It was easy to schedule time for our tankless water heater descaling appointment with Steve. On the day of the appointment, it was Steve, his son, and dog who helped us out! If regularly descaled, the appointment should have taken took 1 hr, but because the house's previous owners did not annually descale, they had it running a bit longer, at about 1.5 hours. Also, Steve noticed an issue with our gas line, so he kindly and complimentarily switched out the screw attachment for us. At the end, we paid a flat fee as agreed upon before the appointment which was lower than other quotes we got, and it was very nice for Steve to replace our gas line attachment for free. I did the due diligence, made a LOT of phone calls to get estimates and referrals. After receiving astronomical bids from local plumbers decided to focus on water heater contractors. Maverick was the first and last contacted due to professional first impression, excellent and expedient communications, stellar reviews, availability and very fair pricing. I really liked that Steve is independent vs. franchise owned. It seemed too good to be true so verified his license with CA State, yes he was listed. Install was scheduled for Monday but when tenants called frantic that the leak was escalating, Steve responded by bumping install date up to Saturday. Today was install day. Steve was dependable, timely and got to work immediately. The Above and Beyond was deserved for first draining/uninstall defective unit, transporting it to Home Depot for warranty exchange then delivering replacement unit back to residence. I inadvertently selected the wrong replacement unit, Steve had to turn around to Home Depot and again go through the return process. Steve takes pride in his work, it is clear due to his experience and licensed status he wants to get the job done to code and right. Steve is amazing to do business with. He was the first to respond when I posted my project. He called me, asked me to describe the problem, and then walked me through the steps to reset my very old water heater. He told me to wait 45 minutes and call him if my problem was still not solved. It did the trick!! All the other contractors quoted me $115 and above to even look at the issue! One of them even quoted me 1700$ to simply replace the heater instead of even diagnosing the issue.
