Every dish wasn't right in a different way. I ordered the pad see ew, Tom yum soup, pad Thai, and mango sticky rice. Pad see ew was too salty, the soup had extra spice and seasoning like maybe they added too much spice and tried to save it by adding sugar and it made me cough at my throat, the pad thai was too sweet and the mango sticky rice wasn't bad. I don't think I can trust the 789 reviews of 4.5 stars ratings. I'm not always writing reviews so it's been about 2 months since my dine-in experience. We came here on a Friday night on a whim since we were in the area. Hoping for a quick dining experience we were met with a wait just starting up. To our luck, we were second on the waiting list, table for two. However, I noticed that there was a big group of 15(?) just getting their food and all the tables were full, yet none of those tables were getting their food. It took another 10-15 mins. later that dishes were set down for the other tables. There was one waitress taking orders, bringing out drinks and food; one behind the counter organizing the dishes coming out from the kitchen. I then realized this was going to be a longer wait than we expected. About 40 mins later, we finally got seated. Starving, we were ready to order. Thankfully the food didn't take too long to get to us. We ordered: Sweet snap peas and shrimp salad - must! It's light and refreshing -- their coconut-lime dressing is to die for! They should bottle it. Crispy Salmon - fairly good. I'm not a huge fan of the sour-salty flavor of tom yum, but the arugula help balance that out. Chicken Panang curry - curry done nicely. I really enjoyed it. Friendly service and an unique flavor of Thai cuisine that I haven't had before will have us coming back. When I say there service is fast I do mean it. We ordered and within 5 minutes all three dishes were coming out back to back, the chicken wings, chicken pad thai and pork pad see ew. All three were flavored very well. The chicken wings reminded me of a restaurant I used to go that had similar taste, I liked it a lot. The pad thai was not too oily which is always appreciated. I did think the size was smaller then other Thai places. They close at 9:30PM but they will stop letting people in at 9PM. read more

Amazing! I came here for lunch with a good friend and we enjoyed everything that we tried. The Thai tea here is the perfect amount of sweet :) The lunch specials are pretty hefty and definitely filling. The soup was soooo good! The salad had a great lemon dressing that was delicious! My panang curry was delicious!! The sauce wasn't too thick but very creamy and spicy. They put the rice in a cute heart shape too :) My friend got the crab fried rice which looked and smelled bomb, which she confirmed to me. I was going to try it but was super full. Not a ton to say here. Sheer confusion by the high ratings. Service was sufficient. Lunch specials for about 10$ and entrees 13-15 range. We were starved so we both downed our meals and bounced. Pumpkin red curry was alright but not exceptional so the extra dry rice kinda ruined it for me. The brown rice was too dry. Overcooked rice makes me angry. Like, really angry. Grrrrrr Most things would have been good but CR still came out underwhelming. I'm not sure why anybody thinks that any of the food was that fresh. More in line w a take out joint that has some seating. I don't know if we just got the wrong things but I've had more flavorful Thai food for cheaper at many of the 3 star joints up in LA. Is there a lack of competition here or what?? Plus, it's hard to claim you're any kind of legit Asian restaurant when you don't even serve tea in pots steeping your own tea from a bag is just sad. We arrived here around 06:15 pm on Friday night and Boy was I hungry because my previous meal was breakfast at 10:00 am. I skipped lunch to lose some weight This is my first time here at the Famous Thailand Coconut Bistro in Cypress on Katella Avenue. You can't miss it if you are paying attention to Google Maps. I give props to our service lady because it seems like she was the only one working here tonight. So for appetizer starters we tried the golden corn fritters cup and papaya salad with fresh shrimp and they definitely didn't disappoint in taste or flavor intensity tonight. However I think it did lack that extraordinary Umami goodness to make it a 5 star rating compared to other Thailand restaurants in Orange county. The Pad Thai with shrimp a signature dish was quite disappointing tonight because way too sweet on the sauce profile and not enough savory taste. The Pad See Ewe was much better but our yellow curry chicken was a big disappointment to me. The restaurant seems like it's back to lockdown mode restrictions with only four guest per table and social distance between guests. However if you visit the beach cities they are not enforce these same restrictions like Huntington Beach. The service of the staff and team members truly affected the overall atmosphere of the dining room experience tonight. They didn't have their famous chicken wings or Thai desserts available tonight so we went to yogurt land for dessert and coffee afterwards. Overall the Coconut Rabbit Thai Bistro is mainly for a more robust lunchtime crowd but not really good for fine dining experience with Amazing glasses of great wine and coffee. Cypress is a beautiful city and has Amazing schools and restaurants. So for a quick bite of Authentic Thai cuisine just order online and pickup or have it delivered by Postmates/Doordash. Tamarind Chicken. Came here for dinner by myself before work so I couldnt order more than one dish. The menu had pictures of their dishes and a nice story behind the restaurant and how the chef was inspired with his food. It was a warm day so I deceided to go for the Tamarind Chicken after reading one of Yelp reviews from Arshad. I did not regret getting this dish at all! The chicken a lean cut, very juicy! Deep fried with a tempura batter and topped with an amazing tamarind sauce that was tangy/sweet and salted with what tasted like fish sauce. It was beautifully topped with basil! The aroma of the dish was wonderful! The presentation was so pretty! I never got rice in a heart shape! Little details like this shows how much passion they have for their food. The decoration inside was very modern. Drift woods adorn with succulents. I highly recommend this place! I need to come back and try more dishes!!! read more

We got the Green Papaya Salad, Panang Curry with short rib, and Panang Curry with chicken. What can I say we love Panang curry..... The Panang Curry was flavorful. We both enjoyed it. The Papaya salad was also very good. I never had shrimps in papaya salad. The service was very pleasant. They even served the rice heart shaped. We were the only ones there. We called in our order and they said it would be ready pretty quick so we jumped in the car to pick up the food and it was ready, hot and fresh as soon as we got there. We ordered the veg friendly pad thai, pad see ew, and pineapple fried rice, the veg appetizer mix, and some thai lime teas. Everything was really good! The appetizer was good, my favorite part of the mix were the corn fritters. The pineapple friend rice was so flavorful and the curry powder on it stood out and was amazing! The pad thai was so good, it was very sweet but thats what I liked about it. The pad see ew was tasty. I think the pineapple fried rice and pad Thai were my favorites here! I really appreciated thats they gave a lot of tofu in all of the dishes and the portions were really good size. I enjoyed the lime Thai tea, it had a very strong lime flavor but my wife didn't enjoy that one as much and next time would probably stick to a regular Thai tea. Overall the experience was great, we will definitely be back! I love Thai food but I really get to go because it isn't something that children usually opt to dine at, so I like to go with another adult. I joined my sister here at lunch and we ordered a string bean with beef, pad Thai, and a Masaman curry short rib. I think the restaurant is above average in - pretty descent food, good for the area. I wouldn't say it's the best Thai food ever but it certainly is better than average. I guess before the remodel they used to serve a smaller portions but their portion size looks pretty good here. $40 three dishes. Not expensive, not super cheap either. Not sure if that's how they're supposed to come but, it was good. The corn fritters were ok. I saw all the reviews and thought they would be better. I did enjoy the texture but, it lacked some flavor. I had to put a bunch of the sweet and sour sauce on it. The taro triangle were SO good. I bit into it and immediately said "these are my favorite!" Overall, the presentation was good, the appetizers were just enough, and we were excited for the rest of our dishes! Salad: The Papaya Salad - I was debating on a salad or a meat dish. I'm glad I went with the salad because it was so light and refreshing! Another meat dish would've filled us up WAY too much! The sauce was good. It wasn't so fishy and had just enough spice. You taste that thai chili! There were 3 shrimps on there that I think they grilled. Ehh, I didn't like the grill flavor on it. But, overall, it was a really good salad! Main Dishes: Short Rib Panang Curry and Chicken Ka Prao - out of ALL the dishes we got, the short rib curry was my absolute favorite. Thinking about it now is making me hungry! This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. I want to go back asap. The ambiance is nice, the employees are very kind and courteous, and the food is special. They are definitely vegetarian and vegan friendly. I got the vegan spring rolls which blew my mind. It had carrots, a bit of celery, lettuce. Sounds simple, but the texture of how finely cut the carrots were and the ratio of vegetables paired with the sauce was delicious. Next we ordered a green curry, and it came topped with a boiled egg. The curry was unique with peas and bamboo. The taste is hard to describe, but it was not watery (good consistency) and flavorful. The rice came in a heart shape which was very cute. Lastly, we got a Tom yum noodle soup which had cherry tomatoes in it to add a tiny bit of sweetness in the aftertaste. Everything was fresh and well presented. I ordered the short rib panang Curry and the papaya salad. both pleasantly surprised me because I was not expecting such a good experience. I started with the papaya salad. That was over all very fresh and offered a good balance of textures between the papaya and pump shrimp served on top. The complementary combination of tartness from the dressing and sweetness from the shrimps was very tasty. The Curry was the perfect matching of French meets Thai food. The beef was extremely tender and the massaman curry was the perfect level of complexity and sweetness. None of the flavors not overpowered the natural ingredients. The portions of protein and vegetables we're also well-balanced. To make the experience even better, the wait staff was very attentive and kind. I chose the panang chicken curry, and my friend chose the yellow curry (not pictured). First of all, the wings had nice flavor. However, the waitress said they were a little spicy, and they were not. The wings were more sour vs any other flavor: 3 Stars. On the other hand, our curries were excellent. The curries were silky smooth, and packed a punch. Additionally, they were bursting w/ flavor. I was SMAO (sweating my a$$ off). The curries were on par w/ the best Thai restaurant in OC, Thai Nakorn in GG: 5 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, the restaurant is located in a sterile strip mall. In addition, the restroom is unisex: 3 Stars. Likewise, the service was friendly & attentive. My only issue was that we asked for more napkins because the wings were messy, and we were given one: 3 Stars. A definite must visit if you are in Kelley U's ghetto of Los Al (lmao). Since I had Coconut Rabbit bookmarked and was in the mood for Thai, I decided to finally pay the restaurant a visit. I ordered the appetizer trio (4 of each): mini vegetable egg rolls, corn fritters, triangle taro (something). This appetizer platter was really good. The corn fritters are a MUST!!! Next up, shrimp pad Thai. I was not a fan. It tasted a bit bland! Even the shrimp was flavorless. There were some other dishes on the menu I want to try, so I'll be coming back.
