We had a Tapitia, Chicken Nachos Supreme. Both excellent! However I ordered a Cadillac margarita and it was terribly disappointing. It literally tasted like lemonade. Way to expensive a drink that was so weak. We will go back, but unfortunately no more margaritas. read more

Ordered to go crispy tacos & was extremely disappointed. The shells were store bought, they got so soggy from the meat (I picked them up and ate them within 20 minutes) that they fell completely apart. This is a picture of the tacos when we opened the box. We had to eat tacos with a for and 1 of them was missing half a shell. When I paid for my order the waitress pointed to a table across the room and said "your order is over there, go pick it up.". I always heard good things about this place but that was not my experience and I would not go back. read more

I was told food was good. I was very disappointed with the quality and price.ordered fish taco platter. Was told it only comes with 2 tacos because they are larger then regular ones. i ordered a 3rd extra.i baked if the fish was tilapia and was told no it was sea bass. But it sure ate like tilapia. The tacos were not bigger than normal street ones. For $24+ for three $2 tacos and a lemon lime soda. I feel i was ripped off and will never go back. I'll black this place forever. The "taco truck taco" with carnitas is one of the best Mexican-food items I've ever eaten. Coco's has nailed carnitas caramelization. The rest of my lunch plate was also really pleasant. Plus they serve beans with the complementary tortilla chips, always a win. The salsa is the bright, tomato-y kind, not hot. Service is pleasant and efficient. Prices are surprisingly low: if this same food was at a bistro in East Bay, it'd be at least 50% higher. Restaurant looks like a hole-in-the-wall from outside but in fact has multiple dining rooms and is table service. read more

I've given Coco's plenty of chances over the years--dining in and ordering takeout--but after today, I'm officially done. The customer service has always been bad, but today was on a whole new level. Every visit feels like déjà vu: it takes way too long to get seated, and once we are, we're basically ignored. After waiting forever, we finally get chips and drinks--but there are never any refills. By the time someone comes around to take our order, we've already finished the chips and drained the drinks. But today was the worst. We sat there for almost an hour waiting for chip refills, drink refills, or even just a little attention. It took so long for them to take our order that I finally gave up, left $10 on the table for the chips, and walked out. One of the employees offered to pack it to go, but at that point, we had nearly exhausted our lunch hour. I've tried to give Coco's the benefit of the doubt time and again, but nothing ever changes. For comparison, I've had much better experiences at Agave Azul. Sure, it's a little pricier, but the service is quick, and the food is great. At least there, you feel like they value your time instead of leaving you stuck in Coco's chaos. Coco's, this is it for me. To anyone considering dining here, save yourself the frustration and try somewhere else. Sayonara, Coco's-- it's later days. read more

We've been to Coco's Taqueria several times in the past and usually enjoy the food, but unfortunately, the service has taken a serious nosedive. During our most recent visit, our server sat us, took our order, brought the food... and then completely disappeared. No drink refills, no check-in to see how things were, and no follow-up at all. It honestly felt like we were forgotten. The food was okay, but it's hard to enjoy a meal when you're left wondering if you have to chase someone down just to get a napkin or your check. The quality of service has really gone down, and it's disappointing to see a place we used to like heading in this direction. read more

I live not very far out of hughson and have been wanting to try Coco's for a while. I was impressed with the service, the staff are all very kind and quick to work. The only thing I took a picture of was the bean dip we ordered, but we also got a crunchy taco and an enchilada. The bean dip was great, super flavorful, and the flour chips complimented it very well. I wasn't very impressed with my carne asada enchilada, though, because it was on tortilla and meat on the inside with a sprinkle of cheese on top. My mom wasn't impressed with her taco either. The shell seemed like one of those store bought ones. I'd say for a first experience not terrible, I'd like to come back and try some more food before I completely judge this place. First time we ate here, many years ago, it just wasn't up to our standards, so it has been a few years since we returned. Wow! We are extremely pleased with this restaurant now! We have now been about 3-4 times in the past month and we have enjoyed every meal that we have devoured. Ordering online is literally the best thing ever! I know that they are handicap friendly but I'm not one that enjoys sitting in a restaurant, so we order takeout. Food is delicious, flavorful and portions are spot on! Prices are great and they gladly work with item/ingredients swaps. It's really refreshing to have a great restaurant so close to home. read more

Since I've moved here, I was looking for a home restaurant. With many failures under our belt, we ran into COCO'S! Annnnnnd my heart and tastebuds would not be happier. It's very family friendly, the staff is prompt and on point. The pastor is to die for. Perfectly cooked. BUT THE MOLÉ is just as good as my grandmas, if not better. If I could give it a 3.5 I would give a 3.5, but I can't so a 3 star review for this taqueria. To start off the customer service is good! The people that work there are friendly. The lady greeted us as we came in and they allowed us to sit in the area when you walk-in because our bikes were outside. Which was nice of them. The salsa & chips were okay. The chips were decent, but the salsa tasted too much like oregano not to my liking. The beans that were served with it tasted super oily. My husband says his food tasted decent/basic it was nothing special. Just simple rice and beans. The a la diabla sauce was good. My food on the other hand was okay, I was not a fan of the nachos, the cheese was real stuck together and it just didn't hit the spot for me. Real plain. Ever in the Hughson area check it out! I had a regular burrito with carne asada, smothered in salsa verde and cheese. It was huge (only ate half, took the rest for lunch tomorrow). The flavor was pretty good, but there was a chunk of hard fat that tasted nasty). The service was great and the restaurant had booths and tables. read more

Son and I tried this place because the other Mexican restaurant in Hughson had a long wait. Glad we gave this a try. Very extensive menu. Chips came with bean dip and an excellent salsa. Son's asada burrito, my carnitas plate, and our street tacos were all great. Very authentic tasting! Only concern was how long it took to get our order, but it was pretty full so it wasn't like they weren't busy. Total bill was under $40, and that included a tall Modelo I had. Now we have another option when we want to go for Mexican food. I will be back to try other dishes. read more

It's ok. The food was good. We ordered a couple lemon drop cocktails and they were tiny. One was even smaller than the other. That was a little weird. The ambience was lacking as they were cleaning the restaurant towards the end of the night with really strong smelling cleaning products. This is the second time we've tried this place and they've forgot something in our pick up order twice now. This time they forgot our drink for the kids meal which was $8. They also say that the burrito we order has avocado in it and we both have not seen it in our burritos either time we got the food. The tortilla on the burrito is really thick and makes it hard to eat... the burrito overall is pretty good. read more

My whole family loves this place. Some come from outa town to eat here. My favorites are the shrimp tacos and chile Colorado. Bean dip served with dine in is very delish. Super disappointing. Tried the chicken burrito Supreme and Asada Supreme. My chicken burrito did not have sour cream. I tried the salsa first and as soon as I tasted it my expectations for the food went really low. Salsa is completely bland no flavor. Burritos had no flavor either..for $23 I expected a lot more. I had the wet burrito and daughter got 3 tacos. It was all delicious and I'm not saying this just because I was starving (since you know how everything tastes better when you're just shoveling it down with lightning speed) because I honestly did pause to taste all of it. Solid and satisfying. The complimentary chips and salsa were terrific too and they were refilled without our asking. Prices are worth the quantity and quality of the food. We had come from Fox Grove Park to give the feral colony there some kibbles, stopping here afterwards to grab a bite since the prospects in Modesto didn't seem appealing.
