    a cake in a box

We ordered an ice cream cake from this location for my sister's confirmation (religious event) and were greatly disappointed with the way the cake turned out. The lettering looks like it was done by a toddler in the early stages of their writing development. The name isn't even straight, its sloping down as if it was tumbling as low as this review. The attention to detail, or lack there of, is almost nonexistent. You can see streaks of caramel randomly on top of the cake which just shows how sloppy of a job they did. This was a very important moment for my sister and it was incredibly heartbreaking to see the look on her face go from excitement to disappointment. If i could give 0 stars i would.

Note: their freezers may not be working that well? (see picture) Came in because I was super craving ice cream, and proceeded to order. The ice cream looked really soft already in the display, so I was unsure how it was gonna turn out. Well....it turned out like a soup instead of an ice cream. I had to drink that thing down as fast as I could, but I honestly just threw away the rest. It wasn't worth it, and I probably wouldn't come back again.

    Locked door

They lock the doors an hour before the posted closing time on the door and online so come early if you want ice cream...trash

    Strawberry passion ice cream cake

I can't believe there's no cold stone at Knoxville or Nashville so my friend went here to fulfill our craving for the Strawberry passion ice cream cake. If you place an order for a Large rectangle, you have to pay in advance. We were tempted but ended up getting the largest option in store and feasted. It's been many many years since we both had it and it brought back high school memories. I remember the first time I discovered it. This was the sh&%! I would find every possible occasion to order this and binge.

Those mix-ins are SO good. Friendly service and attentive staff is the cherry on top! (Pun intended)

Absolutely delicious! Good size portions. I'm not an ice cream lover like my husband, but this place will get my business again!

Super yummy panini sandwiches. Didn't have time for a nice cream, but we drooled near the freezer case. :)

Good ice cream & a pleasant staff. Gotten to where I sort of prefer Sweet Frog to ice cream but this place isn't bad...

We started with the fried green tomatoes -- and I can confidently say they were the best I've ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and served over the most delicious, creamy grits that I'm still thinking about. That combination alone is worth the visit. For my entrée, I went with the fried chicken, paired with mac and cheese and bacon green beans. The chicken was golden, crispy, and juicy with so much flavor in every bite. The mac and cheese was rich and comforting, and the bacon green beans added the perfect savory balance to the plate. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and full of that true Southern flavor you hope for when dining in Asheville. Generous portions, bold flavors, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I would absolutely come back again -- and honestly, I'm already looking forward to ordering those fried green tomatoes again.

Puppy-Approved Pit Stop…read more A quick trip to the Asheville area to grab some equipment turned into a brunch stop on the way home! With our pup in tow, we needed somewhere dog-friendly with outdoor seating -- and this place delivered. It was raining when we pulled up, but the patio was well-covered with plenty of seating. Staff even moved our table to keep us clear of the weather and made sure our seats were fully dried off before we sat down -- small touch, big impression. Our hostess greeted us with menus -- including a menu for the pup! Absolutely adorable, and such a nice touch that they cater to the four-legged family members too. Our waitress was just as sweet, friendly and on top of everything throughout the meal. We kicked things off with a "Make It Spicy" Mary and an IPA. Fried green tomatoes are a must-order for me wherever I go, and this version -- panko-crusted, served over creamy stone-ground goat cheese grits with red pepper coulis and fresh basil -- lived up to every word of that description. Crispy, creamy, with a nice pop of flavor: proper Southern cooking. For mains, I went with the sweet & spicy fried chicken & waffles -- hand-breaded crispy tenders drizzled with sriracha honey over golden buttermilk waffles -- and it did not disappoint. Sweet, savory, perfectly crisp, with waffles that were light and fluffy with a gorgeous golden crust. I cleared my plate. My partner, on the other hand, wasn't a fan of his bourbon peppercorn glazed meatloaf (a scratch-made beef and chorizo blend) -- so much so that he left most of it and said flatly, "It's gross, I'd never order that again." The mashed potatoes, at least, were a hit. A little bittersweet for me, since I loved everything on my plate and wished he'd had the same experience. So we'd come back, he'd just order something else next time!

My favorite parts are the aisle full of alllllll the sauces, and the wide selection of drinks ranging from canned boba to bottles of ramune soda. I was happy to finally find some hot sesame oil here in Asheville. The only downside is that it doesn't have the large selection of fresh meat and produce like other large Asian supermarkets I am used to back in larger cities. I'll definitely be back when I need some more Asian food items.

The stores isn't large, but it's pretty well stocked. I have been to the larger Asian market, YZ, and I think Lee's Asian Market has a smaller overall stock of things, but what it does have, you'll get several brands. For example, I needed Pandan extract. At YZ, I could only find the McKormick's Buco Pandan flavoring. At Lee's there were 3 brands of Pandan flavoring, including the Pandan flavored paste I was looking for, which is also sold by Amazon for about $6, at Lee's it was only $1.50 or so. The owner, a nice Chinese woman speaks English pretty well and is very friendly. That's somewhat rare in Asian markets. She walked me over to the steamer area and gave me some advice on using the bamboo cone, which is what I ended up buying. She also helped me find the frozen Pandan leafs. She is super sweet and nice, which I appreciated. I also found some fresh sticky rice and sweet banana cakes near the register. They had two square Banh Tet (Vietnamese new year cakes with mung bean and pork) as well. I haven't seen fresh cakes like that at the other Asian stores, so Lee's gets bonus points for this!
