Chicken Grilled Chicken and Asparagus Risotto
    Amie N.

this was 2yrs ago but worst $15 ever spent. the risotto was room temp and mushy. grilled chicken was flavorless and dry, only ended up taking two bites before stealing my friend's fries. it also came with a mini dollop of some hot sauce. presentation was bad. healthier entrees can be prepared well, but not here

New Yorker Sandwich, Cappuccino double espresso

I love this place! I've found it purely random but it turned out to be a very cozy spacious student place. On the one hand it is a coffee place with donuts and pastries, on the other hand you can get beer and really interesting variations of sandwiches (mine was called "New Yorker" and I had meatballs in it!) or even pasta. I've also noticed the covered piano, so probably they have some evening events from time to time. The place is located in the heart of Stanford community, so many people there were working, chatting and just enjoying. The ambience is another unique and cool thing here: pictures on the walls with the famous Stanford students, interesting tables. This place has its vibe! The staff is friendly and caring. You can get water, add milk to your drink or choose to-go option easily. They accept wireless transactions. There's a good coffee machine. The prices were reasonable. My large cappuccino was $4 + tax. I truly enjoyed my visit and would recommend this place for meetings, working, studying.

    Massive Mushroom Burger Sandwich

Stanford's very own cafe which is very popular with its students. Come here if you're in the area and want a place for a bite to eat and soak in some college atmosphere. They have nice loungey sofas and even a piano! You can also sit on the benches outside and the good thing is they serve in actual cutlery instead of plastic containers. They have an excellent collection of sandwiches, bagels, pastas, risottos and burgers. They also have coffee and tea and hot chocolate etc. I went during lunch time and wasn't sure if the meat was halal. So I ordered a vegan chilli with quinoa. It was really delicious and spicy ! It tasted like rajma chawal and the chilli had three different types of beans. The portion size was decent but the price was costly for 9$. The cheapest sandwich was around 8.50. I also had a small cappuccino which cost me around 4.50$ but was not very strong. For the price it should have been more robust. Service was friendly and quick. Update: the mushroom burger was not good, but the mushroom sandwich was tasty. Wish they gave fries on the side apart from the salad. The pasta with vegetables was kind of bland. The hot chocolate was that Swiss mix version. The raspberry and custard croissant was delicious.

I was in the area this past week to visit a new client in Palo Alto. Decided to park by Tressider and then wander around White Plaza (major construction going on...) and check in at the bookstore. Walked by the Coffee House and realized I needed something cold to drink with a caffeine kick for my upcoming client meeting. My medium iced Mexican mocha with oat milk was perfect, service was fast and friendly. Enjoyed briefly revisiting my memories of many late night study sessions in the Coffee House (and playing a very early version of Asteroids) when I was a student here in the mid-'70s. If you're looking for a tasty coffee on the Stanford campus, this is a great place to find it.

A refreshing Mango Lassi from Coffeehouse (CoHo Cafe)!!!

Coffeehouse is a cozy coffee shop in Tresidder Union, located in the heart of Stanford. They offer all sorts of unique foods from their menu, from meals to pastries to snacks to unique drinks. For example, I've gotten Mexican hot chocolate there, which is a hot chocolate that is semi sweet (less sweet than regular hot chocolate, and also has hints of cinnamon! I really enjoyed that - its great for warming you up in chillier weather. They also have mango lassis, and also saw that they had refreshers, which are perfect for the summer! The mango lassi was also perfectly made with its consistency and sweetness - just what I needed on a hot day!!! In addition to serving excellent food, Coffeehouse has attracted many students and passersby to make the shop their go to study and socializing spot! It has the perfect ambiance for working, and the decor is very unique and understandably Stanford-themed. For example, there are hand drawn pictures of famous Stanford alum on the walls. In addition, the people there are very warm and friendly. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking out Coffeehouse (CoHo Cafe)!!!

    A traditional coffee house.

It's hard to review a place that is a tradition. Our friend the long-time Stanford alumni got us coming here years ago and though there are other dining spots nearby, when we are here we stop at CoHo. It truly looks like a college hangout. We bike there and like to sit outside, very casual. They make tasty breakfast sandwiches and have a full range of baked goodies. I haven't had much else, but they offer smoothies and sandwiches too. Check it out to feel nostalgic for your college days!

Chai spice tea and salted chocolate chip cookie:) Really good cookie

Really solid spot! I was visiting the Stanford campus to speak on a panel and wanted to go to a spot where I could get some work done before heading to the airport. A friend suggested I come here. I had a chai spice tea with some cold soy and a salted chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was super duper delicious. All the pastries looked delicious! They had some cool ones like Japanese cheesecake and black sesame mochi cake. My only qualm about this place is the lack of accessible outlets, but oh well. Solid free campus wifi too for visitors :)

I kinda liked the dimly lit prior location. I also vaguely recall they had a toppings bar. This place does not. I'm guessing COVID and inflation eliminated it. The food was fine. I felt the patties seemed smaller but they still had a nice charred meaty flavor. The fries were okay. Crispy, seasoned and on the thick side. However, nothing that memorable. I ordered a banana milkshake which tasted mostly like the vanilla shake my daughter ordered. I think they put in a banana syrup instead of fresh bananas. Bottom line: will I go back? Yes, because even though I'm spoiled by some epic burger joints from my home town, this is still overall a positive experience and still better than the food at my in-laws.

We waited for nearly ten minutes and when I asked again if we could sit at one of the tables was almost rudely told no, they were busy. So we left and went to Joanie's on California Avenue. They were also busy but immediately seated us and we had a much better lunch. Sometimes it's good to change things up as we'd forgotten how kind and attentive all the of the staff are at Joanie's and how much better the food was. And both of our plates of food came out hot and perfectly cooked which doesn't always happen at the Creamery. I guess we just eat there for the memories. My husband said none of the staff at the Creamery seem happy except for the host so if we don't see him seating the guests, we'll just go to Joanie's.

The Garlic fries were topped with freshly chopped garlic tossed with parmesan cheese. But the thing that made this garlic stand out is that they didn't bother frying it up in oil. They left it raw which made the garlic super potent and strong. We loved it with their crisp on the outside soft on the inside fries. Can we also have a moment for the Oreo Milkshake? It was just the right amount of liquid--- not super dense that you needed to have an extra spoon on the side to eat it. It was sip- able from the beginning with lots of Oreos blended in. As for the burger, we had a Patty melt served on light rye bread with melted swiss cheese and grilled onions. The boyfriend wanted an extra patty but then regretted it after he said it really only needed one. Boys will be boys. While this was good, there was nothing that really made me pick this over the garlic fries. As for me: I had the Hamburger Bowl which was a Burger Patty over Spring Mix Greens Tossed in Lemon Vinaigrette with Carrots, Cucumbers, Tomato and Red Onion topped with Crispy Onion Strings. I appreciated the salad option and the lemon vinaigrette was just right- it didn't drown the salad in dressing like I've had happen in the past. The patty added in for protein was great and made this salad more of a treat than anything else. Add in the crispy onion rings and these gave it a nice crunch. I already mentioned the Oreo Milkshake and like the sweet lover I am, this just hit the spot.

The food comes out super fast, and all the employees are really nice. They also quickly clear your table when they notice empty trays. My only gripe is with parking, and it's a huge problem. The restaurant is somewhat in the middle of nowhere so understandably people have to drive to get there. We have eaten at here only 4 times despite coming here at least twice as often as that because we cannot find parking. There are times we've been able to get a table but simply cannot find a spot to park and then had to leave. When the weather is nice, there can be a long wait for a table, and we've also had to leave once because our kids were super young and didn't have the patience. Other than the bar, there's nowhere to go to wait. There are employees in the lot kinda guiding traffic, but the issue is it's really a matter of luck. Someone who showed up way after you may find a spot sooner than you, and it sucks. Sometimes it gets gridlocked too because some parts of the lot are narrow and you can't pass a car waiting for a spot, or a car isn't considerate in pulling over and letting others by. I would love to come here more regularly, but it's such a hassle. We try every couple of months ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
