Stopped here after a hike and it hit the spot. I got the spicy burger (the jalapeños were too much for me so I took them out too - the spicy sauce still gave it plenty of kick). Side salad was nothing special. My husband got the classic burger with two patties and was really happy with it. We also ordered mac and cheese for our daughter and ended up stealing bites off her plate - it was massive and genuinely hearty and good. The space was clean and welcoming, and it was the only place we didn't have to wait to be seated on a Sunday dinner. For fast food burgers these were pretty good. We came by at about 4:00. We got drinks but forgot to order fries. The orange soda had no flavor, the strawberry lemonade was pre-made in their refrigerated section with ice so a bit watery, and the root beer was the best out of them. Burgers were not dry. The Melt is my go-to spot whenever I get late-night munchies since they're open until 2 a.m.! This time, I ordered the patty melt with added mushrooms and raw onions, garlic parmesan fries, and the bacon mac and cheese. It is also crucial to get the Melt sauce, ranch, and BBQ sauce on the side. I've tried several items on the menu, but the patty melt is by far my favorite, even more than their burgers. The bread is toasted perfectly, and the well-seasoned beef pairs wonderfully with the melted cheese, mushrooms, and onions. Most meals also come with a pickle, which I always enjoy as a little palate cleanser between bites. The garlic parmesan fries were good, but I wish they used grated or powdered Parmesan instead of shredded so every bite had more cheesy flavor. The bacon mac and cheese wasn't anything extraordinary, but it definitely satisfied my craving. This location has self-service kiosks for ordering, and you can choose your own seat afterward. The service is efficient, and our food came out fairly quickly. There's plenty of indoor seating as well as a nice outdoor patio. When it was ready in that 15 minutes, I received a text and picked it up. I guess it was pretty busy in there, during the early afternoon on a weekend. Fries were hot and crispy. They had some parsley or something green sprinkled on it. Also noticed they didn't have any or very little salt on them. Portion-wise was decent for the cost also. The brownie was hot and melty too. I wish I had a cup of cold milk to go with it. But it was delicious. I wish it had a different texture, like chocolate chips or nuts or something. But I would get both of these again. read more

Spent a few days at Lucille Packard for my daughter's surgery and got pretty tired of cafeteria food. Heard from my cousin that this place was good, so I decided to place an order online. While ordering, I wasn't able to add the free fries, so I called in. The manager was super helpful and added them on the side. My husband picked up the DOUBLE MELTBURGER and fries for me. Both were very good, and the fries were actually still crunchy enough for Togo, which was a nice surprise. The burger itself was decent, but not my absolute favorite--maybe it needed a good sauce, since it didn't come with any. Stopped by this spot because it was one of the few open later in the area. We ordered a burger, the patty melt, and the garlic chicken bacon mac. The standout was definitely the patty melt. It had a great balance of caramelized onions, cheese, and beef without being too greasy. My husband enjoyed the burger as well. Nothing particularly unique, but solid and satisfying. The garlic chicken bacon mac was the weakest dish. I couldn't really taste any garlic, the chicken was on the dry side, and the bacon tasted a bit stale and lacked the crunch I was expecting. Loved our visit to The Melt in Sunnyvale! We ordered the garlic parmesan fries - super flavorful without being overpowering, especially great for someone who usually isn't a garlic fry fan! The spicy chicken sandwich was actually spicy (in the best way), and the avocado bacon melt was felt clean and light despite it being a grilled cheese sandwich! We ordered our food on the kiosk and the beeper will go off when our food is ready, it did take awhile to get our order, but I was too excited about my food that I did not care at the time. I was so excited to come here, as I usually always enjoy my food from here. I ordered their Three Cheese Classic with a Mini Mac. The grilled cheese was decent, but a bit disappointing, as I felt like I could only taste the cheddar cheese. The mac and cheese was overly disappointing - I could already tell it was different when I just looked at after receiving our order. They changed the cheese to some cheese that looks processed and runny, and it tastes like fake cheese mix like the Kraft ones. read more

Italian Job sandwich, plenty of grilled shrooms and cheese, pickle and side order of tomato soup. Delish! Spicy Mission Chicken sandwich, breast meat (lil dry) but still very tasty with added grilled onions, pickle and side of sweet potato fries. Yum! It's so easy to order! Order at the kiosk and ask a fountain drink cup from the staff. The staff is super friendly and nice. They have their own special kind of soda. The food is great here if you're craving a burger! And they have a great counter space that overlooks outside if you don't want a table or booth. The vibe inside is casual and a little dim, with a lot of younger adults hanging out. It was pretty busy considering how late it was, but Stanford Hospital is right next door so it made sense. We ended up getting the regular mac and cheese, the bacon mac and cheese, and two strawberry lemonades. The drinks are pre-made and you just grab them from the fridge. I felt like the lemonade was a little watered down and could have used more sweetness and flavor. The mac and cheese on the other hand was AMAZING. We ordered our burgers and fries online hours prior to our pickup time because of the Coldplay concert and we knew it would be busy. When we got there, it turns out either someone mistakenly took our food (or on purpose) or the staff just did not see the order. They had to retake our order and when I asked if they could just make it right away, they made us wait close to another hour. They ended up giving us some rice krispy treats on the house, but I'd rather have them remake our order right away instead of making us wait since we scheduled our order at 3PM to pick up at 10:45PM. I understand it can be overwhelming during events like this, but having at least one person watch over the pick-up counter would be beneficial to them and their customers so they don't have to spend time remaking an order when it disappears out of thin air and the customers don't have to wait when they scheduled an online order way ahead of the time. You've got to give a little credit for a space open til 3am - and this was my second time here. Judging by the backroom they look in the middle of a facelift and it was around 2am when I came in. The wait wasn't too bad and the guy at the desk had a good energy about him. A bunch of college aged patrons assuming after some partying on a Saturday night (Sunday 2am) The bathroom (which I have always been adding to my reviews now) we're not deplorable all things considered. My burger, however, was impossible to finish. Might be my advanced age (37) but I can usually murder all my food no problem and this KBBQ I think (BBQ for sure) was just doused in sauce and oily and drippy. Perhaps if I requested light sause or on the side I wouldve been fine. For context - I'll murder a larger mcds double quarter pounder deluxe with bacon Large and have room to spare. But the sauce and oiliness or perhaps the bacon killed me but if you're trying to keep from a hangover it might be what you need, albeit at a pretty penny. So... my daughter wanted to eat here today. It's been a really long time since we have visited this restaurant and we have been here enough times that I might as well give a review. She had the egg in the hole, which is her favorite here. It happens to be my favorite and is usually my go to sandwich whenever I eat here. It's just a grilled cheese with an egg inside it. So simple yet so good. This time I tried out the steak and cheese. It was good but kind of dry, added mayo to it to fix it and it was delicious. Also shared a side order of garlic fries. They were just okay, I've had better but they go good with the sandwiches here. Service here is fast and easy, just order from the kiosk and get a pager. There's a good amount of seating spread throughout the inside and outside. Double BBQ Bacon Meltburger (4/5): first off the burger was freaking massive. It was on the oily side though.
