I'm giving this place three stars because the employees from Estee Ann have moved here and they are five star employees. I will not be retuning there again. I called the day before my visit to get the price of mani & pedi. After the pedi the owner quoted a much higher price, my manicurist kept eyeing her but didn't correct her. Came here with my mom to have a fill and gel manicure. There is a large parking lot in the back. We came in as walk-ins and they took us immediately. Everyone here is so friendly. Rose did an amazing job giving me a gel French tip on my ridiculously short nails. How she did such a good job freehand Is beyond me. The manager, Lisa, is awesome. She gave me a complimentary hot stone massage while I was waiting for my mom. Lisa, thank you for such an incredible massage. Christine did my mom's nails. She also did an incredible job. This salon is the worst I've ever experienced. Upon entering I asked for prices for pedicure and full set with gel. She only gave me the price for pedicure. When i sat down and started my nails she told me $70 just for my nails. Def overpriced for the type of salon it was. Tell me why the Korean manicurist was performing gel-manicure using the color "FUNNY BUNNY" on my nails to match my pedicure by Melia who is the BEST! I asked for a 3rd color to get the TRUE color of the polish; I love it, I had it 2 weeks ago! I can't make this up....when I asked for a 3rd coat; The Korean manicurist says to me "You're Skin Color is the Problem not the Polish"! The worst experience ever. Im not going back. This place is NOT cash only and the owner forces customers to pay in cash. I told the lady that I have no cash and I will be paying with the card. I'm not sure what previous reviews are referring to when it comes to pricing...the prices are printed on the wall and then at the end of your service, they write everything down on a receipt. I am the pickiest person when it comes to choosing a nail salon so it means lot that I consider Tina's to be my go-to favorite place to get my nails done. First, the space is clean. It's not all too glamorous but it's comfortable, spacious, and you won't have to worry about any bacteria lying around. Lisa and the girls do a great job at keeping the salon neat and tidy. I appreciate warm and welcoming customer service and at Tina's, you can always expect that. Lisa remembers you by name and face just after a single visit and is so accommodating to your needs. She even gives great suggestions for nail colors and designs. The quality of my manicures has always been exceptional. I get gel- every time and they always last me at minimum 2 weeks. Lisa (and my other favorite Jackie) take great care into making sure the gel is applied correctly so that you don't have to worry about it chipping after a week (like most salons). Pricing is average. You won't really find a cheaper place in the area for the quality. I've been to way too many salons in the city and I've paid the same price but the customer service was always below satisfactory and I hate the feeling of being rushed. Last but not least - If this means anything to anyone, I've always been a terrible nail biter but I've stopped after coming to Tina's! They do such an amazing job of making my nails look nice that I've somehow naturally stopped compulsively biting them. Go to Tina's. They happily take walk-ins. I came here three times: The first time I walked in and asked for a manicure and pedicure since my ingrown toe nails and arches were hurting me and the hard skin on my heel had started to crack and was in pain. I am sorry I didn't ask her name but the lady who did my nails did a good job getting rid of the pain in my ingrown toe nails and the thick cracked dry skin on my heels. The second time I walked in and asked for a manicure and pedicure and waxing since I was tired and felt desperately in need of pampering. Xena did my nails and immediately got rid of the pain in my ingrown toe nails and in my callused and cracked heels. Rose did my waxing and I even felt like I had lost weight after the hair was removed from my thighs and bikini area. The third time, I called ahead of time to ask for a back massage as my back had been hurting the previous night and I was unable to sleep through the night. I called ahead of time to make sure Lisa could give me an appointment with a masseuse to ease my back pain. She did not disappoint! I had a wonderful massage by Sophia who literally had "magic hands". My once aching and stiff back felt relaxed and loose. Since I was there anyway, I had a manicure by Christine. It is good that you don't necessarily need to make an appointment before coming here but can walk in and they take you right away. It is even better if you can call ahead of time to alert Lisa that you are coming and why you are coming to her salon. They provide good service and are all very friendly. However, during my second visit here, I would have preferred to have one person provide all the services I needed. However, one lady did the pedicure and another lady did the manicure. One lady started the waxing and another lady finished the waxing. The only thing is I have noticed with most of the salons in Fort Lee, most establishments are very pushy and demanding about the tips that customers give after each service. The owner is especially sweet and welcoming - none of those awkward or stoic looks walking into this nail salon! My manicures and pedicures here last longer than average. Waxing here is a hit or miss (wax can be too hot, but it gets the job done). Overall, they have earned my loyalty. PROS: Friendly; prompt service; attentive service. AWFUL Worst experience at a nail salon. I called before hand to make a 7pm appointment since they closed at 8 and also to ask the price of a gel manicure and regular pedicure. On the phone the owner Lisa told me it was $50 and then quickly whispered into the phone that she would make it $45 if I paid in cash. I arrived at 7 telling them I had an appointment and no one even asked for my name, so clearly they don't care about that. I waited for about 30 minutes before someone took me for my gel manicure. Not only was my manicure rushed but when she finished it was 8pm (when they close) and I still had not got my pedicure. The owner came up to me to ask if I could come the next day but I couldn't since I was going away. The owner insured me someone would do my pedicure. After 30 minutes of having my feet in the water the owner (and the only lady left who was finishing someone else's manicure) told me there is another lady coming to do my pedicure ?? (But there was no one else there) About 15 minutes later her husband (or a friend) dressed in nice business clothes comes and she begins doing my pedicure and finishes in 7 minutes. Worst pedicure of my life. The guy then gives me a calf massage to try and make up for it which was super uncomfortable. After that horrible experience I didn't tip and the husband (assuming) comes running after me to tell me I didn't tip. This is my first time back in 15 years. I am pleasantly surprised by the friendly human beings that run this salon. The place is a bit dated but the salon is clean. That's important. Came for a pedicure and it's just such a treat to relax and enjoy a pedi instead of feeling rushed or annoyed because the salon owner maybe rude or cold. The massage chairs are old but they are still very comfortable. They really pay attention to details and really clean your dead skin. And there is a scrub after all of the scrubbing in the feet. But one of the lady forced me to get the gel extension. I was hesitant but why not. So I'm getting my gel extensions done and it was the worst gel extension ever. I just moved to the area but I've never had to pay $15 to get my eyebrows and lip done. But I gladly paid it because I just assumed that's the price for the area and didn't question it but when I gave the money to the lady she then demanded more tip. I gave her a $1 because that was all I had and she kept arguing with me saying to get more cash for tip. I am all for tipping well. I have been looking for a nail salon for months now! I came across this place on a Tuesday morning walk and decided to stop in. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The place was very clean as well. I was immediately seated in the pedicure chairs which gave a great massage! The nail tech took their time while doing my pedicure. I never felt rushed or pressured to purchase anything more than what I asked for. I ended up with a great pedicure. My manicure was just as nice. Other places try to sell you all types of additional services and treatments which is very uncomfortable! My last nail salon burned my nails while putting on gel and it caused my nails to stop growing!! This place was very accommodating to my concerns and listened to my request. I even left with a new color changing polish that came out great! The prices were average to what I usually pay in/around NYC. Credit cards were accepted with no hesitation. One time I left the appointment and ruined my manicure on 4 of my fingers. I returned as Tina's Nails was closing and my manicurist happily redid those fingers even though I felt so guilty and so bad to hold them up.
