Birria queso taco goes for a dip in the meaty consommé.
    Marc S.

My kid said," you know what sounds good? Birria." Birria is good. Ever tried Birria Ramen? Also good. Cocina Los V. Specializes in Birria in all forms. Tacos (regular and dorado), quesadillas, mulitas, vampiros and of course Birria ramen. We were running later than we'd hoped and were worried they might sell out (as they often do) before we arrived. They answered the phone (!) and assured us they were still open, took my name and asked what we were thinking about getting so they could accommodate us. We were still 15 minutes away.. A few minutes later they called back and took our order over the phone to be sure we'd get Birria. Totally above and beyond customer service! We arrived, parked right behind the truck and picked up our order: 3 queso tacos, nachos, a quesadilla and some consommé for dipping of course & drinks. All with tasty Birria inside. We grabbed a nearby table and got down to business. Everything was so very tasty and satisfying. The service was friendly and helpful. We were the last customers of the day and they waited for us. Awesome. If you like Birria or if you've never tried it, go here and thank me and Cocina Los V later. Delicioso!!!!!

It's taken me WAY too long to try Cocina Los V and I am kicking myself for sleepin' on this place. First of all, these guys crack me up - solidly sweet dudes with a great sense of humor and customer service! Second of all, all their food is FIRE! Tried their dorado tacos, vampiros, and cheesy ramen birria and omg I loved ALL OF IT. Their birria is one of the bests I've ever had (super authentic and flavorful) and their meat is so tender and juicy. We also loved their salsa - great spice and flavor which just added to the already tasty meat. Come early too - this place gets poppin' and you wanna grab some grub before they run out!

We drove north from San Diego just to try this amazing birria. The price is worth it and the services is great

It was worth the trip to the Eastside--very hot, fresh & delicious. Got blessed with a free birria taco, too! The birriamen & quesabirria were a perfect 1-2 punch combo & we'll definitely be back...early morning at that!

Tacos dorados! Really miss these crunchy delight! I would recommend adding cheese inside and getting a warm consome (broth) then dip and go. Right now the stand is closed but I order thru their Instagram @cocina.los.v they do curbside pick ups due to covid-19 would definitely recommend

Favorite dish: The quesa tacos Service: Very friendly staff! Dining experience: Street food style, there is a table and chairs set up. Check this spot out early on Sat and Sunday. They usually sell out around 11 am

Food is so amazing. Only sad part that I live in Palmdale and drive to East LA and only for the weekends, the food is so good.

I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Parking is tricky since its street parking only.

I love the Cabeza tortilla and 3 is the perfect number of tacos for me as they are pretty generous with the meat and avocado sauce. Been here twice and both times because we were going to a show at the Forum which is just a short drive away. It gets pretty busy around dinner time so expect a long wait as the line moves pretty slowly (everything is made/ cooked fresh!)... but the wait is 100% worth it. Just make sure you order enough the first time so you dont have to wait in line again. There is some parking but it gets pretty crowded too so you might have to street park (and the area around can get a little sketch) so be careful. The second time we came here was almost 1130pm right before their midnight closing. This time, the parking lot was emptier so we managed to park inside. There was still a pretty steady stream of customers even around closing, but at least the line isn't ridiculously long. Can't go wrong with anything you order here!

Nonetheless, the pastor was still amazing and it's great that they add copious amounts of meat on there. My friend also got a burrito and I heated it up the next day to enjoy and it still tasted awesome. My review might be slightly skewed as Mexican food is depressing up in Canada so any semblance of authentic Mexican food gets me going. I will have to return to LA soon...just for the tacos here.

I do like how they grill their meat though and they use the tortillas to scoop up the meat on the grill. Thought the al pastor was a bit salty and the cheese did not add much flavor to it, but that's probably a good thing considering the saltiness of the meat. Also, make sure you ask them for pineapples since they did not include it until we asked. They do have them sliced up in a container by the meats. Ambience is very casual and it's a stand while eating type of situation. Service was quick.

You can tell that it's house made and I liked the chewy texture of it. However, respectfully the filling felt and tasted like bean goo. I could only really taste the refried bean flavor which was strong. It kind of meshed all the components together into a gooey filling. I got this with asada meat and the meat was kind of chewy and not so flavorful on its own. Props to the tortilla though for not spilling everything out and holding it together well, but still a bit difficult to eat. I would ask for utensils when eating this dish. The green onion garnish was unique. I wish they gave more lime wedges because that helped elevate the dish. For $13 this wasn't too bad, but I'd rather get a better burrito from a street vendor. This is a casual eats type of place with both indoor and outdoor seating and tables. They also serve alcohol and even frozen alcoholic drinks. They have a free parking lot in front, but it can be competitive to get a spot. Overall, my experience here was just okay and I would opt for other spots.
