This isn't a full Konjoe so it doesn't have the 1/3 pound burgers, but instead focuses on 1/4 pound smash burgers. They also don't have the fried egg, bacon, or white cheddar from the other locations. The basic smash is a solid burger on a really good potato bun. Personally I'm a fan of the truffle smash with grilled onions and black truffle mayo -- I ask them to add tomatoes. The grilled cheese is a bit boring, probably because it's on the kids menu. Next time I'll ask them to add tomatoes and maybe the truffle mayo. The truffle fries are hot and nicely seasoned and topped with parmesan and parsley. They charge extra for the dipping sauces -- but the truffle mayo on truffle fries is worth it. You order at a kiosk which is easy to operate but I had a coupon and couldn't figure that out. The friendly staff was happy to help. My only complaint: for some reason it took a very long time for our food to come out and they didn't seem that busy. read more

Finally had a chance to try this burger place in a food mall in Los Altos. We ordered the signature Konjoe burger and the hot chicken burger. The konjoe burger was delicious with grilled onions , red slight spicy peppers and an over easy egg on top. It's too messy to hold so I ate it with a knife and fork. My fiancee ordered the spicy chicken burger. Chicken was nice a crispy, plenty of spice, lots of pickles, and the potato bun was toasted but soft and tasty. Love their basic burger. Two smash burger Pattie's and whatever else you want on it. I had the Konjoe burger this time, which was a thick patty with a bunch of toppings and sauce. It also had an egg on top - pretty great if you're into runny yolks. IMHO, the regular smash burger patties were better than the thick Konjoe burger. The thick burger didn't have that extra texture that the regular thin patties, so if you're into that maillard reaction just get the regular burger and throw on their yummy toppings. Konjoe has been my goto place for Smashburger for several years. However, the last 2 times have been greatly disappointing. Now I have to look for a new place. The issue is that what makes Smashburgers so good is being crispy on the outside especially the edge while being somewhat juicy on the inside. Not sure why I keep giving this place more chances. We used State Street for our child's birthday a year ago (February 2025) and they catered our event. All we ordered were chicken sliders at the time and they didn't deliver and have their food ready on the agreed time when we made the reservation. When I went to pick up, they had no idea what I was talking about... Owners also own the Miko's Calitalia next to it. Or maybe when it was Bibo's Pizza and Pasta. That will be it's own review. Fast forward July 2025, ordered ahead of time dine-in. Took forever for one basic burger, chopped fries, and a seasoned fries. When I went to pick up my food, food was missing and had to go back to tell the guy. The dude told me he needed to see all my bags. Noticed they were missing part of my order and made it on the fly. So waited again. Used a gift card they offered from my child's birthday (that I no longer can use because their PoS system changed and nothing they could do about it). Fast forward to today March 2026. Ordered two smashburgers, one kids burger, and one grilled cheese. The two smashburgers' sauces made it super messy. The nontoasted bread made everything underwhelming. Bland for things oversauced. Just bad experiences on three separate occasions. Not sure I would give them any more chances and I hope you all don't either. Simply do not care or are not organized enough to care for their customers. Overpriced "smash" burgers trying to infuse Korean flavors and inconsistent chicken cook temperatures for terrible experiences. Being a spicy fried chicken fan, I was all over Konjoe! Truffle Hot Chicken Sandwich replace with lettuce wrap $19.50 -- double fried chicken, not that spicy. A good amount of truffle and I really liked the pickled cabbage. But it wasn't amazing and I've definitely had better. Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich $14.50 -- again with the double fried chicken, very similar to the hot truffle. I doubt they marinate their chicken overnight because the flavor just wasn't there. Mochiko Chicken $14 -- here's where things went wrong. Originally we said mochiko chicken but then we corrected the order and said no mochiko chicken and we wanted fries instead. The guy was distracted because his coworker was talking to him for a second. He didn't double our order and we assumed he got it. Then once we got our order, we see we got mochiko chicken and no fries. The guy said that's what we ordered. I wasn't going to make a big fuss about it but I think it's always best practice for the person taking the order to REPEAT the order just to double check that everything is right. In any case, the mochiko chicken is basically like a cross between popcorn chicken and chicken tenders. It came with spicy mayo. Again double fried with a lot of batter. The chicken itself wasn't all that flavorful or juicy. Overall I would give this 2 out of 5, as I expected more judging from other reviews. Warning: Discrepancy between whats on the menu and what you get. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The worker graciously put the order in and my buzzer called me up in about 10 minutes. To my surprise, the tray handed to me only contained fried chicken pieces, not a sandwich. I assumed it was a mistake and clarified with the worker that I ordered the fried chicken SANDWICH. The worker told me their menu was wrong and they didn't actually have the sandwich option available anymore. So imagine ordering something that is supposed to have fried chicken, potato rolls, slaw, and pickles and you end up with only the chicken, nothing else. The worker responded in a matter-of-fact way that the menu is incorrect but when I was ordering, he never bothered to point out this discrepancy. There was also no offer to credit back my order or offer an alternative. Overall, I felt this was false advertising and would hesitate to come back again to try anything else. It's also crazy to me how the staff chose to handle this, brushing it off as if it wasn't a problem and something the customer is expected to just deal with. If you love smashburgers like I do, Konjoe Burger is worth a stop! I was in the area for a meeting, and since I'm on a mission to try every smashburger in the world, I saw it on the menu and knew I had to get it. For $12, the OG smashburger is a double patty burger with their OG sauce, grilled onions, cheese, pickles, on a potato roll (the only roll that makes a smashburger a smashburger). All the flavors were on point and it was definitely one of those burgers that i'd never be mad at eating, and would crave all the time. They do a basic smash with lettuce and tomato for $12.5, but the OG is the way to go, ditch the veggies lol You can make it a combo with seasoned fries for an additional $2, so for the meal you are looking at around $15 for a delicious smashburger and fries, great for a 'budget meal'. Definitely would return. I came during weekday lunch hour and my order took under 10 minutes to complete. But they reopened, as one of the new vendors at State Street Market (food hall) and they also have a ghost kitchen location in SJ. I checked in with the staff multiple times but was told they were backlogged. But still, (1) the workers shouldn't have told me that I'd get a notice on my phone when my order was ready because I never did so I think their info was wrong and (2) Konjoe is always reliably slow even when we are their only customer on a slow day.
