So refreshing to see this modern, hipster looking coffee shop in the heart of Morgan Hill during my first time visiting the downtown of this pretty location. I was imagining only vineyards and old ranches or a farm here and there...and I get a mini Walnut Creek all getting fancied-up! So a nice little town deserves a nice coffee shop. Coffee Guys seems to be the one. I loved the drawing on the wall (or it is a painting? or a giant sticker? the barista could not solve my doubt but who cares, looks pretty cool. When I first walked in, this place definitely has a hipster feel. The people working here are very welcoming, which I appreciate. I really like how they serve Verve coffee here. Since it was my first time here, I decided to get a latte with soy because you can't ever go wrong with a latte. It was perfect! They also have Oatly oat milk, which is one of the main reason I wanted to check this place out since there aren't many coffee places that have oat milk. Sadly, Oatly is have a shortage on oat milk, so I couldn't get my latte with that. I also got the Nutella Cragel, and let me tell you... it's freakin' amazingly delicious! I stopped into Coffee Guys in the early afternoon on a Monday. It's nestled into what appears to be an 'up and coming' downtown area based on the condo construction going on. It was a walkable neighborhood with a brewery, yoga studio, and other things. The coffee shop itself was quaint and had outdoor seating, which I frequently look for. I ordered a large, medium roast drip coffee which was reasonably priced around $2.50 (I think). I liked the drip coffee; it was a nice roast, not too bitter and not too strong - for coffee rating comparison/reference, I do not care for Starbucks coffee beans (too bitter). read more

I was super stoked to have discovered this place. I asked the sweet cashier for the "fattiest and creamiest" drink and she recommend a Cafe Breve. Had I known this beautiful creation existed.. it's going to be my go to now. BUT with that being said, I haven't a clue what quality or brand of cream they use. We had a strange experience in this establishment. First, the wait in line was unusually long for any coffee buying experience I recall in the past, and that was clearly due to inattentive, distracted and otherwise occupied (phone calls) staff. After 10-12 minutes of waiting we finally got the coffee that was by no means terrible; but it was nothing special as well. My Americano that I repeatedly asked for "short" came out standard full of water. To staff's defense they redone it quickly. Coffee Guys also had no ice! Literally! We ordered an iced drink that was not possible to get due to that. There were no signs for customers that ice wasn't available - it would have been good to know prior to standing inline. Strangest occurrence of all however was that the business could not take payment for coffee due to systems being down. It was unclear why they chose to operate at all under such conditions. In other words, this place is not worth the "local" coffee shop visit, take your business to Peet's instead. read more

Came in on a Friday afternoon to do some work. Got a cold nitro brew plus a breakfast sandwich with egg & cheese. The Breakfast Sandwich was pretty disappointing, the bagel itself was super dry and hard, petite, and the cheese is barely there in the egg. Would not recommend unless you really like super hard bagel/bread. Nitro cold brew is... nitro cold brew. It's not the best I've had, but definitely far from the worst as well. There's no shades for any of the windows, so on super sunny and hot days, a lot of the seats indoors will be less desired. Overall impression is that since it's a spot alongside the Monterey, there will always be customers due to its location, like a Starbucks/Peets/Main Street Bagel near a busy downtown street. Who would have thought Morgan Hill would be getting gentrified?! 10-15 mins away from the Gilroy Outlets, this is probably one of the few, real coffee shops that you can get aside from being in San Jose. They serve the Santa Cruz famous, Verve Coffee. This is where i learned that espresso + half & half was called a breve (shame on me). Good quality coffee, clean interior, available bathroom and friendly service. Plenty of street parking and some lots nearby during construction. read more

So stoked for Morgan hill! They finally got a great local coffee place in an excellent location with great coffee and friendly people. There was enough seating indoors and outside, and it felt like a really good atmosphere studying or working. Had a nice quick chat with one of the employees and he ended leaving me a free drink coupon for my next visit. For my first visit there, I tried the cold brew coffee and a Nutella cragel. I ended up spending some time there working, and the music was set at the right volume and the noise in the coffee shop wasn't loud or annoying. Nutella was pretty unique, probably wouldnt get it again, but it was nice to try. There's plenty of parking either on the street or in the parking garage, and the building is awesome! Pretty simple coffee shop located next to a spacious parking garage and a bustling downtown area. We got the cold brew and a mocha - pretty standard coffee I'd say but they were really fast and service was friendly. They had a nice outdoor patio area to relax and enjoy the drinks. I ordered a hot vanilla latte and the latte was really good. Vanilla lattes tend to be a sweeter drink and many cafes end up making these sweeter coffees way too sweet. This was not the case for this cafe. The coffee has its sweetness but it also had a strong hint of the coffee flavor and a bit of its bitterness. The baristas were also very nice and friendly. The baristas are into soccer, so if you would like a quick chat with them soccer is the topic to bring up. Lastly, the service was nice and the interior of the cafe is also nice. A great place to get your work done as well. Just be mindful that they don't have a lot of seats. read more

This was my first visit to Morgan Hill and Coffee Guys was recommended. It was a great suggestion. The staff was patient while I reviewed the menu and even offered samples. I went with The Missile. It's 50% cold brew concentrate, 50% half and half, and some vanilla syrup. It's delicious, and highly caffeinated for a jump start to your morning. Customer service was lacking. As another person mentioned in their review, I also encountered a cold experience with one of the guys who took my order. His responses and tone toward me was cold and short. However, there was a guy before me who placed an order and he was very friendly and smiled at him. Thrilled to see a decent coffee shop in downtown Morgan Hill. And they also serve chai bag tea (kudos) from a reputable brand. Surprised they don't have wifi - you have to use the free downtown which is spotty. And seating is very limited. Once the place catches on it will be an issue. Because we heard that there's a new coffee shop in town! I ordered a cup of cappuccino in 12oz size and a lady said cappuccino is served in 8oz size only (my bad, I didn't read carefully. It's already written on display). I'm ok with 8oz size but what caught my attention is her suggestion that said "you can get a latte for 12oz, it's quite same just more milk". Yes, cappuccino and latte use same ingredient but if you're serious 'coffee guy' , you know that it's different :) Anyway, I got my cappuccino with looks like some latte art - leaf on top. I tried my cappuccino, I could taste some fruity/acid of coffee bean but overall taste is more like latte with smooth creamy milk. I decided to not return because it's Sunday - take it easy. I also ordered a cinnamon cragel (a mixture of croissant and bagel) for my afternoon snack. I couldn't enjoy it much because it's stuck!! Seems the paper napkin which uses for wrapping it got stuck when they warmed it for me :( The shop looks nice, modern, quiet and good for hangout. You can grab a cup of coffee and do some browsing, reading a book inside the shop or just walk out and sit under the table, enjoy fresh air outside. I was around the area when I wanted a cup of coffee. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I wanted to know their specials because I was a bit far from where I lived. I wanted something new and different from the usual Starbucks, peets, philz. I believe I tried their bourdon honey latte. Holy molly was that the right choice! The women who recommended me the drink said it was the right amount of sweet for my preference. I explained to her I do like my coffee on the sweeter side and wanted to see if the specials would fit that description. It definitely did! Im so disappointed that their quality has decreased so much. I came to this location about 2 years ago and it became my favorite coffee shop around the area, however, I think now during the pandemic they seemed to stop caring about the quality. I ordered a mint mijito and it was so bad, it tasted just like milk with a chocolate syrup. Their iced latte was very bland and they were out of several milk alternatives. Came here on a Saturday morning in August to grab some coffee and a little something to hold us over. The staff are super friendly and the place is very modern, sleek. But the coffee was disgusting. Call me a coffee snob but I've been to a lot of coffee shops all over the world and this was just bad. It tasted like medicine. We tried both the cold brew and a hot americano yet neither tasted any better. I had to put sugar in mine to hide the awful taste when I normally use a dash of h&h or have it black. I would've been fine with throwing it out but it did cost around $3 so I figured I'd try to make the best of it. We also got some pastries. I got a cinnamon fusion of a donut and croissant, it was okay. And we also tried the cheddar jalapeno croissant which my bf said was like putting a brick in your stomach. Flavor was good but both were very dense. We ended up trashing half of each since it was too heavy. The place is close to a farmers market area that's open on Saturday and near a decent vietnamese shop. Prices are reasonable but deceptive since the coffee is a horror.
