Stopped in for an early dinner on a Saturday. Decor is really lovely. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I opted for the brisket grilled cheese and fries. It was really good. Came out hot and crispy. Good seasoning on the fries. Also got the Living the Dream cocktail, which was delightful. I would definitely return, especially if I needed to be at or near Mayo. There was a big retirement party out back when I was there and I still found a parking spot not too far from the door. Plenty of parking usually, I'd think.

Unfamiliar with great eats options in Jax, I relied on a coworker who is local to offer up a…read moresuggestion. I went with him here and loved it. Parking will cost you (think it was $8 for 3 hours) but there's plenty of parking options. The restaurant sits on the corner and faces towards the beach (although you can't see the beach). It was pretty packed inside and a reservation is recommended. I liked the busy atmosphere. We started with a modelo and oysters. There were some beers on tap they ran out of for the evening. The oysters were good, but shall we than I expected. I opted for their snapper special: pan seared over jasmine rice with string green beans and a nice sauce underneath. It came out looking like a 5 star meal and tasted as such. One of the best red snapper entrees I've had!. It's hard not to give 5 stars when the fish is this amazing! Our waitress was also on point and there when we needed her. I hope to be back here again and would recommend!

Seated on time, seated on the top- by the window, quieter than downstairs and a wonderful view. Server was great. Food: Calamari- only ok, not a lot of flavor at all. Shrimp and grits- large serving and good. Bitter beans, always good- maybe didn't need so much (lesson learned( Crabcakes- this time lacked in comparison to others in terms of flavor and freshness. Really good French 75s. Still a good visit overall and would try again.

I have no idea how I've gone all this time living in Jax without making it to Marker 32! A miss in…read moremy part for sure. The restaurant itself is so unassuming from the outside and also really from the inside as well. It's very understated, but maintains a level of class. Nothing is overdone decor-wise and it's just... nice. And the food was wonderful. We started with deviled eggs for the table. Not one of my personal favorite foods, but even I liked it. The fried oyster on top is a great add. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes, which came with a side of bacon. The pancakes I imagined were going to be super rich, but they weren't! They were perfect fluffy, tasty pancakes with blueberry on them as a perfect topper. The bacon was just the right amount of crispy while still being just a little chewy. I also did have a nibble of the short rib hash and I am convinced I will get that for myself next time. So much flavor in just my one forkful. I was too stuffed full to eat any dessert but I will be dreaming of those beignets until next time (even tho technically an appetizer). We were served a little praline tho, which I thought was nice and of course I found a little space for! Our server was also just such a gem. The exact right amount of checking in and information on specials etc. they made an already great experience that much more wonderful. Also at a time when I feel like so many restaurants are just way overpriced, Marker32 is not. The food quality is well beyond the price they charge which was a great surprise. This spot is definitely on my will return list. Gotta try out the dinner menu.

I was really looking forward to celebrating my birthday here, but unfortunately the experience was…read moredisappointing from the moment we arrived. We checked in about 15 minutes before our reservation, which was completely fine since we expected to wait at the bar until our table was ready. However, even 15 minutes after our reservation time had passed, no one had called us. When we went back to the hostess stand to ask, we were told the only table available was one that had been sitting empty the entire time--right behind the hostess stand next to the entrance. Since this was a birthday dinner, I asked if we could wait a little longer for a better table. Instead of trying to accommodate us, they simply pointed to another couple who looked like they were finishing dessert and implied we'd have to wait for that table. Not wanting to delay the evening any further, we reluctantly accepted the undesirable table. The food was okay, but the service from the two hostesses and the manager was what really left a bad impression. No one acknowledged that we had been overlooked, no one apologized, and there was absolutely no effort to make things right--especially disappointing considering it was a birthday reservation. There are plenty of great restaurants in Jacksonville with much better hospitality. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of them, and I wouldn't choose to celebrate a special occasion here again.
