Terrible, terrible, terrible!! As a regular manicure client that has gotten many manicures this by far is the worst manicure I have ever received!! Avoid his place at all costs. #1 I am a licensed cosmetologist in the state of N.J. and have provided this service many times as a professional. I am not rating as a professional but as a client. Although I am a professional there are some aspects of the service that needs to be mentioned as their sanitation, disinfecting and sterilization procedures are not followed. Barbicide is not anywhere to be seen in the salon to disinfect tools. They have a sterilizer but it was not ON the tools were pulled out of there as of the machine were a simple shelf. The woman whom provided the service quickly filed, buffed and added cuticle oil to my cuticles, the next step would be to soak hands in warm soapy water to soften the cuticle to then continue on by pushing the cuticle and cutting if necessary. She was planning on giving me a dry manicure without water.. I asked for water and her response was, "oh you want water?" My response to her was, "well, yes, bc I am not painting my nails I just want my nails to be cleaned up correctly." She then proceeded to bring me water, without soap and it was COLD!! With that being said she didn't even wait long enough for the COLD WATER to soften my cuticle. She cut my cuticles, doing a poor job. At that moment I brought my 10 yr old daughter over and whispered in her ear that we would go elsewhere to get her a manicure bc this place doesn't do a good job. She understood. Oh and the hand massage was awful!! $10 for a terrible 10 minute manicure! Does that thumb look cleaned up to you? Nope! read more

An amazing nail experience! I got a pedicure and a gel manicure with French tips and crystals. First- the salon is super cute and the pedicure chairs gave a great massage. The pedicure was thorough, I just got one at a different salon last week and I couldn't believe how much dead skin they were able to get off my feet. The color was even and perfect. I'm excited because I've finally found my favorite local nail salon! My husband and I have been coming here for a few months (shh...don't tell but he loves pedicures) and the ladies always do a great job. I usually opt for the color gel - they have OPI and Gelish in a bunch of colors - and finish up with a pedicure. True story: Jen did my nails for my destination wedding and not only did the look awesome, but the gel held up for 2 weeks of sun, sand, surf & daily swimming and then looked great for another 2 weeks after we returned. Color gel + pedicure will run you about $50. They also offer Incoco nail designs - those nail polish tabs in an array of fun designs. This place is clean, and the ladies are really nice. They do tend to get busy on evenings, but I've never waited more than 15 minutes on weekends. read more

This is the first time I have ever given one star to any establishment and I actually didn't even get my nails done here so I can't speak for their actual skills but I waited an hour and they had a child calling "next". I had no idea that this worked like a deli. Customers have to monitor where they are in line in order to know if they are next or not. I've been going to nail salons for about 22 years and I have never heard of that before in all those years. Usually the owner or other employee will keep track of who is next. When I finally realized that people were going ahead of me I asked why was I being skipped and the response was "Well I kept saying next and you didn't say anything soooo..." When I tried to explain that this may not be the best way to serve customers she just kept saying the same thing over and over again. Rather than get furious, I just said forget it. I'm not oblivious to the fact that these neighborhood nail salons don't have the best customer service but I have to draw the line somewhere. That's just rude. If I am willing to pay $55 for a gel manicure and a gel pedicure, I think I deserve to be taken care of in a timely manner and with a modicum of respect. Also they do not seem sanitary. This was my 4th time coming here and sadly the last. The first two times, service was good. Very friendly, but after wow.. What a disappointment.. The 3rd time I came back and my nails weren't as good as the first two times.. Sloppy is the word. The polish wasn't as sharp as before, felt almost as they didn't really care about the job they did on my nails. But I let it go thinking maybe it was just me being OCD about it.. Also this time i got a pedicure which was good but I wish they really put more time into cleaning and cutting my cuticles. My 4th and LAST time my nails looked horrible. I got a powder acrylic done.. Which is why I kept going back to this particular salon (They had told me it was much healthier for my nails) than getting regular acrylic.. But the lady made them extremely thick, wide, the powder wasn't even close to my cuticle so it looked horrible on my nail it almost looked as if i had gone to cvs and glued them on myself. The color was another problem.. I had brought my own and of course the lady which her name tag reads Chris .. Did a sloppy job.. And not to mention they over charged me $5.. I honestly was so fed up I didn't even bother arguing with them being that I didn't want to be there any longer and I knew it wasn't worth wasting my time. The salon is clean, recently renovated. They have a wide selection of gel nail polishes, not so many regular though. Parking is hard because its only meter parking. I've been to this place a few times now and have really enjoyed my nails and the service until now. I made an appointment today for 4:30 in which the owner confirmed. At 4:25 I called letting them know I'd be late by 15m which they said was fine. I arrive a few minutes before the time I told them for them only to tell me that I needed to wait 30m. The owners said something in their native language and proceeded to take a walk in over me. So rude, it's facilities like these that cause PTSD for us. The manager was chasing her asking for me, she asked if she had asked for tip. She had to told her I had already given her her tip. This is my go to nail place since I moved into the area. I will admit you have to know who to go to as there are some technicians who are better than others (the first two ladies as you walk in are the best). Since I have been going there for a while they never rush me and we chat about things. Always getting my acrylics and regular pedicures done there. Waxing is also good I get my legs waxed every now and then but I prefer to get my Brazilian done elsewhere because of the type of wax they use. Staff is very rude! They act as if they are doing you a favor even though your a paying customer. It was the day before Easter and the were busy however They were so rude that several women left and I wish I had done so also. I had my acrylics removed and the lady nearly ripped off my nails she had no idea what she was doing and even left a hunk of acrylic on my nail!!!!! The only ones that know what they are doing fare the first two when you walk in beware of the third lady. The two pedicure ladies to the right are amazing the rest of the staff is mediocre. I walked in yest for a reg mani and pedi with a friend, we sat down in the chairs they began to soak our feet, ( she over flowed my tub and my water started to drip out) but anyways we ask how much and they say 30$ , ok we have no problem paying that, out of curiosity we asked if they price match since every other place on Bergen line charges $20 and all of a sudden she takes my feet out the tub, she lifts up my arm rest and says good bye ( this was the manager) how RUDE! I've been coming to this salon since 2013 and although, I admit, they are sometimes not exactly "on point" with my nails as I want them to be, the majority of the time I end up loving my nails! I'm sure they can't always do them the same exact way every single time! But I always stick to gel tips and pedicures all the time! The gel pedicure usually lasts me almost 2 mths and I get my filling usually every 3 weeks for my tips! I can't remember if I've ever experience chipping. And the only times I've had nails fall off would be if I allow them to grow 3weeks to a mth after I do them. I usually go to "Chris" and she has never let me down. She takes her time with me and I'm always happy to have her do them! I've also had my nails by the other ladies and they are also great at it!I love the staff because they are always friendly and professional! I have kids so whenever I have to bring the baby or my 6 year old , I don't really worry because of the powder they use instead of acrylic! It's not harmful like acrylic is on the lungs and you don't smell any chemicals when you walk into the salon. That was one of the main reasons why I've stayed going here! A lot of women have different opinions and different expectations when they go to get their nails done! But I am a pretty "picky" person myself as to how I want them to look. But overall, it has been a great experience with them. I also get my legs waxed and eyebrows and they are very good at listening to when I say I don't want my eyebrows thin! Other places I have gone messed my eyebrows up after a while. I am pleased with this salon and will continue coming here! They're worth the 30min commute! read more

Don't do it! I am a big promoter of a good business and my visit to Fashion Nails was a mistake. I am new to this area and had gone to Ocean Nails- which I liked, except for the ventilation is poor. Fashion Nail's salon is not very up to date, I went for a pedicure/ gel manicure. There is no massage whatsoever, and I had to ask her to fill the water to cover my feet twice. After the woman polished my nails, she handed me the polish to put back and I had to ask for a clear top coat. Gel manicure, a few of my nails are jagged on the ends and I need to file them (in fact I may go back) I also realized last night that my heels are rough, so what's the point in going to this place. No massage at all- just long enough for them to put a moisturizer on your feet and legs, they charge as much as the other salons and are not thorough. i will have to go back and have them scrub my heels properly. Having gone to OCEAN nails, I'd suggest them (except for the smell) it's probably not healthy, but they give you a nice massage (even use stones), place the paraffin on your heels. If you get a gel set, your pedicure is free. Tiffany is great for gel. I am going to add pics, not sure how to do it, it may not be with the review. read more

I recently got acrylic tips on my nails and the lady did such a great job. Their customer service is great as soon as I came inside I was greeted. They are friendly to all their customers and they take their time. I cannot stand when I go to a nail salon and I am getting a pedicure and a manicure at the same time. I like to do relax while my feet are getting done and then pursue to get my nails done at a station. I was there for an hour but it was worth it and the place is cozy inside. I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new place to get my brows done. I had been going to the same Indian salon in Union City for years to get my brows threaded but wanted a new spot closer to where I live. I checked yelp for reviews and decided to go to Fashion Nails. I love this place! The ladies who work here are so sweet. As soon as you walk into their salon, they all take a moment from what they are doing, look up, and say hello! The eyebrow wax is $7 and they do meticulous work. They are very thorough, making sure your brows are shaped to perfection. After the wax, they tweeze and trim my brows beautifully. I cannot recommend this salon enough if you are looking to get gorgeous face-framing brows. I am so pleased with the eyebrow wax, that I decided to get a simple mani-pedi here too. This place is terrible. I paid $35 for "powder" tips which are the same exact thing as acrylic, but they dip your finger in instead of dipping the brush. They charge an extra $5 just for shape which is ridiculous. And before the two weeks for a fill even came all the nails popped off except for 3. I'm not someone who does strenuous activity so that's pathetic. They over charge compared to other salons for a shittier job. Don't go there, you'll pay extra for bullshit. read more
