Nice owner lady charged and popped this robot up so my fussy toddler could watch it while eating...this lady is a queen!

Popping music and fantastic service, even for non-customers; what's not to love? Support this lovely lady. We were about to eat another food court restaurant's food at the table right in front of Katsu Nuna when our toddler decided to scream and cry at the top of her lungs. In comes Katsu Nuna's owner who cried, "Baby!" and had plopped a little pink robot by the cash register for her to watch. She remained calm the rest of the time while eating and watching the robot. When the robot ran out of power, the lady took it and charged it further so my toddler could still enjoy it. Wow...just wow. I noticed she is very proud of her food and restaurant and it shows in the way she interacted with her customers. We will definitely be back next time to support this business. Prices for Katsu are very reasonable and smell and look delicious from what I can see. I like that they have a variety of options (chicken, pork, cheese, fish, shrimp, curry) and udon / Katsu combos. Come support this wonderful lady!

Finally got to check this place out. It's been popping up on my Yelp. It's inside a super market so there's ample amount of parking outside. The food court was incredibly disappointing. I thought there would be a lot of other choices for us to try but there's 3 shops open and 3 empty spots. And let's just say we didn't want to try the other choices. On to the food. We ordered curry pork katsu and cheese pork katsu. The cheese pork katsu came luke warm which was incredibly disappointing. I was expecting burn my tongue hot as cheese does not taste as good cold. Also the pork was so dry that it was borderline hard. The miso soup was watered down (taste just like water with a hint of miso) the coleslaw salad was good. Fresh and crispy and I liked the sauce. I'm not sure what sauce came w this dish but I didn't like it. The curry pork katsu was better and the curry tasted really good. The batter was light and crispy but same issue w the pork...dry. Overall: service was fantastic and the lady offered free rice refill which was a major plus but there are many other katsu places in this area and the food court was a bust. Chances of return - most likely not.

Food is good and the owner is so sweet. Well, I think she's the owner. We've tried this place twice already - one was takeout and one was dine in. They both taste the same on each occasion. Their sauces are delicious. And the udon broth is so good too! Everything was good. I believe I got the pork nuna and my husband got the chicken curry w udon combo (I'm not sure if I got the names right). This place is located inside Hannam Chain's food court. There's plenty of seating. We dined in for lunch and there were plenty of seats. Price was good too - I believe we spent $25-30 for 2 meals. There's a lot of parking spaces too. Will definitely be back!

    Daily Special on Friday.

This place is a hidden gem. We stopped by for a quick lunch and left seriously impressed. From the friendly staff to the generous portions, everything hit the mark. As we walked up, the staff greeted us warmly and pointed out the daily special--the OMG Hamburger Steak Special for $12.99; (we visited on a Friday). We ordered that along with the #1 Katsu, and both dishes delivered. The portions were big, packed with protein, and each plate came with rice, salad, and soup, all nicely presented. The location itself was clean, spacious, and had plenty of seating. No complaints at all. I'll definitely be coming back

Always such good food! We've come a few times and the katsu is always excellent. Perfectly fried, paired with such a delicious sauce. This time we tried one of the combos with katsu and udon which was a great choice. The udon had so much flavor and the portions of both were large, the katsu came with salad, rice, and pickled radish. The service is friendly and helpful, the lady at the front was so kind to our son

Located in the Hannam Chain Market food court, it's a solid place to get Korean styled katsu rice dishes. There's a limited amount of tables and seating, but my friend and I were able to snag a table before the super big rush of families coming in for Saturday lunch got there. Restrooms were nice and clean and there's free water, just ask for cups. Similar to all the other eateries in the food court, you have a buzzer that will summon you when the food is ready. Since they make the katsu hot and fresh, it make take a bit of time. The menu is quite simple and most come with a side of miso soup, takuan pickled radishes, and a simple chopped cabbage salad. I shared the cheese katsu with my friend and it's a decent portion. We asked for an extra dish to share and I got a cute Winnie the Pooh dish (probably meant for kids). The cheese katsu generally goes with their slightly savory, sour katsu sauce, but we were curious about the curry and the worker was nice enough to give us a small side of curry sauce to dip the katsu in (not bad, but they're right, the katsu sauce definitely goes better with the cheese katsu). The cheese is mozzarella cheese and they do NOT skimp on the cheese, super gooey. It's like a side of katsu pork with the main dish of cheese. It is a bit salty and really heavy to eat, but very filling, but not bad. If I'm back again, I want to try their hamburg steak.

    Alexis C.

The katsu here was so good!!! The breading is really really light so it's not overly greasy. I'd suggest the classic pork. If you like curry that's also a good option. Honestly my favorite katsu I've had here in Torrance. It's so good and this was what I chose to be my first meal I had after coming back from Tokyo LOL. Nice spot in the Hanam Chain food court so the seating availability varies. Service was good and really fast, we got our food within 10 mins of ordering.

Cool little place... it's located inside a grocery store/ mini food court. We got our food pretty fast and it was delicious. We loved the curry it was the perfect consistency and it wasn't too thick.

Located in the Hannam Chain food court. I was decently surprised by the Katsu here! Looks like a normal plate but the flavors were outstanding and the Katsu breading was sooo good! Like super light and flaky. And the curry flavor was on point as well. The plate came with miso soup and some cabbage salad. That Katsu though. The chicken was moist and had a good flavor to it. Just an outstanding dish. I only got to try a bite cause the family swarmed it... but it was a fantastic bite. I'll go out of my way to get this again. And next time, I'll have an entire plate to myself! Mua-ha-ha! Their other dishes looked outstanding as well and by looking at the reviews, it appears I may have to explore the menu a little more. Definitely coming back.

If you've heard great things about this place, believe them! This is a fairly new eatery inside the Hannam Chain Market. We initially came to the market specifically to try out Katsu Nuna. We've been here three time already, since it opened in Dec. of 2023! Over the three months, they've added a few things to their menu and have increased their prices. For example, their Fish Katsu & Udon Combo was $19.99 in Dec. 2023, and is $22.99 in Feb. 2024. I hope they don't raise their prices too much more, but I also hope that they remain open and succeed! I believe this stall is owned & run by a husband/wife team. The man behind the counter (Adolfo, I think), is friendly and welcoming. In fact, on our most recent visit, he remembered my husband ordered the Hamburg Steak last time! Here, you order at the counter, pay & receive a buzzer which lets you know when to go pick up your order. There are plenty of tables to eat at in the food court, for now. They really serve up delicious food! The menu is small and I feel that gives them the ability to focus and create consistent food. I love their Udon! The noodles have a nice chew to them and the broth is flavorsome! Back in Dec., it used to include two Shrimp Tempura in the Udon, but they have since omitted their inclusion. Boo hoo!! We've ordered the Fish Katsu & Udon Combo twice. I focus on the Udon and hubby eats the Fish Katsu. I enjoy their light breading on the katsu. The fish is nicely fried and succulent. Served with the fish katsu is a nice sauce, rice, slaw salad, pickled radish, & miso soup, Hubby has had the Hamburg Steak. I think he prefers this since it isn't a fried item even though the fish is great! I would love it if they would add another Combo of Hamburg Steak & Udon to their menu! Please!! I have my sights set on the Cheese Donkatsu, but I'm not so sure I'd want to eat 3 of them. I could probably only enjoy one because of the amount of cheese. We've already been here in Feb., but this month is still early, so I might be back before March arrives! This is definitely in our rotation of places to go! I was looking for a katsu spot in Torrance and stumbled upon Katsu Nuna! It's a small food stall inside Hannam Chain Market. The owner is such a vibrant and sweet character which made the experience even better. I didn't get a chance to take a photo of my food because it was just that good. The chicken and pork katsu were excellent, perfectly crunchy breading and it is served with rice, salad, and soup. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Tried Katsu Nuna just on a whim. We originally were planning on trying black bean noodles but them we stumbled across Katsu Nuna. The owner described it and emphasized the time and effort that went into making the Katsu so we decided to try it. We weren't disappointed. The chicken was moist and tender and both the curry and nuna sauces were tasty. It was a good dinner choice!

    Cheese katsu to-go order
    Kylie O.

What initially drew me to try Katsu Nuna was a picture of their cheese katsu and man it did not disappoint! You can find them inside Hannam Market in the food court section. It's been cool because they give you a buzzer which allows you to look around in the market until your food is ready. I actually took the cheese katsu to-go and I was surprised that it was still crispy by the time I got home! The only sad part was no cheese pull but that's okay because the taste made up for it! It came with miso soup, salad, rice, and this tomato-based sauce that went really well with the cheese katsu! Service was great, and the staff was friendly. There's lots of seating in the food court area which is great too. I'll def be back to enjoy it there and hope for a cheese pull!

Get there before 5 to grab a seat because the place fills up QUICK. Inside is small and narrow. If you're not a big eater, share a dish. Their portions are HUGE!! Biggest plates I've seen for a Japanese restaurant. The servers there work hard and try to be quick as possible. I would definitely come back here.

With so many options, it was honestly a little overwhelming to choose. I decided to keep things simple and ordered the sashimi and broiled mackerel fish set, which came with rice, miso soup, cabbage salad, and macaroni salad. My husband couldn't settle on just one dish, so he went all out with a chicken oyakodon, grilled salmon, steamed eggplant, and a stir-fried chicken and bean sprout dish. The restaurant itself is narrow and deep, which actually reminded me of some of the small alleyway restaurants we visited during our travels in Japan. It added to the cozy and authentic feel. The service was attentive, especially when we requested a few extra items. One thing that really stood out was their ponzu sauce. It seemed to include green onions and perhaps a touch of vinegar, and it was absolutely delicious. It paired perfectly with the sashimi, steamed eggplant, and even the chicken dishes. Next time, I'm definitely going to spend some time studying the menu beforehand. The portions were generous enough that we had leftovers for another meal, and we were lucky enough to find parking right in front of the restaurant.
