This gluten-free lady is so happy to have found this treasure! First, we spoke with 3 different people there and all of them were super friendly, well-informed, and just plain delightful. The place is small but uses the space well and makes the most seating it can. I even saw some seats outside. I ordered way too much food because I needed to sample since I rarely get this kind of treat. I haven't had bread sticks in something like 16 years. These did not disappoint! Everything there is gluten free and vegan. I'm not vegan and found everything to taste delicious. I had a breakfast sandwich with "eggs", "cheese", and "sausage". The English muffin is a bit more like a biscuit but tastes great and not crumbly. We also tried the cinnamon bun. Holy cow is that good! Lately, I have been seeing HaleLife Bakery display and I realized it's close by. I went there for breakfast. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla, unsweetened ice tea and chocolate ganache cupcake. The breakfast quesadilla is more southwest like with corn, black beans and spicy mayo. I really enjoyed this quesadilla. Chocolate ganache cupcake was very chocolatey and very good. This place was an absolute dream for me - I have a gluten and dairy allergy and it is very difficult to find dessert avoiding both allergies. The staff was incredibly kind and upbeat. It is a cute little shop that was quaint and calm inside. It was also very clean. I was a kid in a candy store! I started off with the Toast-yay cookie - it was devine. My child has celiac and other food allergies so we are always on the lookout for new places that carry items that they can enjoy. We have a couple of bakeries up near Orlando that they go to on occasion that have some really good items. This one came up in my search for safe foods for them. they didn't really want to have a meal so the bakery made sense because we could pick something up to bring home with us. We talked to the employee at the counter to verify that everything they had was gluten and soy free. Their items are also free from most other allergens as well. they have a sign up that says to ask about items that are coconut free. They are located in a small shopping mall on the backside from where we approached and parking was crowded. We were able to find a space and then walked inside. They are a corner building and they have outdoor seating as well as some indoor seating. The menus are well displayed, and the pastries are in a case by the counter. They also have a cooler out front that has more of their savory items so that you can take them home. Each of the three of us chose a pastry item and my child's partner ordered them the soft pretzels with cheddar cheese, dipping sauce. Those items were also safe for them to eat. The pretzels smell fabulous and they did both enjoy them. My child's partner really enjoyed the item they got and while my child enjoyed the cupcake they ordered they did comment that it was a bit dry. This is an issue you can have when making gluten-free products. I ordered the Lava which is essentially a chocolate brownie with a chocolate cream on top. The young lady working in the counter told me this was very chocolatey. Prices for what they have on their menu are in line with what we usually find at bakeries like this. My brownie, which had a very good chocolate flavor but was not as overpowering as it's gluten powered competitors. My brownie also felt a little dry and it was somewhat crumbly. We do expect this, and I really enjoyed the taste of it. Hopefully when we are down in the Tampa area again, we will be able to stop and try something different. They also have a second location in Saint Pete. If you are in the market for gluten-free foods that are very allergen friendly than this place is totally worth trying. Saw this bakery advertised on Facebook. I happened to be in the area for an appointment and they were conveniently across the street. Staff was very friendly and informative. Everything is gluten and dairy free. It's heaven for my stomach. I ordered the three cheese grilled cheese. It was made with their gf flat bread and cut in half. The cheese is vegan it was delicious and made me almost cry because I haven't had grilled cheese in so long. I also ordered a chai and added maple spice and oat milk. I also enjoyed the butter beer cupcake which is seasonal. It is a bit more pricey but that's because America charges more for healthy foods vs fake chemical filled food. Definitely worth it. Hopefully they open a location near the USF area at some point since this location is nearly 30 minutes from me with traffic. They said they should be getting delivery services soon. This is our third visit here and I have to give them a well deserved review. The quality and service has been consistent every time, 10/10. My husband had the street tacos, which I had the last time we were here. They are packed full with flavour and filling. I tried the build your own bagel option today and was very pleased. The bagel has almost a biscuit-y texture, like a bagel/biscuit hybrid; I quite liked it. The sausage they use is thick and has a good spice to it. Not sure if homemade or store-bought but either way, it was very yummy and very reminiscent of a pork sausage. The drink and the donut, also incredible. I don't know how they managed to get the exact flavour of a chocolate covered strawberry in a latte but the did. Very happy with our choice. The cashier said the Nutella one is her favourite so we will have to try that next time. The Reese's donut is what you would expect from a Reese's donut with the peanut butter and chocolate, and the donut itself had a nice thick, cakey texture. First time trying Hale Life after having it saved on my "to go" list... and wow, great first experience! I tried an everything bagel with cream cheese, the fluffernutter cookie (which I believe was limited time) and a specialty iced drink- some type of coconut marshmallow latte. Used to get HaleLife all the time when I lived in Florida. I went to go to the their carrollwood location but it has since closed so I headed to the next closest one here in Tampa. I usually love their donuts so I was super excited to get my hands on some and share with family. Upon entering the location the case was just about empty (worker did say she had most of the items listed on the glass in the freezer if I wanted) unfortunately the family I brought wasn't even able to see what the options looked like bc none were in the case. She settled on the cosmic donut & cookie of the month Neapolitan . We were instructed to leave them on the counter for 15-20 min before Eating so no enjoying at the bakery as planned. Off we headed home after a few other stops. Upon tasting, the cosmic donut was very dry and crumbly not the fudge moist consistency as I remember. The monthly cookie didn't taste of the nostalgic ice cream flavor of its name- We could taste the cocoa in the base cookie cookie but the white frosting layer was very much a plain sugar frosting (no vanilla flavor) and the pink coating tasted just of a royal frosted sugar cookie shell. So so yummy! I was so excited to find gluten free and soy free baked goods in Tampa! If I'm ever back in the area I'll be sure to visit HaleLife Bakery - I ate the "Oreo" doughnut fresh first and it was moist, full of flavor, sweet light in the stomach and didn't feel like I'd eaten a led sinker, non-greasy, and probably the best gluten and soy free chocolate doughnut I've ever eaten. We stopped in to pick up some gluten-free items. I found the staff to be very nice and friendly. The store is very cute and everything is easy to find. We purchased donuts, cinnamon bread, a baguette, and pizza flatbread. The donuts were overly sweet for our taste, unfortunately, but we loved the flatbread and the cinnamon bread. The flatbreads look very plain, and we were skeptical that they would cook well given the density, but they actually cooked up in the o en fantastically! They tasted great once we had our toppings, and it was quite hearty. I think their breads are outstanding and I would highly recommend them. First, the HaleLife staff was very friendly and welcoming. There website and mission is great. We were excited to try their goods after seeing the awards and reviews. However, the experience was extremely disappointing. We placed an order online, but when we picked it up all the items were frozen. There was no indication that the baked goods sold here are actually frozen. Isn't it the first cardinal rule of donut maintenance that you are forbidden to freeze after baking, at the risk of deactivating the flavor, texture, and purpose. I asked the clerk if any of the items in the case had been baked today, and she said "No, we actually deep-freeze everything." It was perplexing. Had we missed something? Bakery : a place for baking or selling baked goods It felt more like a fakery. We consoled our coffee that was eager to be paired with a fresh donut. After letting them thaw, we gave the frozen goods a chance. They tasted how they looked: heavy, wet, and extremely sweet. These qualities would make sense for gluten-free maybe 10 years ago, but not today. Nobody wants a cold, wet, squishy donut. It's easily possible to make most conventional baked goods gluten and dairy free that also match the taste and texture. Gluten-free is not gross or inferior anymore. In addition to the donut, tried the cinnamon roll, lots of icing and sweet. Maybe too sweet. The prices are higher than regular bakeries. May I suggest: My best word of advice for this place is if you they have an item and you REALLY REALLY love it, get it and get it often because their may come a day when its not there anymore (RIP tiramisu donut, iced coffee brownie, and the gone too soon caramel espresso brownie donut) The good news is they have monthly specials as well as FOMO.
