After a weekend in NL Tahoe for my boyfriend's participation in Tough Mudder, we decided to make a quick stop to Truckee since we were so close by. I felt completely underdressed when I walked in Coffeebar, as I felt I should of been in some type of "Tahoe" gear or hiking gear. LOL The selection of coffee and teas were pretty different and for sure something I would have had a great deal of time looking over the menu for. I had thought I ordered a latte-type beverage, but got a tea instead. Nevertheless, it hit the spot for sure for me. I like strong coffee so I like coffee bar, I have respect for brewing entire canisters of french press, though I could live without the grinds... Great little snacks and plates. It would be cool to see them have more traditional breakfast stuff, though I suppose it is rad that they have their own thing going. My only major knock on the place is that they are so popular now that come Saturday morning, it can be a long wait for a cup of coffee - if you just want a simple cup you have to wait online with everyone who is getting a crepe or whatever it may be - If they had a Wild Cherries style cash jar where you could grab some coffee on the go it would be neat. Super cute place!! Great music & great food!! I had the Paleo Bowl, which was delicious! Kale, sweet potato hash, & peppers with garlic tahini sauce. I also added a poached egg to top it off. I also loved my coconut chai tea and appreciated almond milk as an option. The pumpkin doughnut holes were literally to die for!! We took some back as a treat for the rest of our group of 10 and every single person loved them!! We all liked this place so much, we went back the next day! referring to my fellow yelpers on a coffee recommendation before leaving our truckee visit did not disappoint... coffeebar is legit. ill keep it simple. i got a piccolo sized latte with an extra shot (free with yelp check in). tasted delightful and strong as hoped. we got one of the premade paninis in the case for our drive home and it was tasty. only ordered to-go but the space is very nice, inside and out, and appears as popular on the weekend as you would imagine with the whole space filled and a bit of a line to order. the baristas are quick, though. if you are around the area and wanting coffee or a nibble...this is the spot to go. they also have a coffee beverage made with gelato (espresso affogato) my sis stated that was her fav back in australia during warm days. wish i had been in the mood for that! read more

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Maybe you would have to pay for parking nearby (I paid about $1 an hour I think). But it's a great environment to get a ton of stuff done. I was there for a good 4 hours and witnessed a huge range of characters from all over enter and stay for a while or just run in and out. Definitely a busy place (and I could see why). Every time that we are in Truckee we end up getting coffee here at least once. Definitely great quality of coffee and a great place to also grab a bite to eat. We recently discovered that they also sell wine here - great stop to buy a bottle to take home without going to the super busy Safeway. Why not 5 stars? The parking in downtown truckee can be impossible and the small parking lot makes it sometimes difficult to get that desired cup of coffee. Love this place! We spent a good chunk of our day here since it was snowing so badly outside. Everyone was really friendly. Since we stayed so long, my boyfriend and I each had two coffee drinks. Regular coffee, caffe marrochino, peppermint mocha, and lemon chiffon latte. All of it was yummy! I also had a sweet crepe with Nutella, banana, strawberries, and mascarpone. So good! My boyfriend had the Milano panini which was amazing! I was a little jealous and stole lots of bites. We would definitely come back here again next time we're in truckee. read more

Well I'd like to give this place higher ratings but our experience was not good. Came in for a bite and coffee with a baby and toddler around 1pm. It was a constant rush of people in and out but we managed to find seats. After 35 min or so of waiting patiently for our food my husband inquired (avocado toast and sandwich) and they had lost the order and we had to retell them what we had ordered for them to start making it. Nobody apologized or seemed to care in the slightest about their mess up. No offers of a free drink while we waited, nothing. I think I would have relaxed if they had just said they were sorry. When it came out they had packed it in to go bags so we had to ask for plates etc. the kids working in there could not care less. Food was just ok. One star for having a changing table but toilet looked like it hadn't had a good clean in ages and having the brown toilet brush on the floor next to the changing table was grim! We will definitely pass next time we are in town. An update of this review the owner Greg reached out and seemed to really care and be apologetic for our experience which he expressed is not typical or tolerated. Super cute hipster coffee shop! I ordered the avocado toast with a poached egg and bacon and my bf and brother ordered the sausage burrito. My avocado toast was one of the best I've ever had without feeling like it was trying to be hella fancy. Just good organic ingredients no fluff. The avocado spread was thick no skimping! And the bacon was nice and crisp but soft without the oiliness. The bread omg I could die for that bread- thick and soft. I also got the lavender latte with almond milk which I have to say I would drive back up from SF for. It was light with a hint of lavender, a milky nice and smooth flavor. My brother got the matcha latte which was also good as well. They didn't enjoy the burritos as they hoped it would be an unhealthy burrito. I frequent this place every time I'm in Truckee. Great coffee, some pretty decent pastries, and darn good gelato. It can be a little drafty but then again you're in the mountains, and the crisp mountain air is part of the reason you're up there.... The guys behind the bar are super friendly and will give you a brief synopsis of the coffee roasting and flavor development process if you ask. They're super into coffee, and it shows in the quality of the juice they're serving. Just watch out for the medio capp....it might as well be rocket fuel! read more
