Approached a young lady and asked her about prices for uncut coconuts. Since I'm a local, I want to get a few to bring home and open them myself. Five bucks for small, seven bucks for large. really cute place we saw driving back to our hotel. The food was very good and it was a great local place to check out. Our eyes were locked on the large number of coconuts outside their hut and we had to pull over. We got the fresh coconut and then also paid the extra $4 or $5 for them to scrap the sides of the coconut as well. The coconut was fresh, you can pick your own and they do it for you. I only give it 3 stars bc the price is incredible steep. The coconut itself $10 already and the. We had to pay another $4 to get the bits out to eat? They had amazing fresh fruit! The mango smoothie was one of the best I've had. If you like fresh coconut, they had two sizes which they will give you straws for and then carve out the meat after you're done! The owners were super friendly and helpful, they gave us free apple bananas and baklava! Would totally recommend. Shaved ice was also very refreshing and yummy. read more

After the 1-hour drive up to Waimea Canyon from Koloa, we were thirsty and hangry! From Waimea Lookout, it took another 30 minutes to drive down to the main strip, Kaumualii Hwy, to find a place to eat in the quaint town. Our choices were limited due to time and transportation, so we ended up here because it said "THAI FOOD!" It doesn't even matter what a place looks like. You throw in the word "Thai" and I'm already salivating. So, to place your order, walk up to the hidden window just behind the wall of fruits. Ring the bell, if necessary. An American woman took our order. Then she verbally told the Thai lady what to cook. "That'll be $53, please." Say what?! Why is it $53 (I assumed it would be inexpensive because we're basically standing in a shack that looked like we were actually in the Philippines)?! "The Noodle Soup is $16, Fried Rice is $12 x 2 orders, and the Coconut is $8." OMG! You woulda thought we were 5-star dining. Ummm. Please cancel the Chicken Fried Rice. We'll keep the Shrimp Fried Rice. American lady to Thai lady. "Don't cook Chicken Fried Rice. Cook Shrimp Fried Rice only." Thai lady with confused look to American lady. "Cook Chicken Fried Rice?" Ughhhhh. Confusion in the kitchen and time is running out. It looked like the Thai lady was just getting started on cooking a fresh pot of rice, but the American lady assured us "She's quick!" The food comes out within 10 mins or so. Smaller servings than I envisioned, but guess what?! IT WAS SO GOOD! I read some of the negative reviews before mine, but I'm here to tell ya that it was flavorful (darn I wish I kept the chicken fried rice now LOL), delicious, and my craving for Thai food was satisfied. Let's talk about the Coconut. IT WAS FANTASTIC! Some people were seriously upset that they were selling coconuts for $7 (small) and $9 (large). Yeah, kinda pricey, but it's how they make a living (we're not in the Philippines...we're in the USA where the cost of living is high). To me, I just knew I had to get over the price. I was thirsty. The coconut shell itself was so cold, they must either freeze 'em up or keep them in a low temp fridge. The young coconut juice was also nice and cold - so refreshing. Best fresh coconut I've ever had and I've had many from all over the world. Totally worth it IMO!! I docked one star because of the price. Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised. Very rude service by one of the girls working there. My aunt politely asked how to pick out a young coconut and was told to just go by how heavy it was. We picked the heaviest ones we could find and they opened it up for us and can tell they were old. My aunt said "these are young?" And the server girl said rudely "YOU'RE the one who chose them." As if this was something completely our fault. She had such a bad attitude the whole entire time she was talking to us. She did not bother to say sorry how our coconuts turned out or simply say sorry but there are no refunds if that's what she meant. Also the coconuts were $10 each. Never going back. Oh and I almost forgot, she grabbed the coconut with her dirty ass fingers inside the meat. We threw that one away. Seriously no bueno. read more

We tried the large coconut drink and it was so refreshing! Once you are finished, take it back and they will cut open the coconut for you for free and slice out all the flesh for $1. Kauai is an island rich with natural beauty so it is only natural that we grabbed a few super fresh smoothies. The aforementioned glorious piña colada was chock full of super fresh coconut milk. The wifey grabbed some kale infused drink... she probably liked it but I can't stand kale and do not understand the current kale trend either. Very pleasant surprise we found This place. The pad Thai was no joke, the best I've had in a long time and we frequent Thai towns in LA and Houston. It was sweet in a way that was unique. They were so good we decided to drive back to Waimea another day for lunch since they looked so good the day we stopped for the smoothies. However on a day they were supposed to be open they were closed. No sign, no explanation, just closed. We watched at least 10 people walk up to see if they were open. Good food and decent food prices for Kauai.... The pad see ew was tasty, not spicy at all which is odd for us.... Smoothies and fruits are pretty expensive here though... Pineapples in Hawaii grow in the jungle and al over and then are $7 here when they are $1.50 in Arizona after they are imported from Hawaii.... Lol.... $7-$10 for coconuts is a new crazy high though!!!! These are all over in trees so I'll just stick to taking them myself at the beach and pupping then open there. This is a little hut that sells fresh coconut. I mean the freshest possible. They chop off the outside and give you a straw. Once your done drinking the fresh coconut juice, you can come back for them to cut it open so you can eat the flesh. It is so refreshing. Plus they have it refrigerated so it's cooled and not like those stands where it's sittig in the hot sun. They have other drinks as well, we also got a thai tea which was so good. I don't know if it was because it was hot and it tasted refreshing but it went well with our lunch that we had across the street. read more

The reviews are so mixed. I feel fortunate i had a positive experience. We were getting baked from the sun while hiking around Waimea Canyon and Coconut Corner was a little shop on the side of the road heading back into town. What is more refreshing than coconut water? Went for the extra large and we were told once we finished drinking the coconut water, we could come back and get the meat cut out for a few more $. It didn't take long to finish the jumbo sized coconut. We left with huge chunks of coconut meat to snack on! I shared an order of the Pad Thai with Shrimp. Great family run spot right on the main road on the way back from Kōkee. Ended up swinging by here in passing multiple times on my trip to grab some freshly cut pineapple and mango. The smoothie with passionfruit, mango and pineapple was nice and not too sweet.
