The name Coffee Haus implies coffee. While they do have coffee, it's mainly bubble tea & the like. Coffee was just ok. Was hoping to find s good substitute for Starbucks. The place could really use a good cleaning. Obviously aren't investing in a window cleaning service as they're filthy. The light fixtures are clear glass and are really dirty. If they didn't hang down over the tables it wouldn't be so obvious. Several of the tables were dirty. This was for sure a one time visit. Just gross. read more

I was disappointed upon entering to find that it really wasn't a coffee house, but a sort of bubble tea/coffee/ice cream shop. It seems like they're trying to do a lot at once. I had been excited to get coffee, so that was slightly disappointing. I got an iced tuxedo mocha w/almond milk. I'm pretty used to the taste of almond milk, I can't have dairy, but I could taste the milk in this one...or maybe it just wasn't very good. The place did not look very clean. I go here primarily to get bubble tea; I'm a big fan of taro milk tea with tapioca. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful if you ask about certain flavours and add ones. One negative is that the bubble tea doesn't seem to come in the traditional plastic containers (the ones where you stick the straw in to puncture a hole) and instead come in the more common plastic cups with a lid on them. The boba itself tasted very good although it seems they go a bit light on the amount of tapioca. read more

I used to go to the one in Schaumburg when I lived in Palatine, so I was very excited to go check out the South Elgin location. Needless to say, I LOVE THIS PLACE. *The staff is really friendly, they always give service with a smile and they also give great recommendations. *They close late during the week, so it's a perfect study spot for me. *They have more space than the Schaumburg location, so I can get a seat with no issues. This isn't you're typical Starbucks. In fact, it isn't Starbucks at all @ all the reviews that try to compare it to Starbucks coffee. I always come here for coffee and bubble tea and I LOVE it!! The taste of the coffee is different from Starbucks and personally, I like it better than Starbucks (sorry Starbucks lovers. Pink drink is still amazing though). Coffee Haus specializes in boba drinks but yes, they do serve actual coffee. It is based off your preference in coffee if it is good or not. Prices are nice and the packaging on the cups are so cute! Best place to go during a hot summer's day or a cold winter's evening. As a Korean-Japanese person, I love the Korean coffee. Delicious. Very clean place, aesthetics are nice, I come here for dates here and there. Don't think this place is just for teens and the young ones, this place is for everyone!! Finally, coffee haus near us!!! Me and my husband were super excited for we love bubble tea. Now we don't have to drive all the way to Schaumburg which is 45 min. from our home. So this location is pretty convenient (15 min. away) Love the location, so easy to see from the road. Interior is neat and clean and they use real fruit for their bubble tea's which is worth it! I love korean bingsoo (shaved ice dessert) so I was really excited to find out coffee haus in elgin. I got the strawberry bingsoo and it was really disappointing - not enough strawberries, maybe they accidently gave me a regular bingsoo. There is different kinds of bingsoo on the menu and when I asked the cashier what a "haus" bingsoo was, she had no clue. It would be helpful if the menu listed all the ingredients or a brief description of each dessert item so the customer knows exactly what they are ordering. I like the fact that they use real fruits for smoothies. I ordered a bubble tea with tapioca and was so disappointed when 3/4 of my drink was filled with tapioca. I would come here again since there is no other korean dessert/smoothie place im elgin that I am aware of. Next time I would ask for extra strawberries on my bingsoo and less mochi. As for the tapioca bubble tea I would ask for one spoonful only. read more

The reason I'm giving such a low review is because of how understaffed this place is. The garbage is usually full ( and sometimes smells ) and drinks take FOREVER to get. It took us 30minutes to get our waffle ice cream order. First they said they forgot, so I would think it won't take that long to get it. I mean how long can you make a waffle, I would imagine 5 minutes tops. But nooooo it took forever to get our order. This is ATM exactly 7:23pm. Not that crowded so not alot of orders for a waffle. me and my friends walked in the place and it was balls, very crowed, and felt very harassed. There was a line out the door and it moved once every 10 minutes we couldn't even hear the server when he would ask what me and my friends wanted. after that there was people that were waiting for their drinks over 30 minutes there's little to no seating and boxes blocking the bathroom they don't even have it organized and the waiter kept on screaming extremely loud almost ear piercing, the order number multiple times when no one would come up to get it. They have 10 to 15 drinks just sitting on the counter molding until some poor little kid knocked them all over and they cleaned up the moldy spills half ass and they were so bitchy as well when it was tgere fault that the drinks were just sitting out in the open. After we ordered we had no place to sit and after standing for 35 minutes we just decided to sit on the blue chairs that were uncomfortable and looked like someone shit on them, very dirty. the drinks were watered down i ordered smoothie and it was like the texture of milk. terrible only good thing was it my straw was pink even the place is a whole Sahara Desert hotter than hell seats and tables were sticky. read more

I have had lots of hit or misses with their menu. I have failed at getting a thai iced tea / thai bubble tea twice now. Honestly, if they don't brew thai iced tea like it is supposed to be made, then they shouldn't have it on their menu. It is an expensive & (disgusting) drink I have thrown away twice.
