If my layers were still longer than I'd like, she would keep asking whether to go shorter & do it very sweetly & with no hesitation. I have microlink hair extensions that are 18 inches long that were recently installed in my hair and was hoping to get them cut and blended because they were very choppy and Iooked unnatural. I spoke to a lady on the phone and she recommended chelsy so I scheduled the appointment with her. Chelsy did my hair she was so sweet and took her time making sure everything looked good. She washed it, put in a moisturizing deep treatment, blow dryed, and curled it. What I admire is that she didn't take any short cuts and made sure I was happy with my hair. I told her I wanted curls but she only had a straighter to so I kindly asked if she could use a curling wand and although she didn't own one, she managed to borrow one ! That's a stylist that truly does care. She's amazing at cutting layers into hair without taking off the length which was exactly what I wanted. I came out that salon so happy and confident!! Ps: There was another reviewer that was from Groupon that didn't talk well of chelsy but I wanna say that client most likely didn't communicate with her stylist. Lots of times people will see something they don't like on their hair and don't say anything about it when it's happening! I believe what made the difference with me having a good experience and her not is that I made sure to communicate with chelsy about the layers I wanted and even the type of curl I wanted in my hair. I found a groupon for Cody Rose, this wasn't the least expensive and not the most expensive. Let's start here. there was some confusion when they called me to remind me of my appointment, they asked if i could come in 30 min earlier. My stylist said she didn't ask for that change, so she arrived at 11 instead of 10:30. so i'll start with this, i donate my hair and i'm a pony tail girl, so i don't dye my hair or over heat my hair or use product. Chelsea, the other stylist that washed my hair, and a bunch of other folks complimented the health of my hair. i brought photos from the cody rose website or instagram that had long hair with beach curls. I had longer hair (slightly below my mid back) with no style when i walked in, and now I have too-short only a pixie hair cut can fix, over-layered hair that i'll just put in a pony tail until my hair grows out to fix. :( I'm rating Chelsea a 2 because i was hoping to get better and authentic consultation for my haircut and don't really feel like i got that. Shame on me for not asking better questions. When she styled my hair, I didn't even see any real curls. she used a flat iron instead of curling iron and the effect just didn't work. my advice, if it's your first time here make sure you know what you want. If you're looking for a style change, make sure you ask questions for a good consultation. POSITIVES The other girl was super polite and washed my hair until chelsea came in. I didn't get her name. Also, the biggest plus is that the owner is dog friendly, so if you have a small FRIENDLY dog, you might be able to ask if you can bring it in. lots of parking. So, today I went and saw Scotlynne to get my Keratin Treatment done. I have moderately long hair (think mid back) and she charged $30 extra, which is completely fair because my hair is really long. All in all, I feel like I got one world of a deal. She was friendly, knew what she was doing, and it appears she has a good reputation (think playful and friendly) with my other favorite Stylist, Andrew. This is seriously my go-to for some pampering. OH! Alright, so regarding the Keratin treatment, if you're cautious like me about trying "potentially life-altering" treatments I say bite the bullet for this one. My hair is typically Frizz-Zilla. I turn into Bride of Frankenstein if I so much as look at water (that's even WITH anti-frizz products!). I went in, got the treatment (despite the overcast and calls for rain) and would you know it? My hair has never looked OR felt better. No frizz. At all. I am shocked. ALSO, if you mention the Groupon to them they'll usually honor it which is what I PREFER but I received the treatment as a Christmas Gift (why do this? because Groupon is GREAT for getting your business out there, but they take a percentage of the money you spent.) I went to get a haircut + highlights using a Groupon I purchased. Booking an appointment was a breeze and was they accommodated the Groupon without any problems. The haircut and highlights took between 2-3 hours, and they were very attentive to make sure it was match to the desired color. Since this my hair color was dark and haven't colored my hair in awhile, it needed a lightener. This isn't included in the Groupon, just FYI. Had my hair done by a hair stylist named Sarah. She was incredibly sweet and made the whole process super fun. I had purchased a groupon for cut, style, conditioning treatment and blowdry. Cut was exactly what I wanted. I only wanted a few inches off to preserve my length but get rid of split ends. The conditioning treatment was great, with a heated cap and massage chair. Sarah gave me a scalp massage with the shampooing which was fantastic. The prices outside of Groupon are extremely reasonable. But once I was able to talk to someone, I scheduled my appointment for the next day! My stylist was Lulu. Deep conditioning only took maybe 10 minutes. The cut was fast as well. I just wanted a trim to get rid of split ends. Styling actually took the longest. But when it was done, my hair smelled amazing! The only thing I didn't like was the wash. I like nails and scratching of my scalp when I wash my hair. Otherwise it still feels dirty. The cut was done how I wanted it.
