    Al Pastor Tacos & Horchata

A couple of freshly made pastor tacos and some cold horchata on a hot summer night in East LA hits the spot for me!! Polite and friendly service and good size tacos for a taco truck first time trying this taco truck on Olympic between Fraser and Ferris and the food was pretty good and their salsa was nice and spicy.... The trucks conveniently located and stays out pretty late in the evening Perfect for anyone craving a decent taco for your taco Tuesday 10pm craving .... The ambience is a typical outdoors taco truck late night experience!!

Best birria in California hands down. I go here all the time and the quality never disappoints. The best thing about this place is the consistency and quality of the meat. There is literally no fat in the consomé or tacos it's all meat. Use the green sauce if you come eat here it's the best I've had as well. The cheese used is also very good. They have a variety of drinks to get as well. My favorite place to go get birria. The lady that works the register is cute and always has a good attitude as a plus.

The best Birria Tacos I've tried to date! Finger lickin good! Good service , friendly faces, and great flavor! Ask for extra crispy with extra green salsa. 3 tacos with a side of consomé is the perfect combo. I really hope they open a restaurant here soon! So AMAZING! 100% recommended and worth the drive :) Best tacos in LA hands down...YES I said it!

These birria tacos are some of the best I've had. They have a 3rd location in El monte. In front of Mazatlan Market. The meat is super tender and flavorful. The side sauces are some of the best. The red one has a good kick to it and the green sauce is heaven, my favorite. They also have an additional red paste chili oil type thing and it's like it's own Mexican satay, super good. But the thing that put it over the top was the consume. Holy shit. The costume is so good I could drink that thing like water. Definitely recommend coming to the El monte location if you are around that one. Also stop in the market in front. Mazatlan market. The owners are super friendly.

    True love.

This spot is FIREEEE! Order 3 tacos and ask for extra salsa green and red and you're done.

Visiting from Monterey originally from Puebla Mexico, and Found this taco stand in the side of the road. They were AMAIZING! service is great. I had two birria tacos and the birria consomé. My kids are gringos pikis and eat one taco each for lunch! Los tacos están buenos y el servicio está chingon. Buen precio los tacos ricos y el consomé de birria bien rico también. Todo lo tienen bien limpiecito y te atienden rápido.

    Best Birria EVER!

The menu is quite simple, but beware that no prices are listed on the main menu, but they are on the paper menus. They accept Apple Pay/credit cards. I ordered the asada burrito and the pollo caramelo and added the grilled poblano (as recommended on Yelp!). The tortillas were the true stars -- soft, nice chew, with a buttery mouth feel (probably lard). The fillings were just ok. The inside reminded me of a Taco Bell 7 layer burrito -- a lot going on but all the flavors kinda blend together. I (incorrectly) thought the beans were refried, but they are not. Whatever is going on inside, I didn't find much structure. The burrito was the best. The caramelo was a lazily folded burrito. I read that it was like a quesadilla, but I couldn't disagree more. I would skip this next time. I spent $25 and it was a lot of food, but I wasn't impressed, especially given the hype and the fact that LA should really be the pinnacle of Mexican food. Not sure if I'll make a second trip here.

I ordered two carne asada, one chorizo, and one al pastor. The condiment setup was also really good. Let me tell you, this hit the spot! I loved the grilled onions, serranos, hot sauce, and especially the curtido de habanero,so good. The carne asada was okay slightly on the tougher side but the chorizo and al pastor were really solid. I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Parking is tricky since its street parking only.

Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

We found easy street parking in the neighborhood on 41st Street, and waited in line for about 15-20 minutes. We ordered the asada tacos. They pre-sauce your tacos, which was fine by me, but my boyfriend who can't handle as much spice would've preferred it on the side (so warning for anyone similar! they do put a little habanero on them, so just ask them for salsa on the side). I think I ran into a problem of reading too many raving reviews -- these tacos were good but I was expecting them to be mind blowing, so I was a little disappointed. I tasted the charcoal char, but kind of wished the taste was more pronounced, or at least the meat more seasoned. The hand made tortillas were definitely the coolest part, but I thought they were a little dry too. The ladies whipping those out are artists though. Actually, all the workers here have the assembly line down to the tea, and they definitely add a little flare for a show. I particularly liked how they had a lot of seating at this location, instead of just a couple stools lying around like most taco trucks. It felt more like outdoor patio seating than a normal taco stand. They could probably take more time to wipe down tables more often though. Overall would visit again if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way for the tacos here.

It was my first visit so I had to get a mix of their tacos and burritos with the various meats they serve. It was a nice fact to know their tortillas have some lard also so it adds a nice flavor as well. + Burrito 2.0 (asada) + Chivichanga (chicken and beef) + Tacos (chorizo, tripe, cabeza, asada) I enjoyed the burrito with asada and thought it was good portion size for the cost. The guac, cheese, and beans pair well with the meat and has a nice grill on the tortilla. The tacos were a solid size as well but I was surprised to find the tripe as my favorite because they fry it and it adds a nice crunch/texture change. The cabeza was a close second with the stewed flavors. The chivichangas were also tasty but not the traditional chimichanga I was anticipating. It's definitely on the softer side as everything mixes together and there's not much of a texture change. Worth trying if you are curious though. I ordered to go so I didn't see if they have a salsa bar but I did have to pay $.10 per to go container which would be nice if they were free. However, I liked mixing their red and green salsa with each bite. I am curious to try their avocado salsa next time.
