We had a good customer experience, thanks to our waitress, Tarah Marie. The restaurant was extremely busy and we were originally told the wait would be about 35 minutes. We were about to leave and cancel our name on the waitlist, but Tarah kindly told us she could get us seated in about 5 minutes -- and she did. From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating despite how packed the restaurant was. She took our order quickly, brought our waters right away, and continuously checked in to make sure we were happy and taken care of. When my daughter didn't enjoy her meal, Tarah handled the situation with so much kindness and professionalism. She took the dish back to speak with the chef, removed the meal from our bill without hesitation, and even offered to bring my daughter something else. Excellent customer service like hers really stands out. Tarah made us feel welcomed and valued even on a very busy night. We truly appreciated her kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism. Yummy sushi! I ordered Misaki for pickup and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered ahead online which was a slight difficulty. On the site, there are no descriptions or pictures of what any of the rolls are. I had to look for a copy of their actual menu to compare the names to the descriptions which was mildly annoying. When I arrived at the front counter, I was quickly greeted and had my payment processed. They were diligent and paid attention to the special request made in the order comments. They noted my request on the container - super cute! I came during lunch time and the restaurant was basically empty. It is super large and looks like it would be perfect for a date night or large gathering. I ordered the Connie Roll and it was insanely good. It was pretty large and super saucy (which I love). The crab meat inside the roll didn't taste like the typical artificial stuff that the majority of sushi restaurants use. The cream cheese ratio was also perfect. The salmon on top tasted very fresh. It was overall super good. The prices are a little higher than what I'm used to for comparable rolls, but for the quality, it makes sense. We stopped in on a Saturday night when waiting between my daughter's cheer competition. We walked in and a worker was on the phone. No acknowledgement of any kind. Stood there while 2 different servers walked up to ring up bills, run card and walk away. It was several minutes before anyone said anything, so it didn't start off so well. We finally were sat in the back and they just placed menus on table and walked away without a word. All I could hear was rap music coming from the bar area. It was definitely a strange choice of music to play for dinner. Just like waiting for a table, we sat in our booth waiting for a server to come by. We ordered our drinks and she asked if we were ready to order, as well. I said just another minute. When she returned with oir drinks, she sat them down and I was trying to tell her I was ready and she just walked away... so again had to wait to see how long before she returned I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box with California roll and my daughter asked for a 7 Pc Nigiri dinner. When it arrived, her plate had 10 pieces and I asked the waitress and she said its the same. She double checked and said we dont have a 7 pc (what's listed on menu), it's 10. The price was the same, so that was fine. But... my teriyaki lacked sauce, the California roll came oit with hard rice that looked like it had been sitting for hours. Just gross! In the menu, they had bottles of their "famous salad dressing" but when I got my salad, it tasted like peanut butter. Totally off putting. I did like the tempura, but they used a different batter for the shrimp than the veggies. The veggie batter seemed more traditional tempura. We recently moved to Lathrop and looked up sushi places and upon seeing no good reviews for the places near us, we came to Misaki after seeing some great reviews. Unfortunately, the service and the food were not as advertised in the reviews we saw. We got the Hos Bee wings, the sake sashimi, monkey crunch, spicy crunchy scallop roll, and the snow white. The wings were the best dish! Really crispy and the sauce it came with was flavorful. We ordered two drinks as well, a beer and a cocktail. Our server was very out of it and pretty inattentive. Tables that sat after us with a different server received food and service quicker and even left quicker. Our drinks took about 30 mins to come out. The monkey crunch roll was supposed to be spicy but tasted sweet and had a glue-y texture. The sake sashimi came out and it was just two pieces of nigiri instead and when we asked to send out the right one the server seemed confused again. Cousin and I wanted bar drinks before our movie, and we had asked host to sit at bar. 5 mins in, there was no one at bar, or even taking orders anywhere, but they were grouped up at the kitchen. Fine. Do your meeting, I understand how business need to start their day with their staff. BUT, when we asked the host if there was anyone to assist us, I saw the host make a few steps towards the dissipating group, and that was shouted in her direction- she most likely saw me ask the host for service. Awful. Left a bad memory enough that needed venting, here. Here's some course correction for this irreversible experience: maybe side bar with your host to tell me to be patient and provide transparency for why it's taking time to provide service 20 mins after opening, or maybe just don't just side eye that interaction and shout that so the whole restaurant could hear it. Misaki has been my go-to pregame snack and drinks for my rare Regal movie nights, but leaving the house earlier for a new pregame/pre-snack spot is my next move from now on. read more

I had one of the worst dining experiences at this restaurant. The customer service was absolutely terrible--our server was inattentive, borderline rude, and seemed completely uninterested in helping us. To make matters worse, the wait time for our sushi was ridiculously long. We waited well over an hour, only to receive mediocre sushi that wasn't even worth the delay. The sushi chefs act like they're celebrities, taking their sweet time while putting on a show instead of focusing on making food for paying customers. It's one thing to have confidence, but the arrogance was unbearable. I've had better sushi with half the attitude at plenty of other places. Definitely won't be coming back! Love this spot! We have been coming here for years, and there is not much we haven't tried on this menu. Tonight we sat at the sushi bar, and had Larry as our sushi chef. Even tho it was a packed house, on a Friday night, he was personable, knowledgeable and made excellent sushi. The Flaming Scallops were phenomenal! We got waters and started off with their fried chicken wings, which I ordered because I saw customers eating some while I walked in and they looked fresh, crunchy and hot. I am sure they are most known for their sushi, it looks delicious. However, I come here for their Yaki Niku Chicken. It comes with a salad and some rice. They put a spicy sesame sauce on top of the chicken, which I mix in with the rice. It is soo good. Keep in mind, they get very busy. There is sometimes a brief wait, but the bar to the left when you walk in is always open if there is no seating. Also, it is located next to a theater, parking isn't the best, but I would recommend you enjoy some Yaki Niku Chicken. read more
