The location and the view are the best things about this place. I really wanted to like this coffee shop as I love supporting small businesses, but the high prices and quality of the drinks leave a lot to be desired. Great spot owned and operated by lovely woman, she bakes, prepares, cleans opens closes that place everyday by herself and that place gets packed. On top of that great tables n chair setup outside right on the dock. Many respects to the owner and highly recommend the products she sells. The homemade apple pie was to die for. The coffee and espresso's were excellent. Amazing location. However, on a busy day I would expect a line. For a Saturday, there was only one person working which was odd. I'm sure it's situational, but that meant for a decent wait time. I ordered latte macchiato to which I was asked if I wanted it the 'Starbucks caramel macchiato way' or as a regular latte macchiato. Granted, I can see how that was a clarification question but it did make me feel slighted as a 'basic millenial'. The drink was poured in front of me using froth that was sitting on the counter & an espresso shot sitting on the counter. Not fresh. I understand it was a busy day & the person was working alone but come on... I don't think the beverage was the quality it should have been because it was not made fresh. I used a credit card and got the small hot beverage & a apple turnover. Which was somehow $12.15???? I don't know if there was an up charge for credit card use - but if there was it was not clearly written because I would have just bought more stuff. Very cute but insanely overpriced. I asked how some fruit was -- $3.50 a piece -- but because I touched it, I had to buy it or they would throw it away. I get that it's COVID (good policies help keep people safe) but put a sign up and drop the emotional manipulation. I visited Newport this past weekend and went to get a coffee. The people in front of me paid $25 for 2 coffee's and I couldn't leave. I asked for a small Carmel iced coffee (usually $3 at Starbucks) and she charged tells me $9.50. This was the smallest cup, maybe 12 ounces at most. The coffee wasn't even good. This location is small with a good amount of offerings, although I wish they had breakfast sandwiches. It is also pricy. The location is beautiful, and it was so peaceful to enjoy a latte on the water. The ham and cheese turnover was yummy. It was a nice Saturday morning and the husband and I walked around the area and had been meaning to check out this coffee joint. The place itself was the size of a small pierside shack but with an outside space with a few tables and chairs that look out to the water. My husband got an Americano while I got a hazelnut latte; the coffee didn't taste burnt but...rather bland? There was no depth in flavor of the coffee but I prefer that over over-roasted coffee. The coffee itself I give a 3 but the nice view was a 5. I'll most likely bring visitors to this place for coffee on a nice day but not for a regular cup of joe as I've had better elsewhere. read more

A very quaint little coffee shop by the water! The girl working behind the counter was very sweet. I couldn't decide between a vanilla or chai iced latte, so she ended up mixing the two for me. She even added whipped cream on top, my favorite! It was very yummy and the taste reminded me of Fall. My boyfriend got a regular iced coffee, which he said was pretty good too. BEWARE!!!! We went to the Coffee Grinder this past Saturday and were greatly overcharged. My wife ordered the following: (1) chocolate chip scone $5.95 (1) raspberry bar $6.95 (1) small regular coffee $3.20 (1) large regular espresso $4.55 (1) large hot chocolate $4.55 (1) large vanilla chai cafe latte. $4.95 Total=$30.15 plus 8% tax ($2.41) comes to $32.56 The owner tells my wife it was $47.70! There was a long line and my wife questioned it and the owner said that was the price. She comes back to the table outside and tells me. I then go back inside and ask the owner if I could speak with her about the price. She starts rattling off what we ordered out loud with prices and I assumed that she was being truthful. I accepted what she said and didn't want to make a scene. When we got back home that night, I looked up her website and looked at her chalkboard pic with the prices. We got charged nearly twice as much. I then read her reviews on yelp and Facebook and realized we weren't the only ones who had this experience. So please be aware of what you're ordering from her and the prices. This is very sad for us because this was OUR place that we would always visit.
