Coffee Gallery is my "must visit daily" place when I am on Oahu. Everyone is awsome... from the people who work there to the people who visit there, to discuss current events, life, and the next thing to do while on the N. Shore. The best time for me to go is during the holidays an hour before the store opens... the string lights hanging in the huge tree out front, the smell of brewing coffee, the crashing of winter waves in the distance, surfers catching one last bit of shuteye B4 daybreak to catch those waves. As it gets lighter, the Holiday lights go out, the door opens, and I am more than ready for their great coffee, and carrot cake (or apple pie when they have it). Headed here after the beach. We had it before and the coffee was pretty good. This time we opted out for coffee since we did not want a sleepless night so we chose the "mudslide" which was supposed to be chocolate and peanut butter. It tasted mostly like peanut butter but still delicious. Anyways we also ordered some snacks. I had the 'I love lemon bar' and my husband had 'haupia and mac nut bar'. Both were so tasty and worth the price. When they give you the feeling of working out and running miles because of the guilt, you know its good. Anyways, if you are ever in the area, the Coffee Gallery is pretty chill and good. They also have a freakish live camera of you when you order coffee. Weird but neat at the same time. read more

The one-star is based on my disappointment with customer service and service in general. We walked in and stood at the counter while waiting on the staff hanging out and chatting at the back of the counter. I made eye contact with one of the gals and it was about perhaps another minute or so before we were approached. We said "hello" to the gal taking our order but she gave no response, as she was too busy staring at and addressing some dude putting cream in his coffee. When she finally turned her attention to us, we placed our orders for 2 iced lattes. She then said that we could save $1.00 ($0.50/each) by making our own drinks at the counter. We declined her offer. However, she still made us our ice coffees and instructed us to use the cream to our liking. Sigh. We decided to just leave with HER order afterwards. I love this place!! First time there. We went later in the day so there was not many to select from in the bakery case. My little one ordered a Brownie shake. EXCELLENT!! I shared a I think its a California bar. I hope that is correct. EXCELLENT!! We sat in there Internet section, it was a chill, relaxing atmosphere. Loved coming here when I stayed in Hawaii. I love coffee and it seemed that the owners and workers all loved coffee too. There were a lot of custom blends to buy and every day they brew different blends for you to purchase. It's a nice, little, cozy place. They sell some nice vegetarian pastries too. Whatever you do, DO NOT get a mocha brownie! I'm warning you, do not risk the addiction. A couple of months ago, I noticed this new addition to the pastry case. Since I love a good brownie, I decided to try it. Now I'm ruined!!! I think about these things all the time...gooey, fudgey, chocolate chippy goodness...Sometimes I wonder how it would be heated up with a side of vanilla ice cream...mmmm....Anyway, back to reality...I usually don't Yelp about things or places that I really, really love, because I'm greedy and I don't want to risk limiting my own access to my favorite things/places. Every trip we take to Oahu we go to Coffee Gallery. So far we've been there four times. It's funny but every year I get older and it seems the staff gets younger. That being said, they are so nice, and accommodating. The coffee, tea, shakes, and baked goods are always fresh. There are wonderful Hawaiian treasures to be had. If you need to grab some reminder of your trip there are very unique and kitschy things for you! It's tucked away in North Shore Market place so don't miss it when you are driving through. The marketplace is full of fun shops. The entire village has a laid-back feel. There is no hustle-bustle. My husband had a regular coffee: strong and robust. I was thrilled to get a matcha latte with coconut milk. Typically they have macadamia nut milk but they were out of it. That is my favorite milk and it's hard to find, so I was a tinge disappointed, but what can you do. Make this a stopping point while you are in Oahu. Plus, the village of Haleiwa is worth the drive! read more

This is a great place to go for coffee and delicious desserts.We go about once a month as a treat and to support a local business.My only warning is that depending on the employee working, you may not be able to get your coffee in a ceramic cup. Tonight we were told it was 25 minutes to closing and she didn't want to wash cups. I repeated "25 minutes? You can't serve in ceramic?" She then agreed too, we ordered then when she grabbed a disposable cup I reminded her we want ceramic. She was noticeably "Huffy ,in a hurry and not really happy to serve us.We cancelled our order and left. This doesn't happen when the owner is there! We went to Starbucks in "Sunset" and our favorite barrista Jackie served us with a smile and commented that "25 minutes to closing is plenty of time to serve a customer!" read more

We popped in to this funky coffee shop for our morning pick me up. The line was long but the service was fast. Two delicious iced coffees and then once we saw the baked goods case .. we couldn't resist. They had sweet potato muffins covered in cinnamon sugar. Plus a pumpkin cream cheese muffin we couldn't pass up not trying. Both were so yummy! read more

What a wonderful find this place was. After we found it, we stopped in every time we drove through town. Good coffee and pastries and lots of tables. It was also very clean and efficiently run (which seems to be an exception in Haleiwa). Lots of unique coffee and souvenirs for sale, too. FYI, Google and Apple mobile maps seem to have the location of this place wrong. If you're looking for the worst cup of coffee, terrible service, and a horrible place with no wi-fi to top it all off, look no further! This is the place to waste your money. We didn't actually order a coffee here, however, we did buy a couple pastries as well as a few bags of coffee beans. The shop had no problem grinding the beans for us (we didn't have a grinder at home). We purchased Banana for ourselves and gave a package of Sexual Chocolate to friends as a gift. My review is solely about the service, not the product. I don't drink coffee, but I purchased some here as a gift. I had parked rather far from the store, and I was doing a lot of shopping in the area, so I asked for a plastic bag for the bag of coffee that I had purchased. The cashier gave me a lot of attitude about getting a plastic bag for one item. She even rudely commented that "I had better find another use for it." I understand that she was probably trying to be environmentally conscious, but I disagree with (1) pushing those views on others and (2) rudely commenting on your paying customer's desire to have a bag for purchased product. I needed the bag because I anticipated having many other things to carry in the long distance back to my car. But even if I didn't, I still think that a paying customer is entitled to a bag and should not feel bad for asking for one. I strongly encourage you to address this issue with your cashiers. read more

The Coffee Gallery had become my home away from home when I lived in Hawaii. The atmosphere is always very laid back and relaxed. The people are great! I often left my laptop at one of the tables while I ran out for 10-15 minutes and I never had to worry about somebody taking it. I loved meeting all of the regulars. Love this little joint. I've actually found that it's one of the better places to grab lunch. The burritos are tasty (make sure they serve it hot). The raspberry vinagrette clashes with the pear salad, but I haven't found anything else to complain about on the menu. Perfect environment for creative writing, long phone calls to friends, or surfing the interweb. Consistently good service.. Long lines move fast. The girls behind the counter are super friendly. This place did not have samples and there was no one to help answer any questions, everyone was too busy behind the counter. The coffee here is super delicious. This is always a pitstop on my trips to the North Shore if I start in the morning time. The lines can get pretty long in here, but its really worth it. I dont typically try anything on their menu other than a regular coffee, but thats just enough for me. Its more of a nostalgic thing for me as I used to come here on the regular in my younger days as a college student when I actually had the time to romp around the island without a care in the world. read more

Mocha freeze. Holy shit the mocha freeze is delicious-ice cream, espresso, and chocolate. They have a good selection of ever changing pastries (Life by Mocha must be eaten), daily soups (split pea is good), and croissant sandwiches. Customer service is hit or miss here though.
