We were driving by and saw Cody's and thought we'd give them a try. Nice ambience, neat vintage motorcycle on display, and friendly waitstaff. That's where the good ends. There are two locations, and during our weekend trip we tried their Garden City, Utah location for lunch on Friday, and their Paris, Idaho location for dinner on Saturday. Both locations servers were inexperienced, weren't familiar with what is what on the menu, and the cooks didn't know romaine lettuce from butterhead lettuce. We ordered salads and the lettuce was rotten. It was browning on the tips and feeling mushy. It was gross. Both locations drinks and food took an hour to serve even though the Idaho location only had a dozen guests. In Idaho some food we ordered, and it never came, and we were charged for it! We ended up just paying for things we didn't get because service was horribly slow! I'm patient with new waitstaff learning, but when they're typing our orders into a handheld computer and they still come out to the table wrong or not at all, then the system is broken. Utah location had two servers for about 50 people, so we understood. Don't order anything deep fried (wings, fish, or fries) as they'll come out burnt to a crisp! Drinks came out with the meals, and we never got refills. Needless to say, we won't return. read more

Great stop for a quick lunch. Good prices, good service, good food. The Cheese Curds and homemade dipping sauce were A+.

We were driving around the valley and stopped in after seeing it was pretty much the only place open in Paris, and that's not a bad thing at all, because this place was pretty good. We were the only ones there, but it's not like Paris is a bustling metropolis, but our server was really nice and quick. The menu was pretty varied, but for whatever reason they were out of a lot of stuff. I originally ordered their BBQ grilled cheese, but they were out of the pulled pork, so I got a quesadilla instead, and my wife got one of the burgers. The quesadilla was ok, not bad, not great, it was ok. The fries were amazing, as were the burgers, and the portions were large for the food. I think the burger was about $11 and everyone took home a box of leftovers, regardless of what they ordered. The menu has some salads, but it's mostly diner fare with some BBQ twists, more than likely there will be something here that can fit everyone's need. read more

We have driven by here for years and always wanted to stop in. I can't believe is never recognized it was the same Cody's as in Garden City. We had been to Cody's in Garden City once, just once. The Cody's in Paris had a smaller menu. I think this will be our one stop at Cody's in Paris too. I really want this chain to be good, I really do. But every time I've eaten there I'm disappointed. The food seems cheap and poorly prepared. The atmosphere is nice. The staff are sweet. The food is just comparable to a Chilis in an airport. read more

We decided to try out Cody's Gastro Garage, in Paris Idaho. We have eaten at their location in Garden City, several times in past. We have always enjoyed the menu at Cody's, as they have some pretty fun creations. The restaurant is located across the street from the Paris Idaho Tabernacle (built in 1889). The front of Cody's is a roll up glass garage door, which allows for a great view of the tabernacle and the main street that runs through the town. The food was good and the service was great. This particular location is not as large as the location in Garden City, but is still designed with the same cool garage theme vibe. I especially like their license plate hanging lights. If you find yourself traveling through Paris Idaho or Garden City (Bear Lake), be sure to give them a try. They have a lot to choose from on the menu and they will treat you right. read more

So I've been to the Cody's Gastro Garage in Garden City, UT, which was fantastic. Because of that I thought I would get the same quality of food here in Paris, ID. However, that was unfortunately not the case. They were out of a lot items on the menu (the famous raspberry lemonade and any thing with ice cream) and some of the items on the menu were printed incorrectly. The Ruben's meat was gristly and they forgot the thousand island sauce. The fish and chips my brother ordered was inedible. The fish was too tough to take bites of, to the point that when he took a bite the whole piece of fish would slip out of the battering. The onion rings' batter was patchy and the lemonade was so watered down you could barely call it lemon water. All that said, the server was friendly and I give him top marks since he was the only one taking orders and checking on guests the whole time we were there. read more

We stopped leaving from Bear Lake to Idaho Falls at this place for a quick bite as there are very few options in this area. First of all, if you care about your health/well being- this place is pretty RISKY! No masks, no gloves, no hand sanitizers, no soap in the restroom, cashier/waitress sniffling around. the list goes on but our grandma needed some food for her meds so We got a sandwich that was just ok, too! read more

This place was so disappointing. I wish I would have read the reviews before I went. My son had the Unbelievable Burger and had an allergic reaction. They do not advertise any allergen warnings on their "secret sauce" which tasted terrible and ruined the taste of the burger. Who puts Nutella on a burger? I had the BBQ KacyDilla and the chips that it comes with spilled all over the dirty tray as the waitress was bringing it out. She put the plate down in front of me and told me to go ahead and grab the chips off the tray. The same tray she used to pick up the used dishes and napkins from other tables. I told her I wasn't going to eat those chips. She ended up being me out another bowl of chips but I didn't eat them because for all I know she went back and scooped them off the tray and put them in the bowl. Will not be returning. read more

Went to this place with a tour group of 30 early in the season. Looked ok. Limited menu. Wait staff friendly but seemed a little inexperienced. Couldn't tell you about the food because, by the time it arrived, the rest of our group had eaten and paid and were ready to go. I sent mine back because I didn't want to shove my food in while inconveniencing my group. The four other people at my table were hungry so they tried. They said the food wasn't especially good and cold to boot (after waiting 45 minutes!) I underdtand that places get slammed and that our young waitress probably needed more training but a check in/ sorry your meal is taking so long would have gone a long way. Why didn't the senior staff or manager lend a hand? If you want the tourist bus trade, up your game. Easily the worst place we ate during a two week tour of the National Parks. Be warned. read more

I went to Cody's back in March (10 months ago) and I can not stop thinking about my absolutely amazing lunch. I had the sexy smoked ham sandwich (it's been so long but I'm pretty sure that was the name). A pretzel bun with great quality ham and cheese, so simple and so so delicious. I'm not usually a yelper but had to search for this place and leave a review. I live in Orange County and you just can't get food like my husband and I experienced back home. You could call it high quality home town cooking. I could not forget my sexy ham sandwich if I tried and can not for the life of me recreate it. I hope I one day find myself traveling through Paris ID and can go to Cody's again. Happy new year :) read more

If Paris is your only option..... maybe. Burgers cooked from frozen patties probably from Sams Club and no sauce on them at all. It was more money than it was worth. We had a late lunch at the restaurant. The food was fine, although they were out of carne asada, which two of us had ordered. The downside was that it felt like we had interrupted the waitress. She never once smiled, we had to ask for silverware, napkins and took our own glasses in for refills. Maybe she just had a bad day, but it would have been nice if she was at least pleasant. read more
