$12.51 for two small ice cream cups. You've got to be kidding me. Aside from the price, the ice cream is just okay. It's very thick and I end up downing a water bottle each time. But what makes this place the worst is the customer service. I've been here maybe a dozen times and each time, my date and I were ignored. They seem to have 2 people on and 1 is cleaning/walking around while the other is making the ice cream and ringing up the customers. However even when it is our turn, we are not greeted. No smiles. No "hi how are you". No "you're welcome". No "have a nice day". Like brick walls with ice cream scrapers. The 2 stars are for the location and...well I guess that's it. read more

Very delicious ice cream. I always get the chocolate devotion with a waffle bowl and it's delicious. The strawberry blond is also very yummy which is my moms fav. Came here tonight (in Chapel View) to bring my fiancé for his first experience. Walked in about quarter to 9. There were 2 other parties sitting and eating and another in front of us ordering their ice cream. The girl currently working (very short bleach blonde curly sue curls) yelled "YO" which finished in another girl with black glasses coming out of the back room to help us (Strike One). Once it was our turn, my fiancé went first. He ordered the batter batter that had Oreos and cookie dough. I watched the girl start making it, she added the Oreo and cookie dough slab. She cut each one in half ONE TIME did one flip with her spatulas and then put the ice cream in a waffle bowl (Strike Two). I then ordered the birthday cake remix for myself. I watched her add the jimmies, the chocolate and brownie. I then watched her cut my brownie in half once (once again), do one flip of her paddles and put my ice cream in a waffle bowl (Strike Three). I tried to explain to my fiancé that this wasn't the normal way of doing things. Usually they mix it all so every bite comes with some of every ingredient. Clearly this girl was just trying to hurry up so she could lock the door. At the register, it came to $17 and change, for two small ice creams and 2 waffle bowls. she handed me a credit receipt and asked me to sign. Not only wasn't there a line to sign, but it clearly stated : NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED. I said this to her and her response was, yes I know just sign it. My manager wants every receipt signed. We sat down to start eating our ice cream (That sees odd). One bite into the waffle bowls showed that not only did they seem to be 3 or more days old, but they were burnt to a crisp( Strike Four! You'd think this would've been their last). We needed a chisel to break these things, no lie. About 3 minutes into eating, the other parties had left. The girls came out from the back immediately and start packing up their supplies. We watched them shove each pan of ice cream on top of the other. About 6-8 pans high of pan inside of pan with the bottom of the pans hitting the ice cream underneath (disgusting and unsanitary, to say the least). Another minute or so goes by and the girl with the bleach blonde curls comes out of the back and says "He guys, we are closed and I need my draw in by 9:15. I don't know what time it is but you need to be out of here by then" (Strike Five). I looked at my watch, it was 9:06 then looked at my receipt that said her name was Lia. This was ridiculously rude. We were paying customers enjoying our ice cream and she was kicking us out. Very unprofessional. We then told them how stale the waffle bowls were and in more bullshit words then explained, she basically said: well I heard they WAS made today so they can't really be stale! - The fact that I almost broke a tooth eating it is telling me : they WERE NOT made today. Not only did her improper English bother me, the fact that she tried telling paying customers that even though they're teeth hurt from biting the waffle bowls, they have no clue what they're talking about, that's what irritated me the most. They were in such a rush to do their side work and get out of there that they made a first experience for someone, definitely a last experience. at least for this location. I'm so disappointed at one of the staff that work at this location. I've thought that this is a great ice cream shop because I called last minute to place an ice cream cake order which I'm so glad that they took the order and made the cake for me in such a short time. As the staff on the phone was very polite and nice, she've told me that They open at 12 but they will notice the staff who should arrive by 1130 that I'll pick it up as soon as they open. So I went there at around 1120 and I saw a woman with glasses and wearing a cold stone Creamery shops tshirt, so I went up to her and tell her about the situation. She wasn't being polite and all and when I said I'm suppose to pick it up right when you're open all she said was you mean 12 and shake her head as if I'm crazy (maybe because I'm Asian?). So I told her how the other staff told me that I can pick it up at 1130 and she just walked away with a inpatient face without a word. I waited at the door to see where she went and she came with just the cake, gave it to me and walked away. So I stopped her and ask for a bag cuz it is an ice cream cake. I don't want the heat to melt it. And she went in and took a bag for me without saying a word. I'm so disappointed with how I was treated with her bad attitude. I have to say I'm VERY impressed with the customer service at Cold Stone. I'm a college student in Providence and was supposed to go home for my birthday, but because I couldn't make it, my parents decided to order me a cake from Cold Stone (which they know I love). Unfortunately, the one nearest me was a 20 minute drive away in Cranston and since I don't have access to a car and taking the bus would take over an hour, my parents and I both decided it'd be too much trouble to pick up and that it'd be fine to just cancel the order. As soon as Mr. Mehrotra, the store owner, heard the reason for the cancellation, he offered to deliver the cake himself to my dorm, though Cold Stone does not normally do deliveries and he drove all the way over from Cranston in the rain to deliver my cake to me at no extra cost. He would not even accept a tip for driving all the way over. I got all my friends together later to share the cake and everyone LOVED IT. Definitely going to stop by the next chance I get to go to Cranston. read more

The customer service here is HORRIBLE. I cannot believe corporate allows this location to operate. Today is Saturday and I went to another location just this past Thursday. I got the SAME EXACT THING today that I got Thursday and Deborah, I think her name was, said she couldn't do it. I told her that of course she could because that's my favorite thing, I get it every time I go to Coldstone, on top of that I had gotten it just two days prior. Then she said, "Well I'll have to charge you for two separate orders." I was in front of family so whatever I'm not gonna argue, plus my card is platinum don't act like I'm broke because of what I'm wearing honey. Anyways, for THREE people it somehow cost $30. I couldn't believe it.... How do three smalls add up to $30? The mixing counter was DISGUSTING. I couldn't believe it. She was dropping ingredients all over, not wiping it. Then she halfway mixed it. So I did NOT give her a tip. The young man in there mixing someone else's order mixed it the way Coldstone is supposed to mix it. He went on to help the person behind us. Well, this is hilarious, someone comes behind my group wanting almost the exact same thing I got, and Deborah said she could only do it all mixed together, not separate the way the customer wanted it. So, basically you made mine separate, charged me for two, realized you were wrong, then said you could do it for the next customer but not the way we wanted it. I ended up speaking to the customer and she told me she comes to that location often and gets that same thing, with no issue. As a matter of fact, the younger gentleman that made it had no issue doing it, then Deborah made an issue. I saw the phone number to call, and I'll be calling the next business day. Young male employee mumbled responses to two questions we had about ordering since it was our first time. Couldn't have rushed through making our order more (no line behind us). Then grabbed our waffle cone bowls with bare hands (no gloves) and proceeded to ring us out. Both our ice creams were extremely soupy and were dripping out of the cone as we were waking out (probably due to lack of time on the COLD STONE). Couldn't eat the waffle bowls because he touched it with his grubby hands. I would sooner throw the couple dollar tip I would have given in the trash bin outside than give it to this mess of an employee. Won't be back anytime soon. I thought I would treat my grandson to ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery this afternoon. He needed to use the rest room. The sign on it said "closed-out of order- no hand soap" Most little food stores don't usually have a separate bathroom for employees, so I hope they washed their hands in the kitchen. The door was open and he used the toilet--no problem. I had Purell so that took care of cleaning hands. Two men were still waiting when we came out. Had a nice LONG conversation before they were finally waited on. And then we waited and waited and waited. I assume it was the owner who walked by twice never acknowledging us or saying someone would be with us shortly, or sorry for the wait--NOTHING---not a word. Then his wife walked by me twice, smiled at me the first time but said nothing. I finally walked out and told the poor girl at the register who was obviously new, exactly what I thought. Very terrible experience at coldstone this past friday. This one worker with short curly blonde hair was very rude to customers, and the girls she was working with. She was screaming at the girls who were mixing other people's orders telling them they aren't doing their jobs when I noticed that they were helping more people than she was. I felt terrible for them. My husband and I watched her help another customer and she was once again rude to them. THIS POST IS A CALL TO ACTION FOR ANYONE WITH ANY HUMAN DECENCY TO BOYCOTT THIS PARTICULAR COLDSTONE!!! My wife, daughter and I visited this COLD STONE on 12/15/12 at approximately 2 pm. The owner was ignoring us at the counter and was completely degrading the young girl working the counter. Right in front of the customers, he was ripping into this poor young lady. He told her that she was a complete waste of his time. He was yelling at her saying that she obviously couldn't understand simple English among many other demeaning insults to her... I was mortified at what I was witnessing. I Asked him if he was the manager. He said that he was the owner. I Asked his name. He answered My Name was Mahn ( I'm sure i spelled it incorrectly). I then told him that I had been in the foodservice industry for many years, i explained that i had been a corporate executive chef overseeing hundreds of employees and I was appalled by how he had been speaking to her, especially how he was reprimanding his employees in front of the customers. He told me that "sometimes you need to speak to them like that to get them to work correctly". This is when I gave him a serious piece of my mind and let him know that I would make certain that this story got out and went straight to the corporate website. The powers that be in that company needs to be aware how this pig treats his employees. This poor young girl was shaking, crying and obviously petrified of him and then was trying to hold it together to wait on us. My wife gave her a large tip and let her know that there are far better jobs out there and she deserves to work somewhere where she will be treated with respect. Awful service and very unprofessional establishment. I ordered an ice cream cake to bring to a relative's house on Christmas Eve. I had gone to the location beforehand and ordered the cake, paid cash for it, stated I would pick it up at 4:30pm and I also asked for a receipt. Well, at about 4:30pm on Christmas Eve I walked in to pick up the cake and stated it is under the name of Deborah for a Peanut Butter Silk Cake. The employee came back and asked me again what name it is under and I stated Deborah or Debbie and I also stated my name is Deborah Dimeo and I gave her the receipt in which I was told I did not need. When the employee came back a second time she stated that another Deborah had placed an order for a different cake for the same day for pickup and then she also stated someone picked up my cake earlier. She asked if I had someone come earlier to pick up the cake. I told her I did not and I am here now to pick up my cake, as I stated when I ordered it. She went in the back room again to call the owner and when she came back again she stated since a woman that came earlier stated her name was Deborah Dimeo and picked up the cake and signed for it, she cannot do anything for me and she was the employee that waited on that woman. In the meantime, I saw the paper order form that was made out when I ordered it and noticed it just stated Deborah not my last name on it. I told her I am not leaving without a cake, as I did not have someone pick it up earlier and I can show her my license to prove it is me. She did not want it. I asked to see the signature and she would not show it to me. My husband came in due to being in the store for such a long time and I told him what the problem was and he stated to the employee "you mean to tell me another Deborah Dimeo by the same name came in to pick up the same cake on the same day, what a coincidence" The employee stated do not get mad at me as it is not my fault. The employee asked my husband if he wanted to speak with the owner, she called him and handed him the phone. The only conversation the owner had with my husband was extreme profanity and if he was not out of the store in ten minutes he was calling the police. My husband stated his rant was uncalled for and we will take this up with the Corporate Office and the owner was using extreme profanity again and told him for a second time if he does not leave the store in ten minutes he is calling the police. My husband gave the phone back to the employee and we left. It is obvious that a mistake was made by the employee and I was not even offered another cake or a refund for the trouble. We were treated as if we did something wrong. We have never been so humiliated. I did not even have anything to bring to my relative's house. I am in the process of dealing with the Corporate Office, the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Office regarding this awful experience. read more
