The food is less than mediocre. We ate here about 10 years ago & thought the food was awful. We never returned until this week since we just moved into the area. I asked the waitress what is good & she recommended the eggs benedict. The eggs were over cooked & the yolks hard, the english muffin was burned on one side & untoasted on the other & was completely soggy, the hollandaise sauce was just awful .. it tasted almost like margarine was used rather than butter or it came out of a can?? even the hash browns were soggy with a huge pile just slopped on the plate. I don't get it. If you are going to have a restaurant why on earth would you not serve great food?? I write this honest review in hopes that that the owner/manager gets the message. read more

Another family-friendly place that we enjoy as Noletans when we want full-service, comfort food, a short drive and parking. I really love the pot-roast dinner and overall menu variety. The food is ok nothing special, the customer service is fine there fast which is plus with young children. I would be very careful with cashiers. .we asked for our bill to be split and I my card ended up being charged the full amount plus the split cost as well as the other card being charged so $50 lunch ended up costing over $100 .. after days! of calling to try receive refund still hasn't happened we just continue to get excuses from management. As much as I love to leave 5 star reviews I can't give more than three stars to this place. The food wasn't to our liking at all. Coffee was bad. Kids portions were extremely small. Unfortunately can't say anything good except that the guy on the phone was very nice and accommodating. read more

We have been eating at Cody's for years and it always has been consistent with the quality and quantity of food. The service has always been great. We regularly show up with a party of 6 and we rarely have to wait to be seated. They always have couple of daily specials that can be awesome. They offer old school meals like Pot Roast, Meatloaf, fish and chips and a wide variety of sandwiches and burgers too. The breakfast is good too. It can get a little busy on the weekends around 10:00 am but worth the short wait if there is one. This is a restaurant that the locals really enjoy. So, if you find yourself flying down the freeway and this place comes up on your app don't be afraid to stop in, you won't leave disappointed. read more

Very few customers at 6:30 for breakfast yet waitress was no where to be seen for long periods of time

Well Cody's has finally done the "raise costs and lower quality" as so many places do. Death! I have noticed menu items getting questionable but now they ruined the chocolate cake! it went from a wonderful slice of cake to a dry hockey puck, no icing and are charging 5.95 for this "ding dong" actually a ding dong is better! so so so disappointing Cody's shame on you read more

I really like this place. I've eaten here a few times and I've always enjoyed the food. I don't understand some of the reviews comparing Cody's to Denny's. I think it's way better! I loved my crab cakes Benedict. My eggs were poached perfectly and the hash browns were great! I've also eaten some of the lunch items and they were delicious too. Anyway, it's a cool place,nothing fancy but if you eat at Cody's you'll get great service and good solid food. Plus they have a full bar. Nothing wrong with that! read more

In the middle of the afternoon and it was very dark as all the blinds are closed. The service was horribly slow, even to pay. I would never stop here again. The patty melt was good but good luck getting a refill or the attention of wait staff. read more

I love Cody's. When people come from out of town, I always take them to Cody's. Their staff is great. Their food is great.

We used to love Cody's up until about a year ago. The manager/ownership changed, they sold their hard liquor license and the menu is really skimpy now. The margaritas are made with cheap "wine" not tequila. The tostada is very skimpy and they don't have tuna salad on the menu anymore. My son ordered pasta w/marinara and they were out of red sauce-what?? Staff is trudging along, not very attentive or friendly. I predict this place will be out of business by next summer!! read more

I just enjoyed a delightful dinner at Cody's Cafe! My guest and I were greeted warmly and seated readily. After perusing the menu we each chose an entree from their Specials board - I, the fried chicken and my guest had chicken piccata. Both dishes were cooked to perfection. Although the food was delicious, every person that we encountered at this restaurant was extremely rude. The hostess rolled her eyes and helped everyone before us when we were in line first. Just left disappointed. I ordered a salad with no cheese, chicken, ranch dressing or sour cream. I get a salad with shredded yellow cheese. They attempted to pick it out. Got the waffle breakfast. The waffle was burnt, the eggs were runny. The service was okay but nothing can salvage the bad food.

So sad the menu changed! All I wanted for breakfast this morning was the chorizo scramble. It used come with a choice of an english muffin. Now it only comes with only tortillas? No Substitutes!?! Was that really too much to ask? I don't want tortillas! So I ordered something else I was extremely unhappy with!!! Waitress could care less! Cody's continues to be a family favorite! Everyone enjoys their dinner or lunch here and with kid-friendly options, we will definitely keep coming back. Their house wine and cocktails are served up strong and very reasonably priced and generous size. Check out the local Clipper coupon magazine for savings coupon (usually saves you about $5-$7). We like dining in Goleta and having this family choice. The noise level is perfect, not too loud, not too quiet. Free parking in the lot. No waiting in line for a table, especially during busy holidays like Easter Brunch and Mother's Day. Omelettes are generous portion and served with potatoes and toast. Coffee is good and not bitter like some establishments. The dinner rolls are abundant and most dinners include a generous dinner salad--Caesar Salad or Green Salad (real mixed greens, not iceberg lettuce). Their salad dressings are yummy--Ranch, Honey Dijon, and Italian are our favorites! A family diner, without the greasy spoon. read more

This is a great place! Looking at the reviews, I noticed many of them seem quite petty. Including someone that felt it was necessary to bring a dog into a restaurant. Although I have only eaten here for breakfast, I have done so many many times. At one point on a weekly basis. The food is always perfect in my mind. The chicken fried steak is excellent, and I would say that I am well qualified to judge chicken fried steak :-) The restaurant is always clean and neat. I have had multiple items on the menu and everything is always cooked perfectly. I really don't know what The people that wrote these negative reviews are complaining about. If you are reading this to determine where you should go to have breakfast, or breakfast food, I don't know of a place that is much better. I really like breakfast and at times eat breakfast out every single day and have done so for months on end. So my recommendation is, go! Go with an open mind. And as always, leave your dog at home when you go out to eat. No one wants to see your animal in a restaurant while they are eating. That's just plain rude. Codys Cafe was a little disappointing. Ordered the shrimp scampi. Came with a nice mixed green salad, but the scampi was supposed to be sauteed with butter, lemon, capers, tomatoes garlic and white wine, served over fettuccine. Pretty sure cook used unsalted butter, no lemon and no wine and the shrimp were over cooked. Very bland. I asked for some parmesan hoping to save this $16 dish, but it only helped a little.
