We really enjoyed our visit to Gold Buckle Grill. The restaurant is clean with a nice rustic feel that isn't overwhelming. It was fairly quiet when we got there, but it soon got busier. Stopped in for lunch after driving from LA. Service was great, the ladies were super nice. Our food was excellent. My husband had the pesto grilled chicken sandwich, the pesto-mayo on it was so good! I had a grilled cheese on thick Texas toast with a potato soup, both were delicious. It was a great place to stop and have lunch, and the scenery of the rolling hills on the patio was nice. After our family vacation in Jackson Hole and on our way to Salt Lake City, we decided to stop at Gold Buckle Grill because of its rating and convenient location. Unfortunately, our visit was quite unpleasant, and we ended up leaving after waiting a half an hour without anyone taking our order. Upon entering, another family walked in at the same time as us and was promptly given menus. After about ten minutes of waiting without any acknowledgement, I went to the front to request a menu. The waitress I spoke with stated that she was too busy and would bring one over when she had a moment. Shortly after, a third family, who appeared to be locals, entered the restaurant. They were immediately provided with menus, and the waitress came to take their order right away. After waiting at our table for about thirty minutes without any service, we decided to leave and found a fantastic place for lunch called Crawford Trough, about 30 minutes down the road. Despite being busier than Gold Buckle Grill, the staff at Crawford Trough were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our hamburgers and shakes, which were served very quickly. We would highly recommend Crawford Trough to other travelers. read more

The ambience was terrible. If you are not, Caucasian, don't bother. It's the only restaurant in Cokeville, but after stepping into the restaurant, I decided I wasn't going to support it. We were staying nearby after spending the day at Bear Lake. Upon entering we were greeted and told to sit where we like. We waited a good 20 min or so just to get a menu and then waited again for order to be taken, long wait for our drinks and extra long wait for food. Which wasn't that great. The French dip did not seem like a normal French dip but crumbled up hamburger meat but didn't taste like it. So not sure what kind of meat it actually was. Stopped by for some gas and realized that the next food was in 70 miles. Didn't want to come in, but our party of 8 was starving. Boy, what a great surprise. The decor was updated and the service was great. I cannot say how pleased we were with the food. Everything was fresh and the ingredients were quality. It is clearly a family owned place and we love to support those- the girls were serving and mom was in the kitchen. What a great stop! They seemed to get a big rush when we got there so food took awhile. Service was friendly and apologetic for the wait. I had the mushroom Swiss burger and thought it was very good. I prefer my sweet potato fries to be a little more cooked, but I liked that they were large and plentiful. My husband had the French dip and said it was okay. Loved this place so much! We were on a road trip and this place came up on google with great reviews. They were sooooo nice, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We were trying to get back on the road with our cranky little ones and they were so helpful and made everything to order and with love :). We tried yelping this place before stopping, but it wasn't in Yelp. We went ahead and gave it a try as we were just passing through, and we are so glad we did! The burgers were juicy and amazing. Super crisp, tasty French fries, and very friendly, efficient service. They got slammed when we arrived and the waitress was working alone. I had a stopover in Cokeville on a road-trip between Denver and Glacier. This is the only restaurant in town. I got the special seasonal grilled chicken salad with blueberries and candies pecans. The lettuce was fresh, the chicken juicy and the blueberries large and plump. It came with a yummy side of garlic toast. The wine pour was quite generous and the service was good. No complaints at all. Family run business. Mom seems to be cooking all the food and the woman knows how to cook.
