I rarely use alteration services but needed a bridesmaid dress altered for a wedding. It needed to be taken in in quite a few places, hem, shoulders, etc... so it was pretty involved. Friendly and efficient service. I had a loose and flowy dark blue and below-the-knee bridesmaid dress hemmed to above my knees. Alteration appointment was super quick. I literally put on the dress and she pinned it to where I wanted and paid. She even gave me the option of picking it up the next day, but I just opted to pick it up in a few days. The total cost of the alteration was 28 dollars, which to me seemed a bit steep...but then again I don't really have much to compare to since I don't really get things hemmed all that often. Have used Coco a few times. Never blown away but satisfied with her work, until my most recent experience. I took a few suit pieces in for alterations...pretty easy stuff...taking in skirts and lengthening jacket sleeves. When I went to pick up my clothes, there were three other customers waiting, two of whom were unhappy with her, one of whom told me that Coco lost the material she brought in to have a dress made. When she got to me I let her know I was there to pick up and handed her my debit card. She rudely pushed the card back, told me she only takes cash and moved in to the next person. After running back in with cash, I took home my clothes, only to find that the $280 suit she was supposed to alter (for which I paid $52) was not done. In fact it still had pins in it Took it in and picked it up a second time. Wore the suit for the first time today. The skirt is still huge and the jacket sleeves were let down too far and are uneven. Worse...she made a black ring around the hem of both sleeves with her iron. She is so unfriendly and unaccommodating that I'm just going to eat the $52, rather than go back in a third time. I hope the dry cleaner can get the black out. For what she charges and the fact that she insists on cash, she should be better and nicer about what she does. Never going back read more

Cocoa is amazing! I purchased a bridesmaids dress at a bridal store, and although I gave them accurate measurements, it was difficult to zip up. Since the wedding is out of town, it's nearly impossible to go back to the original store and get it altered. I was so nervous because I wasn't sure what to do. Waste of a week. I would give ZERO stars. I came in early on a Monday leaving two new pair of jeans for just a hem. Didn't mind the ridiculous $12 per pair price and didn't mind a Friday pick up. Five days should be enough right? Well Friday comes and they're not only not done, but she now wants to do a rush job and for me to waste my time coming back in 2 hours. What a crock of sh*t. The bottom line is, I'm a hard to fit girl. I'm broad shouldered and muscular but my lower body is about half the size of my upper body. With that being said, pretty much nothing fits me. Nothing. Well, a fancy occasion is coming up and I was forced to be a big girl and go dress shopping. Hello torture. Anything that fit my shoulders could have easily fit a few of me in the bottom of the dress. At my wit's end, I searched Yelp for alterations places - hoping for magic. Well they turned out to be a bit short and I didn't have time to have them re-hemmed. Back home, having had a bad experience with Joseph Mattucci Tailors in the past, I decided to give Coco a try. She did a perfect job, same day, for a very reasonable price. The next time I went to see her was for my uniform jacket. The lining was in bad shape but the exterior was fine. I have had a good experience w/Coco in the past (except for her political complaints about democrats). I had taken jeans in to lower the waistband which Coco did, not realizing that the waistband would be larger when fit around my waist, rather than higher up above my waist. I was willing to just wear a belt but she told me to bring them back in. I had already paid about $30 to lower the waistband and then she wanted another $20 to adjust the waist. I thought she was going to comp the second adjustment since it was an oversight, but she insisted she told me that the waist should be adjusted and I refused, which makes no sense. Why would I refuse? I offered to pay something, but instead she said she wanted nothing and that I was not to come there again! She always seems cranky and unhappy, like the weight of the world is on her shoulders so hoping my new tailor has a more pleasant attitude. Her work is good but her attitude stinks! read more

Whenever I need to get an alteration done, I come here. Coco is honest and quite funny once you get to know her. The previous time I came here to get a dress altered for a wedding, she told me it would take longer because she has a lot of prom and wedding guest dresses to alter. I wasn't in a rush so it wasn't a big deal but I'm glad she was up front about it. Honesty is important in my book. This time I came to get a bridesmaid dress altered because the top was too loose and the bottom was a bit too long (even if I were to wear 3 inch heels). The dress was ready on the date she told me it would be (which was about a week from the time I dropped it off) and when I tried it on, it fit almost perfectly. Coco did a great job! I've taken things to Coco, my cute and friendly tailor from Romania before, she has always done an excellent job for me in getting my clothes to fit just perfect! This time around, I needed to have a black suit jacket repaired because the sleeve needed redoing as the thread holding the sleeve to the suit was coming undone and you could see the white fabric underneath. She said she would have to remove the sleeve and pull out the extra material underneath and resew it. As I came back to pick up the finished product, I was going over in my mind whether I had enough cash on me to pay for it. I was hoping the cost would not be over $26 and was reasoning with myself the max it could be is $36 and if so, I'm covered! She then said to me "that'll be five dollars." I had to bite my tongue from blurting out "that's all" for fear she would raise the price!!! Coco is great! She does great tailoring and she is also a very friendly and amicable person!
