I came here with my wife. I'm not an expert by any means. Sort of a nail virgin (5th time). Had a manipedi done with foot massage and shoulder massage. It was fantastic! Shop is clean. Staff is courteous and professional. I was very impressed with their attention to their work. We came mid day during the week so they were not busy. Highly recommend.

I have been here numerous times - it's like that - oh man! I need my nails done NOW! - scenario. Nothing fuzzy about this place. You walk in, and get it done. You don't come to have a spa feeling. It's very utilitarian, in the most basic way. From multiple nicks, to bubbles in the gel polish, and other polish imperfections... I'm so disappointed in the gel mani I received. When I pointed out the imperfections, the technician stared at me blankly. To my horror (something I didn't see before), after she was done with me, she went to wash the mani tools: just using water!! No blue/green liquid that takes cooties away!!! WHAAAT??? I paid, left, and will not be back. Ladies, every technician can have a bad mani session, however, I do not recommend this place based on the hygiene. Stay away. There are other places around.

Have you ever had your nails done by Japanese ladies? Cause I have and it was MAGICAL. I usually hate going to the nail salon but this experience was different. JULIE is a master of nails. She did everything so neatly, paid attention to every little detail, no matter how small and she kept everything clean and dust free. I am completely impressed by her. She was considerate of me having sensitive skin and I can honestly say that for the first time, I was relaxed at a nail salon. She a lot more than she needed to do, and in the end it was cheaper than anything I pay in Houston. Best nail job I have ever had and the most I have ever tipped for a refill!

I got acrylics with shellac here. It has been a little over a week & my acrylic nails are pealing up to the point where I had to buy nail glue to glue the nails back on. My shellac has chipped in a nail & there seem to be bubbles in the paint job. The ladies are nice & it is a clean salon. But I paid $90 for nails to not even last a week. I had heard great things from friends, but even my friend who came with me is experiencing her nails pealing up. I'm very disappointed because the design is cute but can't even last 10 days.

Polish looks more yellow here than in person but super cute

This review is long overdue. I've been coming here for almost two years now, and I always leave with flawless manis. Their gel manicures are $30, and worth every penny because they last forever (3+ weeks) I've also gotten pedis here and they were good - the massage chairs are bomb. I find that it's either packed or nearly empty, but call ahead to make a reservation! Now for some tips, - bring cash for a discount. It's nominal (5% I believe) but saving money is always a plus - the staff here are friendly but don't speak perfect English. If you're looking for a nail technician to have conversations with, this prob isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a nail salon to get fleeky nails, look no further. - they close on Sundays - if you have brittle/flimsy nails and are getting a gel mani, ASK FOR A SECOND TOP COAT. My nails are the worst, but the second coat makes them super strong. They don't look thick (a huge pet peeve of mine), and my manis ALWAYS last at least 3 weeks. Cheers!

Decent nail salon! It doesn't feel like a "high end" salon, it feels like a classic neighborhood nail place. Calming piano music in the background. Anita was nice and did a quick and efficient gel manicure. She checked in if I liked the shape, color, and finish before proceeding and I really appreciate that. Thanks! Gel manicure was $31.50 (including tax, not including tip).

Great job on my French gel set!

As a native New Yorker, I have a few trusted nail salons that I go to in various neighborhoods, depending on what's convenient for me on a certain day. Yesterday I was in desperate need for a manicure in midtown. So I researched Coco Ruby Salon and was impressed with the reviews, so I decided to give them a try. I have to say, my manicurist was amazing! I had to remove my gel manicure, and soak off my tips (which is a tedious process). This lovely woman was extremely gentle and patient. She then proceeded to give me a beautiful new French tip manicure with a UV gel topcoat, all for the low price of $45!!!! I was expecting to pay soo much more for all of her great work. So that was a nice surprise. She was very sweet and gracious. This is my new midtown nail salon.

You know what I dislike in most nail salons? Behind the fake smile they discuss you in their language. If you take longer choosing a nail polish they talk, if you have an additional request, they talk. And not in a nice tone. I find it very rude and uncomfortable. Not in this salon. The owner was genuinely nice and the manicure ladies were very pleasant. Maria did a good job with my nails. I love that they have massage chairs and while she was doing my pedicure I reclined and got a nice back massage. Oh, btw, mani+pedi - $30.50

So I decided to try out Coco Ruby after finding out that my preferred nail salon closed for good. I saw that Coco had good reviews on yelp, and had good pricing on gel manicures that I desperately needed. It might only be me, but I feel like 8th avenue around 34th street is the shadiest place in the city. So I wasn't sure what to think of having to go to a second floor for a nail salon. I like to be able to see the business I'm walking into. So I go on Thursday about 6, and business is booming. The pedicure chairs are almost full, the manicure desks are also almost all in use. I was greeted and asked to choose a color and was told to be seated while I waited. Waiting was about 15 mins. I got the older lady who was so funny. She dashes around the nail salon. So she would dash from her station, to the reception area. Her manicure was great. She asked me what shape I wanted, and normally I get a square shape. But she suggested I get a round shape since some nails had broken and it would be even this way. She did about 3 coats of polish, which did change the color of the polish that I had chosen but it wasn't a big deal for me. The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the following: the price of a gel manicure is $30 so I gave her $40 in cash. She came back with $5 as my change. I loved her work, loved the shape, loved the polish job. I would've given her the full $10 as tip had she given me back my full change. Because she decided on her own tip, I left her with only the $5 she took from me. SIDENOTE: I dont think this is the most hygienic place. They have a random liquid in a bottle that says, Antiseptic that they spray on your hands. For all I know, that could be just water when it doesn't have any manufacturer labels. Also, there is no cleaning of the tools or even that toaster oven looking thing that sanitizes the tools.

You wouldn't think I just got a pedicure would you? Unacceptable.

I stopped in today for a mani/pedi and some waxing before catching the LIRR home because I knew everything in my area would be closed by the time I got there. I waited for a good 2 minutes before someone asked what service I wanted. I waited a few more minutes before being shown to a pedicure chair. The girl worked quickly and didn't really ask me any questions. Before I knew it was putting base coat on my toenails. She didn't use a pumice stone or lotion on my incredibly dry feet... So what was the point of this pedicure? I wish I had noticed sooner because I would have spoke up. She was more attentive with my manicure, but didn't polish up to my cuticle. There is a small gap at the base of each nail. Overall, they do look good. She took me to the back for waxing. I requested she wax my eyebrows, lip and chin. She didn't seem to know what waxing your chin and lip entailed and asked me to point to what parts she wanted me to remove the hair from. I was a bit baffled to say the least. I wouldn't come back not recommend this place.

    Gel manicure

I came to this nail salon and I was completely shocked with the amount of attention I received. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked what I wanted and immediately after picked a color. I was taken right away for my pedicure which was amazing, the lady who attended me took her time and I even go a massage with a hot stone, which I've never got before! (For free btw). I also got a gel manicure and loved the way they did my gel and the shape as well. Would definitely recommend! They were also very clean and it was not packed. The pricing was also very reasonable for NYC.

I highly recommend Miss Bliss for superior quality and service!…read more I was in NY for work and desperately needed to get my nails done before a trade show. I found Miss Bliss on Yelp as a business open Sunday evening and walked in around 5 (they close at 7). All the seats were full and 2 girls already waiting, so they advised the wait would be an hour bc of this existing appointments. No problem for me since I thought this was still plenty of time to get in before closing. They were able to seat me around 5:45. I requested Gel-x (my first time but also my nails were pretty short and damaged from my picking off the last gel as it grew out). Jenny began meticulously working on cleaning my cuticles and sizing me up for the tips. I don't know what they look for, but she definitely worked through the different size options, and even re-applied one of the tips bc she noticed something was off. Honestly, I don't think I have have noticed but I do appreciate her attention to detail, she obviously cares about her craft. So 7 pm rolls around, the 3 other customers that were still there and had wrapped up their nail sessions. Julie, the other nail tech offers to finish up my polish design to let Jenny go home to her kids. I'm definitely feeling bad for keeping them past closing, and I am secretly hoping they rush through the polish so they can leave. NOPE! Julie takes her time on my design, and finishes up with a nice neck and hand massage, warm towel, and we all finally close up at 830. I am super grateful they continued to dedicate time to my service, while not sacrificing quality. Left a fat tip since I know Jenny and Julie will be splitting. Looking forward to coming back here on a future NY trip! Next time I will make an appointment though

my rating is between 3.5 and 4…read more i called ahead to see if they had any availability, and since they had pretty good ratings on google and yelp, i decided to go for it. my nails were getting way too long anyways. it was a very typical nail salon, the exact kind you would imagine when you think of one. she didn't ask what length i wanted and just went straight for the cut. by the time it came to filing, my nails ended up super short, and i am definitely a longer nail kind of girl. i'm not sure if she simply forgot to ask, but i'd like to think she was looking out for me and knew my nails would chip if they were kept too long. i went for a regular gel manicure since i told myself my nails need a break after this. when she was done, she gave me a shoulder massage, but it was very brief (shorter than the typical massages you get at nail appointments) and only on one shoulder, which felt a little odd. upon leaving, i immediately noticed a flaw on my left thumb. there were visibly tiny bumps, and once i noticed them, they kept bothering me. my conclusion: always go to the nail salon you trust, and that is exactly what i should've done.

The interior design of the space is what pulled my attention when walking up 9th Ave. It is chic yet accessible and never approaches being or feeling gaudy. Very clean look (and space). Great color palate used. Very comfortable chairs. Good use of white space accentuated with green angular paint and golden decals and other ornamentations, all done minimally and with purposeful placement. Carmen (my nail tech) made good efforts and took obvious care to give me a nice buff manicure, all for only $27 (+ a small amount of tax). No nips or cuts. No pain. Textbook technique. Picked up well on when I wanted to zen out to the aura of the space and the well-curated spa playlist vs when I was open to a little nail tech kiki. Loved the sugar scrub they use for the hand massage. I take ownership for not getting the pre-cuticle work nail soak as part of the provided service. IMO, if a nail salon doesn't automatically incorporate the soak into your mani, you as the customer should speak up when the softening gel is pulled out and before it is applied. If they don't offer it? That's another thing. But I didn't test those waters and cannot speak to Nail Me Right (goodness gravy I love the business name!). So, keep in mind if the soak is your thing. They were very accommodating from the moment I arrived until I left. So I have a hunch this request wouldn't be a problem. Same with the end result. You as the customer are responsible for checking your nails / hands / feet / whatever before ending the appointment. I was late for my next appointment and did not, later seeing I would've like a little extra work done where the far end of nail edges meets the finger and a shinier buff applied. Again, I am quite sure Carmen would have accommodated had I done my part and spoken up before leaving. Still, I woke up the next morning to those slight extra bits naturally working themselves out (which points to the moisturizing measures NMR applies being of good quality), and my hand looking nice. I plan to pop in next time I'm in the area and in the market for some nail / hand / foot love, and hope you'll consider doing the same to support this family and what they're working to bring to the neighborhood.
