The service was slow and the waiters seemed miserable. The prices are basically as high as the really nice beachfront restaurants. The food was disappointing; the "freshly squeezed juice" was neither fresh nor juicy. The food does have a few options that seem promising: potato pancakes / latkes, churro cakes, a few other offers that seem like cool twists on standard diner fare. Unfortunately, our latkes were soggy, not crispy, and the churro pancakes were just normal pancakes with cinnamon sugar added to them. The caramel sauce, whipped mascarpone, and applesauce sides that came with the dishes were much tastier than the dishes themselves. read more

Coco's is so good that we had breakfast there three times. The restaurant is spacious. I had the green juice twice which has pineapple, cactus, parsley, celery and spinach. They do take reservations and I recommend them because this is a popular place. Twice I had the "huevos naturales." I chose hashbrowns. They're delicious and I bet they're made from scratch. The buscuit is fluffy and delicious. I had huevos rancheros on another occasion and they're pretty good too. The coffee is strong and a good quality brew. I also had a limeade which was refreshing. My friend had gluten-free pancakes the three times we were there. This place is consistent with its food and service. I can't recall our first waiter's name. Diego waited on us the last two times. One of our favorite places for brunch. It's a charming cafein Zona Romantica with beautiful greenery, a patio, an outdoor balcony, and an open indoor space. They're extremely busy, but take everything in stride. No outbursts. Extremely professional. We really enjoy the service and people there. In our first visit I ordered the excellent Chili Rellano Omelette and my husband had the Eggs Benedict. Both are outstanding. Today I had the Fruit Plate with a side of sausage links, and Gary had Chilaquiles with eggs. I had a Pomegranate Mimosa and Gary had an Orange Mimosa. Outstanding! read more

They have gluten-free pancakes!!! Score! And so many different types of coffee's. I love a good cafe de olla. It was deliciously, cinnamony spicy good. Not spicy as in hot spicy as spiced! Additionally you can count 6 "guests" if you Include the bee that kept hanging out at the table We ordered pineapple agau Fresca and a green drink. Both are ok but not worth the price. What a beautiful place. Great seating and vibe. Lots of lights and plants and space between tables. Servers were pleasant and attentive. We had the most delicious breakfast. Their Chai Latte was amazing - maybe the best we have had. But the real star was the churro pancakes! OMG couldn't ask for a more decadent and fun experience. The breakfast burrito was also amazing and their spicy salsa was great. Will definitely be back at least once before leaving PV. Paid a total of $700 MX with tip for two people. I believe we've found our new favorite breakfast spot in Puerto Vallarta. ATMOSPHERE: Besides the good food, a huge selling point of Coco's is its tropical courtyard setting. Numerous mature trees naturally shade the entire area of low tops and a bar. Amazingly, there wasn't an issue of birds or their droppings. Indoor seats are available too. BREAKFAST & LUNCH MENU: Breakfast 8am - 2pm, lunch 12pm - 4pm. Breakfast selections, salads, soups, apps, sandwiches, Mexican Cuisine. They're open for dinner but I didn't see the menu. FOOD: Americano Omelette - $6.50 This omelette is filled with ham, mushrooms and cheese but I nixed the onions. Yum is all I can say. It wasn't stated on the menu but hash browns and toast came with it. Chilaquiles - $6.50 My spouse has been on a roll with this dish after seeing me eat it at Freddy's Tucan restaurant. He added shredded chicken and eggs and actually liked it better than Freddy's version as the red sauce was tastier. Pancakes A half order is the smallest size available, yielding two pieces. The batter was buttery with a crisp exterior and moist insides. SERVICE: We were greeted and seated quickly as they weren't too crazy busy. Our male server was friendly and efficient. So worth going off the low carb diet this morning. While my goal this trip is to explore new favorite places (see my best of PVR collection for more details), this morning we wanted someplace close and certain. This was all we remembered and even better. The almond crusted French Toast, playing off the sweet with the sour of the lemon curd, the crisp and savory bacon and the never gets old, fresh squeezed orange juice made my morning. The wife joined in the orange juice and savored decaf coffee (very good according to her, even against Starbucks standards). Her selection was the spinach Benedict, also done to perfection. Service is very attentive but never intrusive. The seating is very casual, the wicker chairs ok but not great. Sitting in the courtyard is very pleasant this cool morning although even with the umbrellas, you are the occasional target from the birds casting down some sort of seed pods from the trees above. I'm happy to report that nothing more unpleasant than that landed. I liked the piped in music although the accompanying construction noise (same building from my previous visit 2 years ago) is a bit less than ideal. I'm glad we came back and I'm sure we will come again next year. read more

Hot cakes de Manzana (Apple Pancakes). Fresh green apples, cinnamon and pecans. Glad I went for these, as they are so good! More than enough to let others have a taste. Coming on the ravenous side? Then add some eggs and bacon. You won't finish it all (my prediction, lol). This will be particularly true if you happen to start off with one of their tasted juice treats. The Mint Lemonade is delicious and unique. Or, go even simpler with Pineapple Juice. So fresh. So good ! Though the Apple Pancakes somehow sounded a little ordinary, I'm thrilled and pleased I got them. Was tempted to try the Churro Hotcakes, which frankly sounds a lot more fun. In truth (having gotten to taste them, too), they're kinda way too sweet for me. Your joy may vary. Again, add the eggs and bacon for extra strength. Not a bad call. And, if you're going to go walking a lot, or maybe even swimming, it's great to have all that fuel. I loved the scenic patio in back. There's a bar in the middle of it, too. (The front entrance area is also colorful and inviting.) Though it wasn't apparent at first, there's actually some really loud construction going on next door at the Hotel. If it's an otherwise quiet morning or afternoon and you're sitting out back, you'll definitely notice hear it. I don't think that's so much the case in the front of the restaurant. Despite the ongoing sonic intrusion, I still found the back patio to be relaxing and fun. I think Coco's Kitchen is great, and would absolutely recommend them. read more

Great apple pancakes. They look like hash browns. Never had anything like it. Terrible cappuccino, bland eggs, good bacon and hash browns. No flavor on their food. The staff gets very aggressive and rude when it comes down to how they want to be tipped. Took my card and then came back to the table to tell me he put 20% tip on my card before asking me how much I wanted to tip them. And my first time I went there, the waiter got loud and aggressive and got mad because I left a $3.00 tip on a $7.00 meal. I vowed not to go back , but I did just for the apple pancakes. Beautiful patio that blends inside and outside together and the food was pretty good. However, it's a bit pricy relative to other options (though you're paying for location so know that). I struggle with 5 stars because we had some pretty spotty service. When we arrived we got put on a waitlist but they almost seated a group that showed up after us. It was an awkward scramble where they turned them around and then sat us instead. Then we were seated and waited a while 10-15 minutes before they took our order. However, they took the table that was seated 10 minutes after us (and who had more people) before taking ours and so their food arrived before ours as well. They also forgot a side I had ordered, but they didn't charge so it was not a big deal. Overall, would I give them a second shot, sure. But there are lots of places with equally good (or better) food for a much better price and better service. read more

For many years this has really be a go-to place for breakfast (and it still is). However, this review is to highlight the new dinner menu that has recently been redesigned. As a vegetarian, I often have trouble finding new and delicious options when in Puerto Vallarta. I love the Italian menus, but it is also nice to be able to go to a more traditional restaurant with my friends. These roasted cauliflower tacos are delicious. Paired with a fresh salad, they make for a perfect meal. What a wonderful addition to the menu. My spouse had the grilled tuna steak and loved it - both the cooking and the steakhouse style presentation. We will definitely be back for the tacos and the tuna. Delicious Brunch in the the heart of Zona Romántica! The atmosphere is very inviting and shaded with trees indoor and out. Great customer service which is the norm here in PV. The people are really sweet and helpful. I ordered the amazing salmon omelette which came with a side or hash brown and fruit. I added a side of bacon, orange juice and a refreshing cucumber Mojito. This place is pretty popular for breakfast/brunch so get there at a decent time. They're also half a block away from the beach so you can walk off all the delicious food you devour. read more
