Reasonable price of only $15-$16 per set of katsu. Pork, chicken or shrimp. It's on the right side where the food court is. The service was friendly and quick. The food takes 15 min to make. Definitely fresh considering time it takes. The ambiance is casual and surprisingly lots of people dine in here. Can't go wrong with the crispy pork cutlet and some rice and miso soup. Wow the breading is very light and freshly fried. You can tell the oil that they use is new. Very comforting and delicious. I like to grab it when I don't have time to make at home. Meat is juicy and delicious.

Pork Katsu was cooked perfectly. Very crunchy and tender inside. Service was excellent. Kagura is situated inside Tokyo Central in Gardena. It's a perfect place to eat and shop at the same time.

The katsu sandwich from Kagura Gardena was one of the best impulse food purchases I have made in awhile. The sandwich was hot, well seasoned, tender, and juicy. It doesn't look like much but every bite was a flavor explosion in my mouth. Oh my god. I don't think I can ever go back to eat any other katsu sandwich after Kagura's. It was THAT good and I can't stop thinking about it some nearly 12hrs later. The order can be made in-person and ready in minutes. I thought the customer service was very friendly and efficient. The area has a food court seating inside and outside. I thought that was super neat! I was also able to swipe my Amex here. Parking is plenty right outside of Tokyo Central. I hope everyone gets to try their sandwich. I promise you will have no regrets!

I don't have much experience with katsu so my review is based on my experience. Basically, I don't know how fried pork and shrimp can get better than this is my opinion. It was my first visiting a Tokyo Central and my first eating at Kagura. I felt like I hit the jackpot with both and I can't wait to make the horrendous drive back here again! I ordered the combo plate with two shrimps and a pork filet, which comes with a heaping bowl of rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage. This was reasonably priced at close to $20 and left me satisfied before I perused the market that it is located in. Service was friendly and it wasn't crowded since I was there shortly after it opened.

Kagura is located inside the food court in Tokyo Central. It seemed to be the more popular among the other food spots. We ordered the Pork Katsu Curry Set. After we ordered the cashier did tell us it would be 15 minutes. The tray was served with a plate of sliced pork katsu and rice. There was also a gravy dish with the curry sauce, a cup of miso soup and a shredded cabbage salad w/dressing. Everything looked so good! I loved the dressing for the salad. It was tangy and ginger-y. The pork was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I liked that the gravy was served on the side so you can add the amount you want and the meat also doesn't get soggy. It was very good and I can see why the line was long!

My wife and I stopped by Kagura during a recent visit to LA while we were exploring Tokyo Central. We shared the katsu fillet curry, along with a few other food items from the main grocery store. After placing our order at the counter, we walked around to browse, and by the time we finished exploring -- about 15 minutes later, our food was ready for pick-up. We brought it out to the patio area to eat, and even around noon, there was plenty of seating available. The katsu was thick! At first glance, it looked a bit overcooked, but I was pleasantly surprised: despite its size, the cutlet was perfectly cooked and incredibly juicy. The breading had just the right thickness, with crackly bits of panko that allowed the curry to seep into all the little crevices, making every bite super flavorful. For to-go orders, the curry is packed separately, and it's the perfect amount -- enough to dip each slice of katsu and to generously spoon over the rice. If you like heat, don't skip the spicy yellow mustard next to the pickles in the bento box. Lastly, the miso soup included with the meal was a nice bonus. If you're looking for an affordable, satisfying and delicious katsu lunch, you absolutely need to stop by Kagura. It's easily some of the best katsu I've had in a long time.

Located next to Tokyo Central, this is one of our favorite spots for authentic Japanese style tonkatsu. The quality is superb and the prices are fair while includes miso soup. Their products truly remains me of the quality, texture and flavors of Japan. Totally recommended!

Food - tonkatsu loin was perfectly cooked to order. Waited about 10-15 minutes, but worth the wait. Crispy panko crust with a juicy and pork tender inside. Rice was hot and just the right sticky icky. Also fresh and balanced miso soup with some freshly shaved cabbage. Service - very receptive and quick. Food came out within the time mentioned. Cleanliness- looks clean and organize behind the counter. Price- great value for the quality and quantity of food. Additional notes- 4 other food vendors at this site including great dishes served at the main market. You can have a variety of choices here. Parking - plenty

Located inside of the Tokyo Central market in the corner, Kagura is stationed food court style. The lady at the counter was very nice and I was able to choose what I wanted easily thanks to their display case on the right side of the counter. I chose to get the pork loin tonkatsu plate, which costed me about $14.25, a reasonable price. Different vendors use their voices call out order numbers throughout the court. We came here on a Thursday afternoon, so there were plenty of seats to sit at and the outdoor seating area was also not in use. I waited for about 10-15 minutes for my order, and I was pleased at how the tray looked. I get a large plate with a large slice of pork tonkatsu cut into strips ontop of a large set of shredded cabbage. There is a dash of wasabi smeared on the side of the plate and there are slices of jalapeno. On the side is a cup of rice and a side of sauce. I also get a cup of miso soup, which had a very fishy taste and was a bit powdery, yet smooth. Chewing the pork, I enjoyed how light the crisp layer is and how it felt like it was melting in my mouth. The pork loin had some very chewy sections that were fatty, which I enjoyed. I found the portion and ratio of everything to be just right, although it felt like a lot of cabbage but it was fine. You definitely need to dip the meat in the sauce every now and then for a nice flavor combination because it can get a bit plain and bland without it. You can also eat the wasabi or the jalapeno but I wanted to avoid spiciness! I do wish those two things were put off to the side too and not on the plate, but it was fairly easy to avoid touching the rest of the plate.

Really liked their chicken Katsu set. I wasn't expecting it to be slightly spicy but it was definitely a good change from what I've had in the past. The Katsu is also nice and crispy Staff is super nice and polite. It does get crowded on the weekends around lunchtime

Bought a Katsu curry plate to go. Included miso soup. Overall pretty good. Katsu was crispy and curry was good. Took about 15 minutes, so made fresh to order. Ambience is connected to tokyo central's small food court, so it was hard to find a place to sit to even wait for food. Wouldn't recommend for a date, but to grab food to go. I imagine weekends it is even busier with less parking.

If you're craving authentic Japanese comfort food wrapped in a vibe that whispers "psst... you…read moredeserve privacy", This is the spot. The private booths alone made me feel like I was signing a secret business deal, except the only thing I was negotiating was how much more food I could fit into my stomach. Every dish came out looking like it had been through a glow‑up montage. So delicious! * Unagi -- Melted in my mouth like it had a personal vendetta against being solid. Sweet, buttery, and dangerously addictive. * Katsu -- Crispy enough to be heard across the booth. If this dish had a crunchy Japanese category, this would be the headliner. * Spicy tuna -- The perfect balance of heat and flavor. Not "call the fire department" spicy, but definitely "I see you trying to impress me" spicy. * Seared tuna, Elegant, silky, and so fresh it probably had plans later. * Uni pasta, Listen... this dish is a commitment. Creamy, ocean‑kissed, and luxurious. It's the kind of pasta that makes you sit back and reevaluate your life choices, in a good way. * Sake - WOW ...My delicious sake was smooth, floral, and paired with everything like it had studied my taste buds in advance. The staff here operate with polite ninja efficiency. They appear, refill, deliver, and disappear before you can even say "arigato." Not rushed, not pushy, just clean, respectful Japanese hospitality that makes you feel taken care of. "Always remember the energy you give....is the energy you get in return!" The private booths are the star of the show. Cozy, warm lighting, and enough privacy to talk chisme without worrying about the table next to you judging your life choices. It's intimate without being cramped, like a little wooden cocoon of comfort. Kagura is one of those Torrance gems that hits every category: authentic food, quiet comfort, top‑tier service, and dishes that make you want to come back before you've even left the parking lot, oh and let me remind you how small that parking lot is, be prepared. If you're into Japanese cuisine that feels both homey and elevated, this is your spot. Living life one bite at a time...go and enjoy yourself! Miguel C.

The inside decor was home-y, with regular seating and a few tatami rooms. Had a rsvp for a booth and was sat immediately. I usually read through the Yelp comments and look at the photos before trying a new place, but this time I only checked the rating -- which was great -- and decided to go based on that and the FB post. Looking back, I probably should have read the reviews first. We didn't realize the bento boxes are only available during lunchtime, and we were also surprised to find out they don't have yakitori. Those were two things we were hoping to try. We came with a party and ordered several items, including the Akatsuki Special Hot Pot, which was recommended to us, along with other dishes. The tempura and karaage were definitely the highlights -- both were really good. The rest of the food was okay for our group, but unfortunately it didn't really satisfy our craving or stand out the way we were hoping. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly. I think the biggest thing was that our expectations were set by what we saw on FB, and the items that caught our attention weren't available when we visited. I would recommend checking their current menu before going so you know what to expect. Maybe we'll come back another time to try their lunch menu and explore more of what they offer.
