The quality of the yogurt was just ok. Icy. The original tart which was my favorite didn't taste as good as other places close by. Other flavors I tried was not so excited as well. I didn't find the topping area was attractive. Some fruit there were not fresh, and the selection seems limited at the day I went to visit. They don't give receipt, until I asked, the lady worked there wrote down the amount I purchased on a card. They also charge you $ for the cup, and I noticed I paid more on the same amount of yogurt I got from another store across street. Maybe I was wrong.... Wow this place needs to change how they serve their customers. First issue is sample cups. I am an adult I think I can manage getting my own samples. Then, to have an attitude about me trying more than one was ridiculous. The guy giving my husband and I samples said haven't you ever tried this flavor before. How rude!! It was my first time here so no sir I have not. When this guy wasn't serving us he was sitting behind the counter on his phone as there were only two couples( us and another couple in the store). So, not sure why coming from behind the counter to grab samples was such a challenge for him. Next, was the toppings. My husband was so excited to see they had cereal toppings ( his favorite). He tasted one off the top of his yogurt and noticed it was super stale. When we checked out my husband politely mentioned they might want to change cereal out because it was a bit stale and the guy ringing us up completely ignored him. This was one of the worst frozen yogurt places I've encountered. I will not be back. read more

I think they try to cut corners by reducing the yogurt temperture, so by the time it hits the cup, it's already starting to melt.....I guess they're trying to save on the electric bill at the customers expense. Ok, Coco Swirl has made me come out of Yelp-hiding just long enough to sing their praises. I was an avid frozen yogurt fan back when it was still cool to call it frozen yogurt, instead of "fro yo". I would eat it for lunch and dinner sometimes, that is how sick I was. It seemed to disappear for a while and was replaced with juice places, which I was not as much a fan of because they seemed like high priced sugar emporiums and always left me still hungry and craving more sugar. Not to say that yogurt doesn't have sugar, but OMG (and I don't use that abbreviation lightly) this yogurt is amazing! So flavorful. So many different flavors. Not all pumped with air like some yogurt places. Not all chemical-tasting. Very natural tasting. Low calories (1/2 cup = 100 calories). All the good stuff written below---serve yourself, fun environment, variety of flavors, nice staff, etc. The only bad thing is the price, which is very high and I am constantly amazed when they are all, "Ok, that will be $7 please." What the mashnutskey? But I guess as addictions go, it is a pretty healthy one and not as pricey as, say, heroine or cocaine or ever marijuana (which they keep claiming isn't addictive but it does drain dopamine levels, whereas yogurt I don't think does) for that matter. Plus, lately they have a sign up saying that if you give blood at the Red Cross, you can get a free yogurt. So here I go, with my little bled, pale, and anemic self, back into hiding. read more

This place is pretty good for froyo lovers. The first thing you notice is how clean and nice the place looks. It's probably the nicest looking yogurt place I've seen. Coco Swirl is heaven!I've been a regular customer since they opened last summer and they just keep getting better and better with so much new flavors just like pumpkin last halloween/thanksgiving and eggnog last christmas. Their Green Tea is a MUST TRY! They have the friendliest crew who always try to help you in one way or the other like giving you samples and giving their opinions on the flavors. They have their nights (especially on the weekends) where they are extremely busy that the toppings are nearly empty and you have to wait in line for a couple of minutes but you can tell that the employees are doing their best to ring up their customers fast without being rude and still giving you the best customer service and I always see them with their silver measuring cups filling up the toppings. Anyways, they charge you an extra 0.40 cents if your total is under $10 and you're using your card, but other than that everything is perfect! The owner is always there welcoming the customers and having a little chat with them. They rotate their flavors and you can even ask them what days they will be serving your favorite flavor and I heard you can request it too - I have yet to try that one. This place WILL NEVER disappoint me at all! P.S I love going here on the weekends especially at night because the kids are extra friendly and always welcomes you with their famous "HI! WELCOME TO COCO SWIRL!" and that's always worth the extra tip. read more

Note that they update the flavors, so they may not have your favorite each time. After having a nice dinner out with family we decided to treat the kids to a frozen yogurt. We walked into Coco Swirl in Pleasant Hill and for one we were not greeted by the lady at the counter. Then as we were looking at the flavors that they were offering there were at least 5 earwig bugs crawling around the frozen yogurt machines. How disgusting. Definitely tasty yogurt. I am not at all impressed with a serve-yourself place putting out a tip jar. I just think that is rude. All the employees do is weigh the yogurt, take payment, keep the place clean and stock the goodies. I feel that these are all basic services expected when running this kind of business. If you didn't do these things you wouldn't have a business. There is no extra special service and if there was, someone could give a tip when appropriate. Even more ridiculous is seeing the tip cup when the owner or manager is the one working. Seriously? I just think it is so TACKY asking for tips. i HAD TO have a nice big cup of fro-yo yesterday, and i was in pleasant hill, so my friend and i stopped at coco swirl. it was delicious -- my favorite, self-serve style, with a wealth of delightful flavors. my favorites were key lime and raspberry-pomegranate. (i also tried the banana and the regular tart flavor). they also have a bunch of good toppings -- capn crunch, mochi bits, lychee fruit... suffice it to say, i did not walk out disappointed. Good rotation of tasty flavors. Apple, Pinapple, Chocolate being among my favorites. Friendly service and hardly any wait, even when it's super busy. My only gripe is that often times there aren't any chairs left to sit and chat with friends and sometimes mochi (my fave) is straight up gone. I've been here many times. At first i must say i didn't really like the place but only because i didn't like the flavors and didn't know which one was good. I thought to myself how do you know which flavor is the best if you didn't know which one tasted good. I attempted to ask if i could sample and hestitant to fill my cup with whatever flavor but it was really busy so i just stayed safe and went with tart..so i added my usual favorite toppings granola and fruity pebbles. I ate it and didn't like how sweet it was..The next time i came in i had cheesecake which was just okay..i had pistacho and loved it..pomengrante is good..So it took some time for me to like the place. Once they started getting different flavors i became a fan but the only downside is they may not have the flavors you want if you go there. I love how you can put the toppings yourself compared to other frozen yogurt places..i don't feel like such a pig when i say can i have a little more granola? read more

This is the best frozen yogurt in town! One important aspect of yogurt is the texture. The texture here is just right, not too frozen, not too creamy. Perfect! It's also not too sweet and the flavors actually taste like what they're supposed to be. I love Mango and anything else that's tart! read more

I went here tonight for the first time. My wife has been with the kids and they all really love it. I must say that I was impressed. The flavors were varied and the frozen yogurt was very cold, which I really like. They give you samples in little cups and I even liked the Taro flavor. My kids age 8 and 4 really love the stuff and its relatively healthy which is a huge bonus. Minus - 40 cent surcharge for credit card transactions under $10. I am also going to try Yogurtland, which I have heard is quite good and compare the two before settling on a favorite. read more

The yogurt craze has finally started to hit nor cal and I can not complain. While I still hold pinkberry as my favorite yogurt spot, coco swirl has become my place of choice when I want my fix of yogurt in nor cal. They have a great variety of yogurt flavors every day but I still prefer to keep it simple with the tart plain flavor with lots of fruits. My only real complaint about Coco swirl is their lack of topping choices. I would have liked to see maybe some kiwi or blueberries (hint hint). read more

I'm kind of surprised that this place would even get negative comments because we've tried so many yogurt places (from LA to SF), and this place is REALLY GOOD! I guess it just goes to show you can't win them all and maybe some folks just have to be negative for no reason at all. People love Pinkberry - but what they serve isn't really even real yogurt (don't you guys read the news?) - it's this powdery stuff they mix with water. Anyway, we love this place. really good self serve frozen yogurt. It gives you a lot of freedom to choose what you want and how much you want, so you are totally in control. Lots of fresh fruit toppings and such, and a very nice ambiance. They have tons of flavors to choose from but my favorite is the original tart and mango, super refreshing and it totally fixes your yogurt cravings, which I get so much I even dream about eating yogurt. The owners here are cheap. If you ask for one of the little sample cups...the lady will come out and make sure you're just getting a little sample. I'm a paying customer and it just made me feel like a little kid...like I was gonna steal more than just a sample. Then their card reader wasn't working so she rudely kept my card and had to phone into some credit card company and i had to give my zip code and all that nonsense. Place is poorly run. read more

We went in for the fisrt time and I found the experience a bit odd, and the decor odd, too. The yogurt was good, but when we got to the line, the gal running the register kept yelling "I'll help the next customer" really loudly, even if you're right there ready to be helped and can see that she hasn't finished with the previous customer. I have been trying to find something similar to Pinkberry for quite sometime. I don't think this place is like Pinkberry at all, but it is just as good, and I think better! It's self serve, and you can put as much or little into your cup as you'd like! I got the Strawberry fro-yo with fresh strawberries on top. It was sooo good! I will definitely be coming back! If what you want is a huge ice cream sundae, but that would make you feel too guilty....go to Coco Swirl and feast! Since it is self serve you can decide exacty how much you want. If it is your lunch or dinner you can fill the huge cup to the brim (and expect to pay up to $10 for that). If you are just passing by and want a taste, you can get a tiny bit. I love the lychee gel toping and the fresh berries. I think the mango flavor yogurt is the best. read more
