We traveled from Portsmouth, Rhode Island to Tiverton, meeting friends at this funky joint. Because of Covid-19, the tables and chairs have been removed. We met friends for coffee and we were not disappointed. There are at least three dozen coffee offerings, hot, cold, lattes, etc and several kinds of pastries they make. The coffee is roasted on site and from so many countries. Parking is along side the road and loaded on both sides. Best roasted coffee in RI. In the summer it's a relaxing place to sit (very comfy Adirondack chairs, or umbrella shaded tables) and watch the boats go by. They have great cold drinks (aside from their cold coffee ones) that are different than most places. And I ALWAYS make sure I get a pound of their coffee beans for use at home. Driving up, the line was out the door and I didn't even want to go in. Thinking, "their coffee can't be THAT good." My boyfriend convinced me that we just had to try it. Waited in line about 10 minutes, which is about how long it took me to figure out what I wanted on their expansive menu. I got an iced coffee with almond milk, my boyfriend got their salted caramel latte. WOW. The coffee used is perfection, no gross after taste, smooth, and strong! The salted caramel was amazing (I don't like sweet coffees), this was blended perfectly. Each sip tasted the same, unlike other coffee shops where each sip could be more sugary or milky than the next. His latte was blended amazingly. Sad we didn't try it sooner, but highly recommend!! read more

God I love this place so much. I've already written a review about 5 years ago on my old account but I'm writing another one to update. My family and I have been regulars here for 10+ years and we usually stop for drinks before heading to the beach. I think during all my years ordering here, there's only been one drink I didn't like (Mojo Coco I think??). It didn't taste bad, it just wasn't my thing. Other than that, their coffee and espresso is delicious. The beans are roasted in-house so it always smells like fresh coffee. The menu has a ton of unique options and flavor shots, and almost every milk alternative is always available. For the quality and size of the drinks, the prices can't be beat compared to other cafes in the area. There's no room to sit inside, but there's plenty of chairs and tables outside that overlook the water. Be warned that they don't serve sandwiches or anything, but the pastries are really tasty and there are usually gluten free and vegan options. Almost done I promise. Here's some of my favorite drinks rq: - Lavender matcha (seasonal) - Peanut butter cup latte - Uncranky Yankee latte - Coconut cream frappe - Spicy Bee latte (seasonal) - Coco Loco (tastes best hot) Literally nothing bad to say about this place except for that the service can be a little slow when they're busy. Let's face it, this is some of the best coffee on this side of the Sakonnet Bridge. Many local shops even use their beans, some even in the Warren and the East Providence area! This gem is right on the water, with lots of picnic tables and Adirondack chairs for your nice weather enjoyment. Inside seating is limited to a table that's usually occupied by the locals. Even if it was available you probably wouldn't want to sit there since the place is so busy the line usually wraps around the table. There is a restroom that sometimes says employees only because of the beach traffic that sometimes comes over, but just ask they'll probably let you use it! Their roaster is right in the open, and if you plan your trip right you might just get to see them roasting the beautiful beans into magical goodness! This place is the Cheers of coffee, if you're a local, you're bound to bump into a few people you know! Guaranteed! They have a large menu available offering a wide array of drinks. Sometimes the staff isn't friendly, but I'm willing to forgive that based off the coffee. Also, I'd probably be pretty grumpy too if people were just tossing money at me as they left instead of waiting in line. This is a must stop if in the area, the views are beautiful and the coffee is fantastic! read more

Ahh, the comfort of being at Coastal Roasters wrapped in the chill of winter while sipping delicious fair trade coffee or enjoying an on-the-spot fresh brewed herbal iced tea after a hot day at the beach. Lisa, the owner has been the main skipper behind the scenes as well as, front and center but you'd never know it by her humble gentle pace. Gracefully, you can find her hauling huge bags of beans, chatting up the locals or making a dash delivery in her eco-friendly vehicle. She 'gets it.' I used to think that every lucky town had their own Coastal Roasters but in my travels, I've never been able to find such a great place; when I return, my first stop: Coastal Roasters. There is something uniquely soothing about this place (though it's constantly busy) and it's not just the ginormous selection of loose leaf teas and ethical coffee, the tiny decor, the busy morning honor system for regulars, the selection of cool creations made by local artists or that they're located right on the bay. The folks at Coastal Roasters are the best......and so is their coffee! I live in Malden MA, but my bf lives on the South Coast and works in East Providence. He turned me onto CR's delicious Colombian coffee a few years ago and I've never looked back. Every month or so, he grabs me a few pounds before heading up for the weekend. His hours at work changed recently (he stays later), and CR closes a bit early during the winter. He called to see what the new winter hours were, and much to his dismay, they would close a half hour before he could get there. They told him to come on down, anyway!* There on the counter, ready to go, were three pounds of Columbian deliciousness. Thanks to the fine folks at CR, I'm enjoying a cup of my favorite coffee this fine Saturday morning. Thank you, guys! Yesterday' s gastronomical journey took me to another favorite place of mine, Coastal Roasters. Here you can find some great coffee that is hand-roasted on location! Coastal Roasters, a tiny and quaint place by the water, also offers a broad selection of fine teas and some baked goods too. Some coffees here are organic and some are aptly named for local spots such as the Fog Land Fog-cutter , a medium roast blend. There is a small table in the building usually boasting local newspapers and other items for perusal. Take your beverage of choice outside and sit by the water in Adirondack-style weathered wooden seats while you face a stone statue of a Buddha figure surrounded by some flowering plants and some not -flowering fauna. A very peaceful and contemplative atmosphere in which you may find pleasure in a read maybe while enjoying the view with your coffee or other concoction. Coastal Roasters is STILL killin' it! Great little coffee spot right on the water and relatively easy to get to from Route 24. The coffee just tastes real. Like, extra coffee-y. The way coffee should taste. Roasted in-house so it's always the freshest. Always. If coffee isn't what you fancy, they've got a tremendous selection of loose tea also. Or maybe you'd like a fruit smoothie with an energy boost. Or how about a delicious locally baked treat. Scones, bagels, granola bars, croissant, etc. Not only is Coastal Roasters a great place to grab a cup of coffee and a snack but it's also the perfect spot to catch wind of the local Tiverton/Little Compton happenings. They've always got posters for local art shows, plant sales, music gatherings and they usually have a box set up selling eggs or veggies or somethin' from one of the many local farms. If you're on the run and lookin' for something quick, that's fine but if you have a minute, you should really grab a seat outside, pick up the local paper and just sort of absorb the vibe that this gem is offering. One thing to note is that while they only close, I think, 2 days a year or something like that, it's really a morning kind of place and by 5pm most days they're closed. read more

I met a friend here for coffee one day. I had driving by this place a few times and had always wanted to stop in. The place is super cute and rustic. It's right on the water with some great outdoor seating. They have a pretty large beverage menu, with lots of coffee and tea options. They even have non-dairy milk options! The girl who rung us out was very nice and friendly, and got our coffees out in a reasonable time. My friend and I sat outside since it happened to be a pretty nice day outside! I had ordered a mocha iced coffee with almond milk, and it was delicious! My friend and I enjoyed our coffee and most of the atmosphere and would gladly come back. My only complaint was that one of the girls who worked there, not the one who waited on is, came outside and sat down with some people she knew. I'd assume it was her break time, but she started talking very loudly, inappropriately and was throwing straw paper around. She had sat down at the table directly next to my friend and I, so it made our conversation tough. We ended up leaving because of the way she was acting. It was embarrassing. I only wish I had known her name, but I hope if we do go back we won't run into to her again. read more

My first visit to this cute coffee cafe. Extremely friendly and very welcoming. Love the outdoor area to just hang out and enjoy your favorite beverage. Mine was a large caramel Latte. Large is large!! No skimping on the size. I'm not sure what happens when it gets cold out because the inside is so tiny. I met a really cute local couple . Really friendly. It's located right on the river which makes the view pleasant to sit for awhile and take in the sites. The selection of teas and coffees are amazing. Definitely try if your in the area and head a little further down the road for a well known Lobster Roll.:) read more

Awesome hidden gem by the bay. This little coffee shop has a big personality and an even bigger drink menu! I highly recommend their coffee and smoothies, anything with mango in it is good! They also have lots of sweets from local bakers and a good gluten free section. Every time I work in Tiverton, it is a must have. 9/10 read more

This little treasure is right down the street from my cousin's place in Tiverton. What an awesome local café! The people there nice and very laid back. The owner (I think she's the one in the red behind the counter in one of my pictures) has a very relaxed attitude. When I was there I sat outside and she accidently stepped in doggy-dooo, she cleaned it up and even laughed about it. I was amazed. Usually people mumble and make a big fuss about it, not this one! She had a great attitude about the situation. I'm definitely coming back to this place. OH! I had the Mojo Coco which is, I guess there version of a Mocha, which was actually good! Awesome place and great atmosphere to just sit down and relax. It even has an amazing view of the bay. Friendly people all around and the people that visit are the locals who support the business - which is always a good thing! Keep up the good work guys! read more

It has a wonderful outdoor atmosphere where you can sit and watch the sea birds while you have your coffee (other soft drinks too.) Maybe a pastry too. The service, well on the summer weekends I find that at certain hours the place is very (and I emphasize) BUSY, so you may find the help a little short on conversation. read more

Being in the area I decided to stop in and give CR a try. They had a very wide selection of coffees I would defiantly be back to give a try! There is limited seating inside but it is right near a pier like area that is a perfect view to pair with! I got the mocha espresso drink (with the fun name) with almond milk, it originally pairs with whole milk which I recommend getting it with as espresso drinks can be overpowering flavored but this was a good drink either way! read more

Cool old school coffee shop with a great view of the water. I will be honest, this place is a 3 star spot but the view gets an extra star. I had the Mexican light roast, but it was the bottom of the pot so that might explain why it was a little bitter. The staff if fun and friendly. I've been coming here for years. The parking has always been terrible but it can't be helped. The view is lovely and the coffee is very good. Unfortunately the service has greatly declined over the last few years. The majority of the staff is very friendly but too involved in conversation with themselves or regulars. It feels like I'm intruding when I try to order. Often I am ignored and made to feel very uncomfortable. The worst is a grumpy heavy set woman whom I believe is the manager. She never smiles and never acknowledges me. It's so awkward it's painful. She only waits on me if she's forced to. She is often wrapped up in courting tips and seems very annoyed to have to stop and help me. On many occasions she has missed items I have ordered because she failed to pay attention while I was speaking. I'm done. It's not worth the hassle of parking and getting rude service. read more
