Stopped by for dinner tonight with some friends, and had a nice time overall. Las Brisas is located right off Artesia Blvd, with plenty of street parking nearby. The restaurant has a very old school, no-frills vibe which reminds me of the Mexican restaurants of my youth. The staff are super friendly and quick to serve. I really loved their chips and salsa (their salsas were super flavorful and spicy), however the rest of the food was just ok. I got the chicken fajitas with meatball soup, and everything was quite salty for my taste. It definitely had a home-cooked meal vibe to it, but just wasn't as fresh and seasoned as I would hope. I'd say it's worth checking out at least once if you're in the area, especially to grab a drink and snack on their chips and salsa while watching a game. read more

This was a good stop! Love a small neighborhood business and this one certainly fits the bill. Seated a party of four right away and very reasonably priced entrees. I had the chicken fajitas which were a decent portion with tortillas for $15. I also tried a strawberry margarita which was blended but very tasty. All entrees come with a side of soup or salad. Let me start off by saying ... I'm not sure why this spot is not more busy, it's really quite good! I never really realized it was there, passed by many times, however we gave it a try about 2 weeks ago and within 10 days we went 3 times! The staff is very friendly/nice and helpful with question, restaurant is very clean with plenty of seating, small bar area inside and tv's with sports games on inside restaurant if that's your thing and the food, is good, it's not greasy like some Mexican food, it's more authentic food not elevated fancy Mexican, portions are a good size, prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be regulars here! Nice space. Very friendly staff. Absolutely horrible food. The green salsa was good, the brown (red?) salsa was all salt. The chile verde was flavorless and spice-free. The chile and rice were not hot, only lukewarm. The pieces of chile were tiny and the portion was small. The shrimp fish my wife had was also very bland. Try the Chile Verde at La Paz #2 on Aviation. When a favorite restaurant closes, we seek to replace it with a new favorite and sometimes the search isn't easy. We've dined at Las Brisas a few times; the service is always friendly and the food is decent. I've had better margaritas but the ones served here work just fine especially if your interest is to imbibe somewhere close to home. Las Brisas is that for me. I'm not convinced Las Brisas is the replacement, so the search will continue. My seafood loving guy wishes there were fish dishes instead of just shrimp. I'd love it if they served nuclear hot cheese and chips; yes, it's a treat, but it's not on the menu so there's that. At one time there were two types of salsa, I'll have to ask about this on the next visit. There is a private parking lot, but note parking can get wonky during the peak dining hours so wear your patience hat. Las Brisas also has a sub level event space that's roomy and can be reserved/rented. This last visit allowed us to gauge whether or not it's worthy of another visit...it is, we'll do it soon. read more

So we have been coming steadily for the past 3-4 months because they have really good folded crunchy ground beef tacos and cactus soup. However past 2 visits the enchiladas have been very dry and when we asked our server tonight about it, she literally took my wife's fork and cut into it then said yes it's dry... you want more sauce. We accepted a cup of sauce last time, however sadly the sauce cup did not fix a dried out cheese quesadilla, this time when she offered more sauce, we declined and we just wanted the item removed from the bill, this is where she got rude. So we paid and left ... luckily there are dozens of options for Mexican food with cheesy enchiladas and no attitude when a bad item is brought to their attention. Truly unfortunate. read more

I rarely give a restaurant a 1 star review, but our experience was not good. The restaurant was highly recommended, but it came no where near to our expectations. I had a tostada salad with beef, which was a green salad on top of a tostada. The beef was cooked in a red sauce that tasted like tomato sauce. My husband had the same experience with his dinner. The worst was the chili relleno, which was not cooked in the traditional way. The topping on our experience was that I was bitten by ants. We were seated in a section that was swarming with ants in the booth we were sitting in. When we brought it to our servers attention, he said he knew about it and that they couldn't spray until after the restaurant closed. Not an "I'm sorry," just here's your check. We paid and left. We told the hotel owner not to recommend this place to anyone, and he was shocked about our experience. read more

Great place for blended margaritas and cactus soup! Very good entrees and cozy decor. The salsa is a little too spicy but they have a very yummy verde sauce. For July reunion weekend we planned a celebration to honor our classmate that had died. We made reservation way in advance, we always setup and clean up when we come, but this time they cancelled our reservation in less than a week before the event because they said that the staff were taking vacations and had no help, we had people driving and flying in from all over! Based on my first and only visit to this restaurant, we will not be returning. We were a group of 3 and were able to be seated immediately. Our table was served chips and salsa, and drink orders were taken upon arrival. We ordered 2 blended margaritas (mango and strawberry) and one regular. The blended ones were good, but the regular margarita came with an extra garnish of a small brown moth. As we were waiting for a server to come over, take our order and ask for a replacement for the drink. We waited over 40 minutes, watching all the surrounding tables be seated, waited on, and served. All the while, no one once came to check on us. It wasn't until one of my group members started to get up to leave that a woman rushed over to try and take our order. We informed her we would not be dining her as we've been waiting long enough, and we were dissatisfied with the service. She insisted on taking our order, and it took each of us telling her no that she then let us pay for 2 of the drinks. Friday night live music and great food back in the 80's. Las Brisas was always packed! Over the years I saw it change a little bit and stopped coming. Recently I noticed they had live music again and decided to give it a try. Man is it AMAZING again! If you haven't been in some time, you must come back and give it another try. I ordered carne asana quesadilla. No rice. No beans. I pick up, it is 14 dollars and change. There was a sour cream. Meat is better quality than most places. But OMG!!!!!!!!!!! They over charged me. We asked for refills on water and never got them but the staff was friendly and our orders were correct when they arrived. The portions are decent sized but the food tasted cheap (for example, the veggies in the soup tasted like they came out of a bag of frozen veggies). Again, though, for the price, we should have probably expected that. I can't comment on the cocktails because we didn't have any, but the margaritas looked good. I really can't believe I'm gonna say this but I feel that I have to; this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. And for Redondo Beach, that's saying a lot. In the case of las brisas, this restaurant could be on top of the Eiffel Tower in France, and the quality of this food would make you leap, just to end the dinner. We started with guacamole for an appetizer, while looking through the menus. To my astonishment the guacamole that was brought to our table looked like soup. I'm almost positive that this guacamole was store bought because I can see no reason for someone to make it like this. It is very reminiscent of the guacamole sauce at el polo loco, minus any taste at all. My wife ordered camarones la verde. Super thin soup like substance green sauce with re heated shrimp. I decided to play it safe after seeing the guacamole and went with the chicken taco, tamale, combination. The tamale was pretty stale, and the chicken taco was complete slop. I always judge a Hispanic restaurant by their beans, and these re heated, multiple day old bland beans, were a true representation of las brisas. It's really hard for me to explain the quality of this food without using obscene expletives, but I will tell you that mid way through this meal, Taco Bell down the street started looking like a Michelin star restaurant to us. I'm just completely astounded how a restaurant like this stays in existence. The quality of food in the South Bay always astounds me, but this one took it to the next level.
