My best weekends in Cincinnati often start with a quick trip to Coffee Emporium. My husband and I typically stop by the downtown location - but decided to mix things up and give the Hyde Park shop a visit instead! There's almost always a line out the door at this location - especially on weekend mornings. Such was the case last Saturday, but this team does their best to keep that line moving and grooving! I'm always tempted by the adorable mugs on display - and this trip was no exception. I feel they've stepped up their mug game even more recently ... which I didn't think was possible! I went with my usual "Toddy Jive," which is their signature cold brew, plus a little cream and vanilla. My husband decided to try their "Aztec Warrior," which is a latte with a kick of cayenne. Both were delightful, as always! Just the pick-me-up we needed before a long day of errands around town. We did have time to stop and sit for a while on their patio ... which seems like the place to be on a Saturday morning! We especially loved seeing how many people had brought their dogs out to enjoy the morning ... and the Coffee Emporium sign that welcomes dogs in all outdoor spaces. When the weather is actually sunny and nice, I highly recommend taking your coffee to-go and taking a walk in the nextdoor neighborhood to admire some beautiful homes. read more

Great place to work or hang out! There was a line out the door on a Friday morning so be willing to wait. The menu is extensive with several variations of lattes / cold brews. The Aztec Powerhouse latte recommended by the barista is a perfect blend of sweet and spicyyy. The upstairs space is pretty peaceful and has tons of natural light through the windows. I dont know how I missed this review, but Coffee Emporium has been one of my favorite places in Cincinnati since before I even moved here over 8yrs ago. This location is in a charming older house in a beautiful part of Hyde Park. I was first directed here by a local during a visit to the city and loved the coffee and atmosphere. I have been coming back ever since! One of the big draws for me is their gorgeous outdoor space. There are various places you can post up and spend some time working or relaxing and taking in nature. Oh yeah by the way, the coffee is awesome too! On my most recent visits these guys were rocking the Covid safety by only allowing outside dining and a certain number of people inside to order at a time. They would then bring your drink outside when it was ready. They crafted me a delicious large iced bumble bee, which they do not usually do iced. The helpful staff member recommended it that way to me and it is my new go to drink! They of course have every drink you could think of, things to eat, and coffee beans to take home! This place is consistently a great experience and more recently, since ive been working from home, I come here every so often to get out of the house and do some remote work. Love it! read more

Coffee emporium single handedly got me through grad school and I am forever indebted to their coffee gods. This place has it all, the charm, the aromas, the yummy treats, the smooth coffee, the friendly baristas. I could write a whole dissertation on this place. What would I do for a Klondike bar? No no, it's more like what would I do for a Java Jive. A lot, I would do a lot. I moved away after school and I think about a medium iced Java jive almost daily. Coffee emporium stuck by my side through it all and even through the pandemic! They are more reliable than any crusty old finance bro could ever be! They're a local business doing coffee and baked goods right. They're a long-standing institution in the area for good reason. The coffee is great and reasonably priced (on par or less than what you'd find in other places), the staff is super friendly, the building does get cramped but the shop is warm and homey. They have celiac and vegan friendly options for food and baked goods and a lot of seating both upstairs and outside. Parking can be a pain but that's a common issue anywhere anymore. Very exciting being able to visit this local favorite while we were in town. I was really impressed with the quality of the coffee they had as well as the varieties of beans they had for sale. I was excited to learn that they roast their own beans as well! I don't have the name of the woman who I interacted with but she was SO KIND AND HELPFUL. She noticed I was looking at beans to purchase so she talked me through some of the various blends they had and even helped me make a selection. I was thinking about buying the Italian Roast and she warned me it was their darkest and offered me a sample of the Sumatra they had on hand that day since they didn't have the Italian. This was awesome because I was able to test to see if I wanted a darker roast than their Sumatra. I loved the Sumatra and ended up ordering a cup while I was their as I also picked up a pound of the Italian to bring home! Works great now that I'm home and have 12+ inches of snow keeping me inside. I ground up some beans and made an extra cup! Outside of having super helpful people there the place itself was just so nice and enjoyable. We sat outside in the cool air and sipped some coffee. It was a joy! I love the Hyde Park Coffee Emporium! It holds a special place in my heart, as this was one of the first coffee shops I ever checked out after moving to Cincinnati. It is located right off Erie Ave and only has street parking, so it can get a little crowded, especially on weekends. However, I've always been able to find a spot one way or another as it's located near a residential area too with plenty of street parking. The staff here is always very kind and welcoming. One of my favorite drinks to get is the milky way, as it combines peanut butter and mocha together which is DELICIOUS in an espresso drink. I normally will get one of their breakfast burritos as well on the side, or their chicken salad sandwich. Both are great! The Hyde Park Coffee Emporium is one of my favorite go-tos when I'm looking to get some work done. They have an upstairs with plenty of seating, and a lot of natural light from the big windows, as well as a cute little patio area outside that's a good spot to sit in during the summer. The wifi is always very fast and connects right away. I unfortunately have no pictures to attach with this review as I always drink my coffee too quickly before I can take one.. it's that good. It was like an escape! This quaint little shop on the corner is perfect for a morning brew or an afternoon pick me up. The upstairs is the perfect spot to pull out your laptop or cozy up with a good book while enjoying their many brews and baked treats. Stop in here any time for a fresh tea as well. Their assortment of loose leafs is one of the best selections I've seen. And don't even get me started on their baked goods: try a scone or a cookie and you'll be in heaven. They had such a beautiful assortment of pastries (giant cookies, fresh cakes, cupcakes, crossaints) that all looked incredibly tempting. In addition, they served grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, etc for a healthier option. Plenty of seating too. There was abundant indoor seating upstairs, which would be great for studying since it's away from the hustle-bustle downstairs. Definitely be prepared to stand in line, but the wait is short. The amount of extras for tea and coffee merchandise options is nice for a cute gift. It's on the pricier side for the merchandise, but the food choices and coffee choices are average for a nice coffee Shop. It was clean, obviously popular, great location to walk to other stores in Hyde Park. It's in front of multimillion dollar homes, so I'm sure it's the place to walk to for a nice refreshment or morning coffee. I bought the strawberry matcha and some loose leaf tea. I watched them make the drink. It seemed like a strawberry syrup at the bottom, tons of milk or cream, and just a title bit of matcha. If you are sensitive to milk, not the drink for you. I have a love/hate relationship with coffee emporium. The coffee is delicious. The location and setting is perfect for a neighborhood coffee shop. The staff is always super helpful. The upstairs is perfect for small meetings, studying, or doing work. The bad is the loooooong liiiines and inefficient set up. They've tried to improve it but it's always a cluster. Is it because of the ordering set up? Or the droves of young urban professionals in wonder of tge coffee emporium overwhelming cuteness/charm and coffee goodies. Probably a bit of both. I'm just bitter that it takes so long for me to get my large black cup of the nectar of the gods. I wish they would set up a fast track (like they use to have) or a punch card for us standard coffee drinkers. read more

One Saturday morning, I made it a point to stop by. This location happened to be the closest to where I live. This location is super cute inside. They also have seating outside and I think an upstairs area. They have all kinds of goodies you can purchase as well as small bites. They also have a decent size drink menu. I love iced lattes and that's my go-to so that's what I ordered. I think I had a caramel and vanilla latte. It tasted pretty good and homemade. I struggle going to mom and pop coffee shops because I am so use to Starbucks lattes which tend to always be sweeter. However for a mom and pop shop, I was pleased. I've lived just a few houses down from Coffee Emporium for years and let me tell you... it has THE best coffee, espresso, scones, pastries, and snacks I've ever had! Coffee Emporium is a coffee shop on the corner of Erie and Portsmouth Ave. in Hyde Park. This coffee shop was just recently renovated in the last year or so and is beautiful inside! The first floor is where your order and purchase your drinks and snacks and the second floor has seating as well as board games, chess, you name it! They also have plenty of outdoor seating & WIFI; people are always working here! Coffee Emporium has the most friendly staff who will remember your name every time you come in. They also have a rewards program, my family will get a free drink every few weeks! During this hard time of social distancing, Coffee Emporium has made safety their top priority. They are still open, although shortened hours until 4 P.M. Only 3 customers are allowed in at a time and they have a perfect system to ensure as many people can be served as possible! If you live in Cincy or are visiting, you have to try the Walnut Green Tea and add a little honey, it is my favorite.
