Prior to closing, I was able to get Halo Halo from Ben's Scoops which had a great selection of Filipino ice cream flavors that are not commonly served. The overall environment appears to be very family friendly, there are small vendors selling merch and outside seating with options to sit by the fire pit. I think what I enjoy about this restaurant is that there are so many addicting individual components to each dish, but they all mesh so incredibly well on a cohesive plate. You could order meat, or cheese, or combination, and you could also have it with potato breading around it. Once they give it to you, you can put ketchup or mustard or sugar crystals as toppings. When I took the first bite, it was crunchy and cheesy, because I ordered the mix with the cheese. So delicious. They give you a beeper so that when you're waiting, you can go browse other things.

There's a green area in the middle with seating and is popular with families with young kids. There was a stage set up for special events. When we arrived for dinner, there was a lot of parking available. But when we left around 7 pm the lot had filled up and the common area was filled with families. I think there was an event with fake snowflakes as I saw a lot of melted ice all around. It must have been fun for the kids. I saw a number of new stores that I didn't see the last time we were there, such as Lululemon and Yeti. This is an enjoyable place to visit.

My concern is not only whether the fee is adjusted later, but that I am being presented with and asked to approve a surcharge at the time of checkout when I am using a debit card. This has now happened more than once, and staff have refused to remove the fee before completing the transaction. As a customer, I am not comfortable authorizing a transaction that includes what appears to be an inaccurate surcharge and then relying on a later adjustment on the back end. That process is not transparent and does not make me feel confident as a patron. The California Attorney General's guidance states that merchants may not mislead customers or hide differences between credit, debit, and cash pricing, and debit card surcharges are generally not permitted even when run as credit. I hope this can be corrected at the point of sale so that debit card customers are not presented with this fee moving forward.
