You know the type of reviewer that I am talking about. I am extremely picky about my GF pizzas and this is one of the top two I have ever had. The crust is truly special. It is chewy yet light. It has the perfect amount of wood fired pizza oven taste. It is as satisfying as the regular pizza. You can tell the person that came up with this recipe really knows that they are doing. I recently visited Coastal Crust's brick-and-mortar and really enjoyed it! It's a cool set-up with very limited indoor seating but a ton of space outside to hang out (complete with an old flat-bed truck repurposed as a playground), which is good for kids. So it's a good place to take the little ones but also maybe something to note if you're trying to avoid kids. They also do really great pizzas! I actually had the opportunity to sample most of the menu when I was there and everything I tried was really good. I particularly enjoyed the Pesto & Soppressata, Fig & Prosciutto, and something that doesn't seem to be a regular menu item that I can't recall the name of but had some delicious spicy cured Italian meat and some kind of olive-caper spread and was amazing! They've got a robust wine selection and a few different styles of beer. There's a gravel parking lot that fills up pretty quick but you can certainly find parking right across the street in the shopping center. Definitely one of the better pizza places in town and a place to check out now that they've expanded from the food truck game! read more

The concept of this restaurant is attractive but the execution is seriously lacking. Tried three times, and won't be back. The pizza dough is flavorless and so you only taste the burnt bottom. The ingredients are just okay, and the salads have strange combinations. But the biggest complaint is the service. Today, Coastal Crust's food truck, a mobile brick-oven pizza operation, was at the Half Marathon/5K race I did on John's Island. I was excited to try their food. Coastal Crust isn't like many food trucks that go to a business or set up on the street- they mostly do catered, contracted events, like this 5K, or charity bike rides, brew events, etc. But, if you get the chance to try them, you definitely should. I had the veggie pizza with artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and black olives, and it was delicious. It's cooked just right with a thin crust and very light. It took awhile for them to make my pizza (they were backed up with making pizzas for tons of hungry runners), but it was worth the wait. The staff was super nice and had great service, they were working very hard to get pizzas made quickly (it does not take them long to make the pizzas). Throughout the entire planning process, they were extremely helpful and I could always reach them for answers to any questions I had (this being my only wedding experience, obviously I had a lot haha). I loved having the vintage bar and pizza oven trucks add to the feel of the event. The pizza, passed hors d'oeuvres, salad, gnocchi...everything was delicious. We want to love CC for so many reasons but last nights meal forced me into speaking out. We had a large Caesar that was really really sandy, a cheese pizza and two glasses of wine that were noticeably under poured. Nice staff. Cool outdoor dining. Good food, but... They have to fix their work flow to accommodate the number of patrons or limit the number of orders they take. We were warned it would be 40 minutes before our pizza would be ready. Ok, that's a long wait, but we were on vacation and no time constraints. Unfortunately, it took 2 hours waiting in the parking lot. At the 1 hour, 15 minute mark we were told "just 15 more minutes". If they had told us 45 minutes more, we would have just asked for a refund and left. ??? If call in orders bumped us back?? If they look too busy, move on to another restaurant. And btw, I kinda thought we would get some drinks comped or something.... Nope, just a smile and a "We are sorry". I wish they had just been up front with us. read more

Awesome atmosphere that is befitting to West Greenville, and the pizza is one of a kind with its own distinctive creations.

The meatballs were surprisingly delicious. We also split a Margherita pie and it was excellent. The crust is nice and crispy and there was the perfect ratio of cheese and sauce. Simple but deliciously well done. The space is unique with all outdoor seating. There is plenty of space to sit and lots of different areas and nooks.
