loyal local customer. read more

Coastal Crust just made my pizza dreams come true. We had them come to our office for a work lunch and it was better than I could've expected. I tried 7 different pies - yeah, that's right - and there wasn't a bad one among the bunch. They have very creative pizzas if you want to go non-traditional, such as truffle honey with peaches, bacon and caramelized onions, but their classic combos are where it's at for me. Crust was yummy - thin without being too floppy or soggy, bubbly and crispy on the edges. Ingredients are fresh, staff is friendly, and their truck is so freakin' sweet. The design of the truck and their overall set-up makes for the classiest experience you'll ever have eating on pavement. They really have their act together, I think this would be a great option for any event where you need pizza. Which is probably every event. I officially declare them my favorite food truck in Charleston! read more

Absolutely fabulous! Erin Fornadel is the hostess with the mostess! The Pesto Soppressata is my favorite! But I tried I believe every pizza on the menu at our event. Not a bad one in the house. You totally have to try this pizza Palace and I say Palace because the people are awesome and the pizza is fantastic! They had a Peasant Board to die for! (Prosciutto, Manchego, House pickles, whole grain mustard, hot honey, and home made bread) wow!! They carry every flavor of wine all delicious, and good beers . You cannot go wrong stopping here for a pizza ! I highly recommend them. It was delicious! They have a sister house Nextdoor (Vintage Coffee Cafe) which has breakfast and lunch! I cannot wait to try that, now back to the pizza truck and the catering they do. They have a wood fired grill with beer taps truck! Who can resist that! Went on a whim tonight as Coastal Crust is close to my home, absolutely delicious. I had the special of the night with toasted pine nuts, rosemary, and goat cheese. I can't speak for their other pizzas, but the special was one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten! I'll definitely be back to try others. read more

Kiddie-land We foolishly planned a date night at Coastal to dine outside and enjoy the gorgeous weather last night. I've had good lunches at Vintage Coffee (out front) and assumed it was the same proprietors. 5 stars for the very cool outdoor setting, reclaimed wood, trendy lighting and varied seating arrangements - but sadly EVERYTHING else fell short. The entire place was filled with running, screaming, shouting, water-throwing children, seemingly unsupervised by parents and definitely not by any Coastal staff. A metal "drum" (side table) was being carried around like a drum by the children banging on it. It was impossible to have a conversation or enjoy our drinks. We sat by the drinking water "station" and watched numerous children wiping their hands directly on the tap as they used it to "wash" their hands. A sweet tiny toddler was fascinated by the spigot and spend 20 minutes wiping her hands on the faucet part of it, and filling up cups of water. I was genuinely concerned for her safety, as 1/2 hour went by with no adult in sight. A few women finally came by looking for the child and said something about "it takes a village"... I didn't really mind that our pizza took almost an hour, but when they had a "keg issue", and all the blasé staff could say was, "the owner is on his way now..." that was too much. So, nothing to drink while we waited and endured the cacophony of the kiddie circus. When our pizza finally arrived, it was bland, under-seasoned, and the haphazardly scattered toppings were scarce. (Meatball & ricotta). The crust was tasteless and didn't have the signature black burn marks your come to expect from quality pizza. Our Caesar salad was just as disappointing, other than the parmesan cheese shavings which seemed to be very good quality. The young ladies who ran the food DID work very hard, and I could see the frustration on their faces when dealing with complaints and all the "where is my food" questions. Having a designated play area is a great idea, but allowing children to race around rampant over the entire property - unsupervised- is another thing. read more

This place was recommended to me by multiple co workers. The atmosphere is "chill" . Service is lacking . We waited over an hour (during a very non busy time pre dinner rush ) while others sitting near us got their pizzas in 10 minutes. Waitress said she saw our ticket and we were up next but then when she brought the pizza she said our ticket was lost . Understandable however generally when this happens the restaurant should give you an app free or comp your meal etc. they did none of us this for us. Even just asking for a box was like a hardship for the staff . pizza is ok (decent for Charleston ) nothing to write home about. Ping pong was fun. read more

We dined at the Wild Dunes location. The waiter appeared completely uninterested in serving us. He never brought us water. They brought the appetizer with the pizza. My meal was brought to the table about 20 mins after everyone else in our party; and only after I asked about it. One of the desserts was forgotten. The first time we had dinner there it was great. My husband had the Cesar salad and I had the arugula which I really liked. We had the special pizza. We love thin crust so this was right up our alley. The sauce is really good and the edge of the crust is crisp and chewy. My husband isn't one to sit outside unless there is a view so I wasn't sure how he would react to this place since all the seating is outside and it's not far off the road from Ben Sawyer but you don't hear the car noise and they done a nice job of giving it a cozy feeling. They even had a little bon fire going. I didn't give it 5 stars because the second time we ate from here was take out. I ordered the arugula salad again and when we got it home it was only arugula and dressing, none of the toppings were on the salad, disappointing since I really like that salad. Ordered and was then told it was a 45 minute to an hour wait to be served. Sat down and the group beside us said that they had been there 90 minutes waiting for their food; they wound up leaving 30 minutes later. The salad took 45 minutes and the pizza took almost two hours which one group said was also their wait time for one pizza. The staff said that they were experiencing a large online demand and the system was putting all the online orders ahead of in person orders. No compensation; not even a free drink for the extensive wait. We were able to return to our hotel for additional clothing and play most of a card game while waiting. The pizza, once it finally arrived, had excessively burnt crust and was soggy. I've lived in Italy and this pizza didn't make the grade. We were the next to last table to be served and it seemed like the staff had called it quits a while prior to making our meal. read more

Let's start with the best: they have a great location, especially if you have kids. The service is alright, I guess; my experience was walking up to a window and feeling like I was interrupting a group of folks that had some kind of conversation going on. We ordered the meatball pizza, caesar salad, and a glass of wine. It was surprisingly expensive. The pizza had hardly any of the toppings on it; like you should go back and ask them to add more. The flavor wasn't bad at all. Just not great value or service. The location and flavor gets them a second star in my mind, but I left frustrated. I haven't been to any of the food trucks, but the Mt. P location isn't a place I would likely visit again. I was excited to try Coastal Crust, but I'd rather give my money to Andolini's. If I wanted "gourmet" pizza; well, I'm still looking. read more

The quality of the food has been declining here since they opened. The pizza was undercooked, the meatball panini bread was so hard and burnt we couldn't even eat the bread and the order was 25 minutes later than the online pickup window. For a $50 meal this was upsetting. read more

Great pizza and atmosphere. They've only been open three weeks, so hopefully the hour wait for a salad and an hour and 10 minutes for a pizza, is only part of thier "growing pains".
