    patty melt

The Melt is my go-to spot whenever I get late-night munchies since they're open until 2 a.m.! This time, I ordered the patty melt with added mushrooms and raw onions, garlic parmesan fries, and the bacon mac and cheese. It is also crucial to get the Melt sauce, ranch, and BBQ sauce on the side. I've tried several items on the menu, but the patty melt is by far my favorite, even more than their burgers. The bread is toasted perfectly, and the well-seasoned beef pairs wonderfully with the melted cheese, mushrooms, and onions. Most meals also come with a pickle, which I always enjoy as a little palate cleanser between bites. The garlic parmesan fries were good, but I wish they used grated or powdered Parmesan instead of shredded so every bite had more cheesy flavor. The bacon mac and cheese wasn't anything extraordinary, but it definitely satisfied my craving. This location has self-service kiosks for ordering, and you can choose your own seat afterward. The service is efficient, and our food came out fairly quickly. There's plenty of indoor seating as well as a nice outdoor patio. I highly recommend giving The Melt a try if you're craving a great burger or sandwich. It is a little on the pricey side, but the food has never disappointed me.

Ordered a quick bite while on my lunch break. Got the steak and cheese and a small side salad. Love the grilled cheese croutons on the salad. The steak and cheese was delicious, salad was fresh and good. 8/10

Spent a few days at Lucille Packard for my daughter's surgery and got pretty tired of cafeteria food. Heard from my cousin that this place was good, so I decided to place an order online. While ordering, I wasn't able to add the free fries, so I called in. The manager was super helpful and added them on the side. My husband picked up the DOUBLE MELTBURGER and fries for me. Both were very good, and the fries were actually still crunchy enough for Togo, which was a nice surprise. The burger itself was decent, but not my absolute favorite--maybe it needed a good sauce, since it didn't come with any. Overall, a solid option if you're looking for a break from hospital food.

I haven't even finished my meal and I'm already compelled to tell you, if you have the option to eat here, DO IT. There are literally no regretful options on this menu.... with nearly 100% customization, you simply can't go wrong. The only limit is your imagination! Came here with my fiancé for a late lunch and was immediately drawn to the delicious aroma of the freshly baked breads and mouthwatering soup. My honey opted for the BBQ bacon melt burger with sweet potato fries and I chose the tomato soup with the egg-in-hole melted classic--add avocado and substitute spicy garlic bread. Side note: if you are a pickle lover, rejoice! You get a pickle with your sandwich order and they are delightfully refreshing! When I say, this is the best sandwich-soup combo I've EVER had in my life, this is no joke. The Melt definitely packs in the flavor and emphasizes their quality of fresh ingredients with every dish they plate. Pictures and this review just don't do it justice. Service is excellent. Vibe is chill. 15/10 need to come back like, TOMORROW. I'm greatly looking forward to future flavor combinations here at The Melt!

Food was great. The garlic fries were garlicky and the burger was soft and tender. It came with a side of pickle, which was an entire log with a small slice cut out so that it could lay flat on the tray. The entire restaurant was self-serve: there were multiple payment kiosks and you had to grab your order off the waiter's table. Not the most luxurious environment but a good place to get a quick bite.

Stopped by this spot because it was one of the few open later in the area. We ordered a burger, the patty melt, and the garlic chicken bacon mac. The standout was definitely the patty melt. It had a great balance of caramelized onions, cheese, and beef without being too greasy. My husband enjoyed the burger as well. Nothing particularly unique, but solid and satisfying. The garlic chicken bacon mac was the weakest dish. I couldn't really taste any garlic, the chicken was on the dry side, and the bacon tasted a bit stale and lacked the crunch I was expecting. On the plus side, the location is convenient since it's inside the mall, and the interior is surprisingly spacious. Staff were fine and our food came out quickly.

Trying this place since I've been to the other melt franchise in SF. Now let's see if this place has the same taste as the Bay Area. Place is clean and neat since they just opened in the morning and my party and I are the first to come in. Service was friendly and nice. Now the food is something else. Check it out w/ my reviews.

Loved our visit to The Melt in Sunnyvale! We ordered the garlic parmesan fries - super flavorful without being overpowering, especially great for someone who usually isn't a garlic fry fan! The spicy chicken sandwich was actually spicy (in the best way), and the avocado bacon melt was felt clean and light despite it being a grilled cheese sandwich! Everything we tried hit the spot, and we'd definitely come back to order the same things again. There's so much to do in the area too! So it's nice to walk around after a delicious meal.

At first, I stopped by Melt just out of curiosity. One bite into the patty, and I was struck by a flavor so distinctive I thought: Could this actually be Wagyu in a burger? Sure enough, a quick search confirmed it--a Wagyu-Angus blend patty. What impressed me most is how Melt managed to take the refined aroma of Wagyu and elevate it to a new level. The richness of Wagyu, balanced with the structure of Angus, created a burger unlike any I've had before. The real surprise was the jalapeño heat in their Melt sauce. The way it plays against the Wagyu's natural umami is genius. Even in Tokyo, where Wagyu is everywhere, I've never seen it paired this way. It's bold, unconventional, and it works brilliantly. Add in sharp, punchy garlic-Parmesan fries and cane-sugar sodas that remind you what soda should taste like, and Melt becomes more than just another burger stop. Didn't expect it--ended up deeply impressed. Wagyu taken to another level. -- Dr. C Writing only for what truly earns the stars.

Came to Melt for a quick lunch when we were close to Stanford Shopping Center. We were all hungry and craving something savory. I think we found the right spot. Grilled sandwiches, burgers, soup and salad seemed to hit a chord with us while reading the menu. Melt, which is located right off the Sand Hill Road parking lot across the street from the Ronald McDonald House, very convenient but was hard to find a spot. We came right at lunchtime so other folks probably visiting for lunch as well. Plenty of seating and tables indoor and outdoor. Felt very festive given its the Thanksgiving weekend We ordered at the kiosk, grabbed the beeper and sat down. Food was ready in about 5-10 minutes? We ordered Double Swiss N Shroom, TWO 1/3 pound patties, crispy onions ranch sauce, a few leaves of spinach and a pickle. SOOO good and meaty. Italian Job sandwich, plenty of grilled shrooms and cheese, pickle and side order of tomato soup. Delish! Spicy Mission Chicken sandwich, breast meat (lil dry) but still very tasty with added grilled onions, pickle and side of sweet potato fries. Yum! Rounded out the meal with a Chopped Comb salad to fight the evil calories! Great meal Update 12/9/2025 got an odd reply from Melt apologizing for bad experience? I gave them 5 stars and only commented slight negative about shopping center parking not the restaurant. Hope it wasn't an auto generated reply?

It's so easy to order! Order at the kiosk and ask a fountain drink cup from the staff. The staff is super friendly and nice. They have their own special kind of soda. The food is great here if you're craving a burger! And they have a great counter space that overlooks outside if you don't want a table or booth. You can also order ahead of time for pick up.

The space is sleek, modern, and light-filled, making it a perfect spot to gather with friends for lunch or evening drinks and bites. Here is a breakdown of what we tried: Deviled Eggs: A must-order appetizer! Topped with tobiko/caviar, crispy shallots, and chives, they are incredibly creamy with a nice pop of texture and savoriness. Korean Fried Chicken Wings: Crispy, perfectly glazed in a sweet-and-spicy sauce, and topped with sesame seeds. Served with a cool dipping sauce that balances out the heat wonderfully. Tacos (Carnitas & Shrimp): Both taco options were served on warm, fresh corn tortillas topped with pickled red onions, cilantro, and served with a side of slaw and spicy salsa. High quality and super flavorful. Roasted Cauliflower: A gorgeous mixture of purple and white cauliflower tossed with a rich green pesto and drizzle of spicy red pepper sauce. A phenomenal vegetable side with a great kick. French Fries: Golden, crispy, well-seasoned, and served in a massive bowl--perfect for sharing across the entire table. Overall: Excellent presentation, generous portions for small plates, and a super welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're stopping by for creative craft cocktails or grabbing a bite with a group near campus, Horsefeather delivers. Highly recommended!

Owned by a winner of a reality cooking competition, it makes sense why it is priced at a premium, and with that follows pleasantly attentive service, innovative dishes, and comfy seating. I found the food to be generally pleasant, and the only thing that is unpleasant is their proximity to the train station that interrupts conversation on an intervalized basis. Roti Mataba - Intriguing dish as I've never seen roti used to encapsulate before, but its smart as it creates a flaky exterior that pairs incredibly well with the curry sauce. It feels like a complete, well-rounded meal rather than the sad, sparse bentos you sometimes end up with.
