He let me know his son, Chris, opened up here on Artesia. I have known Chris from the 190th shop since he was a teenager. I was excited to try his version of his dad's food. One difference is they serve breakfast all day. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito. It is the same simple deliciousness. Couple it with the orange habanero salsa and you have a winner. A nice new location that opened up in the Springtime this year. Pancho's Tacos is a chain restaurant, so if you're familiar with them, you know what to expect. It's a quick service restaurant. You order at the counter, pay, and pick up your order when it's ready. The parking in this plaza is ok. There's a few restaurants and other businesses that share the lot. As usual, we like to come after the lunch rush or before dinnertime. The food here is pretty good. We like their nachos. They cost about a dollar more than our similar go-to restaurant. The amount of meat in these nachos is less than the other restaurant. I do like the chips they use here. They are thin and crunchy. They have a nice habanero salsa we like. This last time it wasn't very spicy but it was tasty. Their salsa bar is self-serve. It has a cover which you open to reveal the contents. I like that because it is more sanitary. They've got salsas, radishes, and limes in there. I would love for them to add the onion/cilantro mix, too, so I don't have to ask the staff for some. Be sure to join their rewards. I received $5 off for my birthday. The tables are stocked with plastic knife and fork in plastic and napkins. There are a few seating options - tables, counters, and the patio. The menu at Pancho's has the standard fare you would expect at a Mexican fast-food restaurant. I haven't had any really standout items, but all the items have been good. Their namesake Tacos are soft shell, with options like a choice of meat, fish, or veggies. I've felt they're perhaps a little Americanized, but fine all the same. The Burritos were similar and had similar meat, fish, and veggie options. The burritos were on the large side. Just like the tacos, everything seems fresh. The Vegetarian Burrito was one of the veggie style burritos that I've had that I can say were very good, especially when some hot sauce from the salsa bar was added. And there are breakfast burritos too. Don't miss the salsa bar. There are three spice levels of sauce, Salsa Verde (mild), Salsa Roja (medium), and Habanero (hot). All the sauces are excellent. The bar also has pickled carrots, sliced lemons, and radish slices. Shortly after they opened, the carrots were accompanied by jalapenos, but recently the jalapenos have been fewer in number. The drink refrigerator is well-stocked with a large variety of drinks. The staff have always been polite, and the interior has always been clean when I've been there. read more

Decided to check this place out one day on my lunch break. Very clean on the inside, plenty of seating. I went like at 11:30am and there was only 2 people eating inside. I looked at the menu, which was pretty big. I decided to order the combo that came with enchiladas and a drink. There was a choice to either have cheese or a choice of meat inside the enchiladas. I chose to have meat and choose asada (beef). I waited about 5 minutes for my food. I observed their sauce bar and was surprised to see how clean it was. They had the food ready. They poured me my drink of choice. I am not sure if they do free refills. I did like the flavor of the food. Portions were good sized. The only complaint is that my enchiladas fell apart. Their street style al pastor tacos with some fresh habanero salsa from the salsa bar are hard to beat! Grab some pickled carrots and onions while you're grabbing salsa. But the best thing on the menu is their breakfast burritos. Try the chorizo, with everything on it. Hit it with some fresh salsa as you go. I'd argue that it's a top 3 breakfast burrito in the South Bay. You'll leave satisfied with a full stomach. Grab a side of fresh fried chips and house salsa if you want a little extra. I got the Breakfast burrito with chorizo and my colleague got the carne asada torta. Staff was super friendly and happy to be open. The salsa bar offered 3 different types of salsa. I tried all three and they were delicious! I didn't take a photo of my food as I was super hungry. But I can say it did not disappoint! The chorizo was a good quality and the hash browns were so nice and crispy!! My friends torta looked and smelled amazing! She said it was tasty. Prices are comparable to other Mexican locations.
