I was meeting a friend for brunch. We decided to try CoCo & Blu. It was a Monday mid-morning, and the place was quite busy with people working on their laptop, or catching up with each other. There was no line, so we were able to place our order. It must have been a busy morning because they were already out of many of the pastry, avocadoes, bagels, and one of the coffee beans. We ended up having pour over coffee, crustless quiche, and Salmon Lox sub with Sour Dough. The portion of smoked salmon was very generous! This is COCO&BLU, 1 hot chocolate & 1 pastry is $25.00, 2 hot chocolates & 2 pastries + 20% tip came to $50.00. Great meeting place with very good coffee and food. Can't tell you how many times I've walked out as the line is crazy and super slow. Constantly new people on register and super slow. Nice service by cashier Margaret, and nice ambiance, but bitter and expensive coffee. You get a choice of Nitro Cold Brew or just Cold Brew which comes in 12oz($4.50) or 16oz ($5.50) and you get a choice to add a milk alternative ($0.90) such as almond milk, oat milk, or pistachio milk. I'm happy I tried pistachio milk, but it doesn't mix well in liquid as you constantly have to stir it, but it's an interesting flavor. I'd recommend a sweeter drink though. read more

The turkey and brie is sweet and tangy with a nice crispy crunch from sourdough bread. The BLT is simple yet fresh and delicious. Walking down Dunton for my monthly visit to Manhattan Lashes... I passed by something new and cute. It looked like a French Bistro or coffee shop with pretty chandeliers and bright electric blue accents. So I definitely noted to myself, it was a place I was going to check out on my way back... and it was a good call. Stopped in with a pal for a leisurely coffee and some avocado toast, as well as a Madeleine. The place has just opened, and taken the real estate from a clothing boutique hence the fancier ceiling lighting ... the interior has an eclectic boho French provencal artsy vibe and is SO much nicer than the average chain coffee shop... which makes sense, since it's a SBO place, run by a couple who also own a local flower shop. Lots of room to sit and lounge, get some coffee, pastries, light meals (or cocktails) it seems, outclassing the nearby Starbucks by miles. Some of the prices seem inflated to my thrifty hiney, while others seem standard, but it's a nice place to check out in downtown Arli for its serene ambiance and chill, low-key fancy decor, down to the gorgeous plates and tea cups. i don't usually like coming to these breakfast places on a saturday morning given the usual wait times but was pleasantly surprised at how quick our food came out! my initial impression was what a cute place this was! with couches, artwork,and a grand piano for a place that doesn't seem that big.. somehow it all worked. i did notice as i got closer to the furniture a lots of stains on couches and the tables were a little sticky which turned me off a little but my little one enjoyed sitting on the couches instead of the usual chairs and tables (which they also have). you order food at the counter (full menu is at the cash register which seems a little inconvenient but they also had some of the popular/new items written in chalkboard) and grab a number and seat yourself! we ordered the matcha tea latte with oat milk which was delicious ( but expensive!!) and the crustless quiche which i thought was so so good! the quiche came with a side of fresh blueberries and bananas which was a plus! i do think this place could do more somehow.. maybe a bit cleaner would be nice but will definitely give more of the food items a try again! read more

I had the vegetarian quiche with frisee salad and buttermilk herb dressing, Almond Joy latte (iced), salted chocolate chip cookie, and 1 vanilla and 1 raspberry macaron. I think the food is pretty standard but tasty. The coffee wasn't great but I think it was the iced option that didn't do the trick for me. The ambiance here is delightful, though, and evocative of a French bistro. Come early for the pastries because they sell out quick. The staff here are also terrific and helpful! Great coffee drinks and food, but I recently had an experience that made me question if I'll go back there again. Today, I decided to go there for dinner and a nice coffee drink. I ordered a Crustless Vegetarian Quiche (delicious) and my Go-To coffee drink of a Lavender Blu Latte. The issue here is when I asked for my receipt - cashier guy relieved that the price of that Latte had been upped to $6 for that same drink without the menu price being changed. The owners decided not to change the price on the menu but still charged the new price. This was the only coffee drink this happened to too. I wasn't refunded. Decent seating there, but still, change the menu price if you are changing the drink pricing! Accurate pricing is good for your customers' wallets and likelihood of visiting your cafe again. Loved it! This is a really cute place with everything you need from a cafe! I was trying to look for a cute spot that reminds me of those in Paris... its missing the Eiffel Tower view obviously. Not gonna lie, kind of ugly outdoor view. But everything inside makes up for it. Its an average sized cafe. Small enough where you might see a small crowding at the line but big enough for personal space in my opinion. Just note that its quite pricey. I went after reviewing the menu so I'm completely fine with it. Also if you want croissants, make sure you go right when they open. I went an hour and a half after opening and the regular croissants were out already! By the time I started to leave the other pastries are gone. Something borrowed, something blue and coffee. Trendy, yet cozy. Beautiful coffee shop with delicious treats. If you sit in front by the blue bar, there is more of a modern vibe. Or you can make your way back towards the piano to sit on your grandmother's 1960's sofa. Don't miss the wallpaper! No spoilers... you'll have to check it out for yourself. We tried the nitro coffee and a fireside latte. The nitro is a cold coffee that packs a punch. Think s'mores for the fireside latte. You can sub dairy milk for oat or almond milk. We also tried the apricot danish. One of the best pastries! There is an actual half of apricot baked into the middle of a flaky croissant type dough. The pastries are currently on an open tray on the counter by a register. Eww. This is cold season. Don't particularly like the concept of people coughing on the cookies. Hoping they will get a glass case. One other suggestion... it would be super helpful if your menu had a brief description of each coffee (light roast, dark roast, etc) or latte. Great location on Dunton in downtown Arlington Heights. Easy enough to find street parking or park in the big garage and walk a couple of blocks.
