Not the most authentic but still very good Thai food with friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. I would recommend this place to everyone except for those who are from Thailand. This is the best Thai restaurant in the area. I wish there were more options but Coconut Rabbit does it for me. It is a little Americanized. There is no dried shrimp; any special ingredients and intense spice you would expect from a very authentic Thai place. But this place is probably more suitable for Americanized Thai cuisine. I recommend getting any type of curry here with roti. Roti is very crispy with a buttery flavor. Pad Thai is also pretty good but missing key ingredients like dried shrimp and radishes or whatever the gummy stuff is that you can find in legit places. But it has a good balance of sweetness and saltiness. Somehow it almost sounds like I do not like this place but I really enjoy food from Coconut Rabbit although it's Americanized. I got off of work early and decided to check this spot out for their lunch special! Their lunch special hours are 11:30AM - 3:00PM, but they close a bit to prep for dinner I think, so don't expect to get seated if you come in at 2PM. Most dishes are $13 and the tamarind chicken intrigued me most. It held up pretty well as I took it to-go. Good crunchy chicken with a sweet and sour sauce that was very tasty! A classic Thai spot that has a Pumpkin Chicken Curry ready for the spooky season! It's located in a strip mall and has friendly and quick service. Definitely worth a stop if you want some good quality Thai cuisine! I ended up getting their Pumpkin Chicken Curry just because fall is around the corner. Also, I haven't really seen it on other Thai menus so it's pretty rare. Anyways, the pumpkin that they use is not pumpkin, pumpkin, but kabocha squash which is very similar and so delish! It came in a super fresh curry that had notes of bayleaf and and was aromatic. It's creamy and on the sweeter side and pairs well with spice. Ask for it extra spicy! The chicken was sliced thin and was okay, but the squash and the curry were the stars of the dish. Anyways, a solid Thai restaurant that uses fresh ingredients as apparent when I had their curry. Quick, fresh, delicious! I've only tried the pad see ew here because that's my go to entree when I crave Thai food during the work week. I chose chicken, and it comes with eggs, Chinese broccoli, flat noodles. Noodles were short and torn easily compared to other pad see ews that are long flat strings. I think the shortness of the noodles gave it more char and smokey flavor from the pan frying. Called in for pick up and it was ready within 10-15 min/ by the time I got there. There's indoor seating. Small details such as nicer dishes, glassware and silverware lead you to feel that the owner sees you as a guest in their home instead of just another customer. She was attentive without hovering, keeping our waters filled and responding to other requests without delay. We discussed other items mentioned in Yelp reviews, and she proved herself to be knowledgable about the rest of the menu. The sauce is amazing. Sweet, sour, tangy I could totally have it more sour but it was just perfect as is. The sauce is addictive, so each bite was very anticipated. 4/5 short rib panang curry- really good. I don't normally order curry in general. My partner wanted to try it so we did. This was really flavorful. The coconut cream gave it so much fragrance and body. The rice was presented in a cute heart. Not enough rice though. I personally could've had more to match with the amount of curry. 5/5 pad see ewe- soo yummy. Noodles were a great chew and the sauce was so flavorful. I will order this forever. This is a small restaurant located in a strip center in Los Alamitos with plenty of parking available. We showed up on Saturday evening 02/11/23 with a party of four at about 6:30. We were lucky to get a table quickly. The restaurant is clean, efficient and the staff is friendly. I had the Thai Lime Iced Tea, which was yummy and came easily in a sealed plastic cup, in case I didn't want to finish all of it with my meal. For dinner, I had the shrimp pad thai, which was excellent with plenty of shrimp. It was a well balanced meal that didn't seem to skimp on anything. It was also priced fairly. The only problem was that the entire restaurant smelled like a wet dog. Seriously, I couldn't figure it out. From the moment you entered, that is all I smelled. It smelled as if a few huge wet dogs were roaming around the restaurant for a few hours. I would return again for take-out; however, there is no way I could sit there for another meal with that smell. read more

Such a hidden gem ! We sat down at this spot immediately and were greeted pretty quickly. We got the jungle noodles and the short rib curry. The jungle noodles were exactly what I wanted. However I only got 2 little cherry tomatoes in the dish. I wish I had more. Otherwise - it was a great choice for a dish. The cilantro garnish added an additional level of freshness & flavor. The veggies were cooked perfectly. The green beans and bell peppers were slightly crunchy, just how we like them. We also got the short rib curry. The short rib was tender and the broth from the curry had amazing flavor. In all honesty the peas in the dish really threw me off. They seemed out of place in my opinion. This is the closest Thai restaurant to my parent's house. I come here enough to help with my thai food craving. Parking is great and readily available in this shared plaza. This Thai restaurant does have authentic Thai food. It has a simple menu, but a good variety. Staff are getting friendlier and becoming more efficient I still have some issue with my online order, your order often does not show up on their end. You will start the ordering process when you come to pick up. This can be quit frustrating. The restaurant is quit small. They only have inside dining Food are traditional and scrumptious. It also seem to have fresh ingredients. This is a local joint with down home dishes that can be satisfying to your most sophisticated palette. Ok, this is my favorite Thai restaurant, period. The flavors were excellent. Delicate with not too much salt. We had the tom yum (lemongrass) soup with shrimp, the pad see ew with beef ($1 upcharge), the tofu bites, the garlic edamame, and the sticky rice with mango dessert. All were excellent.
