Cocoro was my favorite sushi spot when I went to college at UOP years and years ago, and happy to say, it tastes just as good as before! I always order their California Roll, and one of the reasons why it's one of my favorite sushi spots is they use real crab and you can definitely taste the difference. I also ordered their Tonkotsu ramen and it definitely satisfied my ramen craving that day! I feel like Stockton food can sometimes be underrated, but this is one of my favorite sushi spots in general, and would definitely recommend it to anyone who happens to be in the city! Service is always good as well, especially since there's always a good amount of people each time I've gone.

Yet ANOTHER draft that I have left unsubmitted. This is like the 4th or 5th in a row lol. One of the nicer spots in Stockton Sushi and Japanese food in general. They have a number of different rolls that I enjoy and they have special rolls from time to time as well. They have a full bar, play live sports and other shows on TV as well. Their main dining room is already pretty big but they also have an additional dining room in the back that would be great for larger groups. I can't complain about the service, while they may be busy pretty much every night (that I've been anyways), they are almost always attentive and do a good job keeping our cups filled. What really has my heart here though is their "dry ramen" it's so flavorful and texturally pleasing. Not that I have a lot of dry ramens to compare to but I really enjoy theirs.
Food outstanding Service...needs HELP! 2 stars Ambiance.. very very noisy and cannot hold a table conversation! Went here for my birthday and it was my request! Food 5 stars We placed drink order. I watched bartender make the 3 drinks and I knew they were for our table, my server did not bring them for about 10 minutes after they were made. Had to get his attention and ask where are our drinks? Drinks were not the worse or best. Cheaper brands used I guess.. just make my order that I order at other restaurants and it was very weak. I will only be back for the good and not order drinks! By the way bartender I was not busy making lots of drinks, just poor server service
Cocoro Bistro is the place to be! They have a variety of good food options & it's all sooo flavorful! Definitely recommend stoping by and giving them a try! The service was nice and love how they gave out recommendations of what to get; it made the choosing process that much easier. As I went to the restroom the owner walked up to our table to introduce themselves and that was very kind. The ambiance here is just magnificent; everyone just has a great time here because of the atmosphere they have created. 10/10 thank you for the hospitality and service CoCoro; you have my support 100%
We have been meaning to go here since the December sip and shop! So glad we did loved the vibe the owner is such a sweetheart and the staff is amazing. The food is excellent we only stopped in for a snack but will definitely add to our next dinner date spot. Also the bartender TJ I believe (young guy with braces) is AWESOME! As a former bartender watching him was pretty cool. He was definitely owning the bar!
So good and tasty. The fried asparagus was delicious. Sushi is fresh and perfect. Prompt service and the location is cute too. They have a great variety of rolls so something for everyone.
Still my favorite on The Mile. Do yourself a favor and sit at the Sushi Bar and chop it up with Johnny and Rafa. Spicy crunchy scallop roll is off the hook. Get the salmon belly nigiri and the otoro if you like that type of fish. Amazing quality and freshness unmatched in this town. Food was super good. The restaurant itself is clean and i like how it looks. Customer service was good not great as I wasn't greeted or even asked anything for a solid 2 min after waiting at the entrance in an empty restaurant with workers just talking. Our waiter himself did end up compensating for the beginning. The food is a little pricey but is probably some of the best Japanese food in stockton. The bar also looks nice and drinks are good.
Super cute place in Stockton. My boyfriend lives in the area, he's been here before a couple years back but this was my first time. Super cute and intimate on the inside, with also ample outdoor patio seating. We were greeted right when we walked in and there was no wait time. We sat outside because it was beautiful outside. I will say my first complaint was the table, was wobbly. So it was teeter toting so I had to keep my food on one side to prevent that from happening. We got the Parmesan asparagus, rainbow roll, combination and 2 hand rolls, unagi and spicy scallop. The asparagus came out and it was super good! Super crunchy and good side too! The pieces were big and crunchy! I was impressed. I wanted it with spicy mayo. But let me tell you, idk why but the spicy mayo was so spicy like I had one bite and the spice was lingering and just not enjoyable anymore. So I ended up just eating it plain lol Our sushi's came out and they were good! Good flavors and the roll was bigger than I thought. More pieces than I anticipated. Presentation was good. The hand rolls were a 6.5/10 they were ok. Nothing crazy I would have liked more flavor at least. 1 hand roll is about 7$, a bit pricy so I only got 2 lol Overall presentation was good, food came out pretty fast, prices were a bit more expensive than other sushi spots and service was super nice and friendly. Highly rec if you're in the area and want something nice and are craving sushi!
Cocoro has been a Stockton staple since I was a teenager but it had been a good long while since I'd been back after moving. The whole place gives off a great vibe with the lighting and interior all dialed in just right for the perfect ambiance. Since it had been a while I wasn't sure what to expect but I have to say cocoro exceeded my expectations on all counts. Looking at the menu, things were actually priced very reasonably, and I was also pleasantly surprised with all the portions. Wifey and I started with the pork belly and Brussels sprouts appetizer. Not going to lie, I often skip the appetizers cause at most places they're hit or miss but this was one I was very impressed with. The pork belly is cooked sous vide to get that perfect texture and then fried after for a crunchy exterior. If I had one suggestion to the kitchen it would be to fry it a little longer to get it crispier but either way it was very good. Served with pickled onions and sesame mayo it was a great start to the evening. Portion was generous and I'd order again. 8/10 Looking at the options for entrees I was really at a loss because everything sounded so good. I've had and enjoyed their sushi before but since my wife is pregnant we decided this wouldn't be a sushi mission, but we did order a spider (soft shell crab) roll for a little crunch. 7/10 Wife got the spicy ramen which we'd had before and knew wouldn't disappoint. They have an option with wagyu that I allllmost went with, next time! As far as flavor goes the ramen is delicious, though not quite as complex as some dedicated ramen houses. Upgrading to a ginger/soy marinated egg instead of a plain egg would be an easy way to elevate this as well. Overall still a great bowl of ramen that we'll continue to order, 8/10 Took me a while to decide on an entree for myself. It is almost always my habit to choose beef over other proteins but the chicken katsu sando really caught my attention and I felt I could feel and see the chef's vision. When our order arrived it was clear I made the right choice with the katsu sando. Holy- that thing is impressive! Biting into it, it was exactly what I was hoping for and then some. Wonderfully crunchy, a little sweet and tangy, juicy chicken thighs. Yes. I ended up asking for extra katsu sauce on the side which really just completed the experience making this sandwich a perfect 10/10. Loved it. Overall wife and I were super impressed with the menu, food, and service we received at Cocoro. We live in Lodi with no shortage of great Japanese cuisine, but I'm sure we'll be back within a week or so for more!
This was my first time at Cocoro. We were greeted by a friendly host and shown to our table. I noticed how clean the restaurant was and noticed staff cleaning stations; love this place already. Our server greeted us shortly thereafter to welcome us and to take our drink order. By the time she came back with drinks we were ready to order apps while we waited for our friends to join. The Brussels sprouts, usually not my favorite to order at other places, were fantastic! Shortly after our friends arrived our server was on the spot to greet them and offer drinks. We put our main dish orders in - they were out by the time we finished the Brussels sprouts. The food portions are huge. I took home at least half of my chicken teriyaki and rice to use with eggs the next morning for my boyfriend and I. Everyone raved about their dishes. Extra points: our dirty dishes were cleared quickly. Our server checked on us throughout our visit, even bringing another round of cocktails. My first visit but not my last! My new fave in Stockton! Cocoro is always our go-to spot for the perfect date night, and every visit is consistently a 5-star experience. Ty provides exceptional customer service and creates some of the best cocktails we've ever had. We usually stick to our favorites, including the Mango Margaritas and Old Fashioneds. Not only did we start with our usuals but this time we tried 2 different items I haven't reviewed. I spotted the Midoris Roll on the menu and am so glad I ordered it. It has the perfect amount of spice, incredible flavor, and, as always, the freshest ingredients. It will definitely be added to our regular rotation. To top off an already amazing dinner, I saw Ty making a "Starbucks on Crack" cocktail and had to try one for myself. If you enjoy a dessert-style drink, I highly recommend it. Espresso martinis can sometimes be too bitter for my taste, but Cocoro's version was smooth, balanced, and absolutely delicious. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised because their drinks are always outstanding. A huge thank you to Ty for always taking such great care of us and making every visit special. And thank you to Johnny and Tammy for creating such a wonderful dining experience. Cocoro continues to provide some of the best date nights we could ask for, and we can't wait to come back! read more

Food was great. Love their oyster shooter. It tastes like a citrusy fresh ocean. Chirashi was fine too. Was expecting the fish to be cut into cubes, but they were big sashimi pieces. Not a big deal. Service was fine. They checked in on me regularly. Ambiance was loud and busy, but as to be expected when your restaurant is on the miracle mile. I cannot recommend this place ENOUGH! I went with one of my best friends who goes pretty regularly as she lives walking distance away. We sat outside on the patio because it was a beautiful day, our service was impeccable. We had two different servers who checked on us frequently and refilled our waters several times. We tried a bunch of different items and all of them were delicious. The Hawaiian delight was probably my least favorite but not because it was bad, I just didn't like the sweet flavors in the roll itself but it was cooked well. The fried asparagus was easily one of my favorite things and I also loved the scallop roll. All of it was amazing and I will be going back! read more
Wait time was about an hour but thank goodness we were able to get in sooner. Very busy and packed. First time trying here as a local! The rolls were pretty tasty and refreshing. My favorite sushi spot ! Never disappoints from the service to the food & drinks ! Always a good time ! Some of my favorites would have to the él coco loco roll , spicy crunchy rainbow roll , for app the spicy garlic edamame grilled & my fav drink here is the strawberry mojito ! For a non-raw sushi roll the shrimp mango is a yummy option! Found out I was pregnant not too long ago and sadly that means no raw fish so I'm definitely missing it and will be back once I'm able to enjoy my favorites! read more

4/18/25 at approximately 2:30pm. Parking will aways be a inconvenience. Other than that I've never had a bad experience after all these yrs eating at this establishment. Today lunch consisted of 3 appetizers and a main course. The first was a new pork belly dish consisting of bite size pork belly accompanied by Brussels sprout that out numbered the pork belly 4-1 along with spicy mayo and pickled red onion. Tasty nonetheless. Next was the Shishito pepper. They are served blistered with soy sauce. You can also get them tempura. They were also tasty and non spicy. Last app was the Agedashi dōfu. Best in town imo. Always a delightful. For the main was the beef tomato curry with added chicken katsu. First time having such a dish. Didn't eat it all took most of it to go but it hit every aspect rice was fresh slightly sticky, katsu was crispy, and the curry was curring. Lol.. I was surprised by the portion size it's a hardy meal if you ask me. Anyways it comes with soup or salad. The soup is miso. I sat at the bar I was the only one at the bar so the bar attendant was great with every thing. He was server so he has great knowledge of the menu even suggested a few dishes. I went in a sister day with my big sister and the food was amaaaaaazing!! The staff were attentive and the rolls were the best! When we went , the atmosphere was very warm and friendly, kinda gave an early 00's fancy restaurant vibe lol. I will definitely be coming back! I got the carpaccio with Chicharron the flavor for that was like a party on my tastebuds, the meat was thinly sliced and the chicharron was crispy and not too dry, it tasted fresh! We also had the 1/2 oysters and Oml the favoring on that was immaculate, and the presentation was very lovely. It was my second favorite. Lastly we got our rolls and let me tell you the sashimi was really good and the spicy tuna roll was to die for. It had the perfect balance of spicy and freshness! You could tell all the rolls were fresh. I will definitely be come back again! Overall my favorite thing off the menus besides the drinks was the carpaccio the flavor profile on that dish specifically was delicious, I had to drive squid thing on it, and some capers along with the Chicharron the taste profile for it was immaculate. read more

This place was amazing! This was our first time here... Our daughter absolutely loves sushi, but has not really gotten to go to a place that takes the time to hand make and do them the right way. The difference was unmistakable, and she truly enjoyed her meal. The service and ambience was absolutely fantastic, everybody was super attentive and extraordinarily kind; it was dinner and they were obviously busy, but everybody took the time to come over and explain things on the menu if we did not understand or were indecisive and make sure we were doing OK throughout our meal. It was a wonderful evening, not only with regard to the food that the service that we received. Those two things are absolutely vital when it comes to the makings of a good restaurant and something worthwhile to return to. We will definitely be back. Delicious!!! I have ordered both for take out and dine in and enjoyed my food both times. The sushi here is phenomenal! So fresh and so tasty! The service I received on this last visit was great! The host accommodated us very well as we were in a tight schedule with our 1 hour lunch. We ordered the ceviche, edamame, and 2 rolls (one was Italian). The Italian role was amazing! I had never had sushi with pesto and it was surprisingly SO good. Moving on to the ambience. The restaurant has a very trendy vibe inside with a full bar and dark interior. I loved eating inside rather than taking my food to go. The sushi tastes so fresh and is one of the best I have had between Manteca/Stockton. Do they take reservations?
They do. Although, I've never tried but I think they wouldn't allow same day. Think they are limited on large parties because the location is small.
What are the vegan options?
They have several veggie roles, a tofu appetizer, miso soup, and salads.
