Cold Stone is the best ice cream ever, but this location was exceptionally accommodating to our group. We have a severe peanut/tree nut allergy and they were extra careful to use a separate, sanitized surface with fresh ice cream and ingredients from the back that hadn't been touched by the paddles. They also looked up a retired Signature Creation and made it for me to the best of their ability with the ingredients they had available. The manager was very friendly. The best service possible, ordered through Grubhub for the first time ( horrible service on grub hubs side- driver was late , ice cream melted - NOT Coldstones fault at all ) I called the location and spoke with the manager/owner John not only did he remake the ice cream due to the inconvenience he upgraded my size. While waiting for the Grubhub delivery guy to pick up my order an hour went by and needless to say John went the extra mile and brought my order to me since it had been a hour and no grub hub delivery driver showed up to pick the order . I wish all businesses would take a page out of his customer service book. I was having a horrible night and thank you to John and his team for simply just going the extra mile even through the pandemic. I will absolutely be returning to this location. Just picked up the skinny Vanilla with Kit Kat and Oreos. The worst Cold Stone experience ever. The gentleman that tended to me was cool but the quality of the ice cream was horrible. I threw it away after 3 bites..would've went back to complain but I was already on my way home. The ice cream must've been old because it tasted like freezer ice...the add-one didn't really taste so fresh as well. I threw away 5$+. Don't think I'm going to a Cold Stone anytime soon. read more

Ordered from here on uber eats. My order arrived missing half the order. Called coldstone and they said there was nothing they could do because the driver was already gone. Placed a second order to get the correct items; again, the delivery was wrong. I called again and they said they found my order still sitting in the shop. It seems they weren't paying any attention while packaging the items and handing them off to the uber drivers. I asked how they could help me with the situation and they said, "I don't know what you want me to do about it." I asked for a refund and they said I could call uber eats customer service...even though the issue seemed to be on the coldstone side. read more

2 stars is being nice. Their was a mess everywhere. No one was wearing gloves and one of the employees fake nails kept digging into the ice cream everytime she would scoop ice cream. Melted ice cream everywhere. Candy all over the counters. No social distancing. No customers wearing masks. This place SUCKS. The ice cream is definitely good but the idiots working there make me never want to return. First of all I ordered the Funnel cake and asked for the old fashioned ice cream on top. They messed up the order not ONCE but TWICE. Then when I get to the register the girl tells me that my total is $14.69. Are you serious?? She proceeds to tell me that she has to charge me for the funnel cake order AND the ice cream order because I can't have anything but French Vanilla ice cream on it to not be charged extra. OK so normally i am a big fan of all things ice cream, even in the dead of winter. However the experience at this coldstone was not great. This is not a good coldstone to go to and linger while you eat your ice cream -there was limited seating, only two small tables and my 2 friends and i had to wait for a 3rd chair before sitting down. Also they were out of my favorite mixin - gummybears. Called because the website says they open at 12, but I walk by a lot and thought the door said 2. The phone was temporarily disconnected. Not good. Went in and tried to use my birthday buy 1, 1 free coupon and pay with a gift card. No, the gift card terminal is down. Ordered a birthday cake was told I could not have ganache on top of my cake. I said the website has a make your own cake option. Not at this store. I chose a regular cake and had to prepay and was given no receipt until I said I wasn't leaving without something to prove I paid. I was given a meaningless cash register receipt with no details on it. Showed up to pick up my cake. Not open at 2, waited until 2:30 still no signs of life. It's my birthday and there's NO cake. Came the next day and they were open. he pulls a cake out of the display open to any customer. My name wasn't on it (in case they actually got any other customers) and didn't even offer to put it in a bag. No apology for blowing my birthday pick up. Contacted the regional rep and he apologized and said the manager would be contacting. Two days later....nothing. Will not be visiting this store ever again. read more

If you love Cold stone than this is the last location you want to visit. The day staff is rude and unprofessional. Everytime you call during business hours they never answer. So many times I went to this location during business hours posted and they weren't even open. The last time me and my friend went it said it will open at 2 pm and it was 1:50 so we decided to wait for ten minutes. We didn't see any lights inside so I already didn't have a food feeling about it. It's 2:10 and we finally see employees walk in. So we waited extra five mins before we went in and when we got in the employees had looks on their face which clearly read, "uuuuuuhhhhhhhhh.... Wtheck are you doing here?" They also told us it will take 30+ Mins to get everything setup. I was like this is ridiculous. If you are suppose to be open at 2 why are employees walking in at 2:10?? How come no one ever answers the phone when called for delivery? How come even if you manage to get some ice cream they are always out of toppings and give us only 1/4 cup is always empty? I mean I have been to so many locations of Cold stone in IL and many other states but this is the only location that's this bad. On top of it you never get a simple sorry from them. With all the negatives I do want to say there is one employee whom eveeytime I encountered was nice. I wonder what's wrong with the other employees. A big disappointment The place is rather dingy...floors haven't been cleaned very well in a long time and there's numerous loose tiles. When we arrived, there were 4 employees, two people being trained and two people training. We waited several minutes before we were even acknowledged. Finally, one of them interrupted the training and waited us and then they went back to training mode, leaving me to wait by the cash register to pay while my ice cream was melting (it was already rather melted as soon as it was served to me). Then, he waited on another customer, making me wait even longer. Long story short, this place is poorly run, the employees don't seem to care much about anything, and the ice cream is subpar...and not worth a return visit. read more

My friend and I dropped by for a quick afternoon snack yesterday. She ordered the signature ice cream mix that was sweet cream ice cream with strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries mixed in. The girl working the counter said they were out of blueberries, which was kind of a bummer... it wasn't that late in the day to excuse being out of a topping. However my friend did really enjoy her ice cream. I'm not a huge fan of Cold Stone, but it's a good place to stop by if you have an ice cream craving and some extra money in your pocket, because it is most definitely not the cheapest ice cream place around. read more

Meaning, I've been here for the previous owner and let me tell you, this new guy is the truth. He's really took the place from 0-100. I ordered a cake for my wife's birthday. Went to pick it up on Saturday night for a brunch party the next day. When I arrived, John (I believe he's a manager) couldn't find the cake. He found my online order from the day before but no one actually made the cake that day. Needless to say I wasn't happy, but John quickly looked to resolve the problem. Understanding I didn't need the cake until 11am (they don't open until 11am), he told me he'd be in early the next morning to make the cake and would then deliver it to my house. Mistakes happen, but when people own up and provide a solution and ultimately provide a great tasting cake, that's great service! Where to begin: Terrible service, no air conditioning (it was very warm in this joint), they didnt have any of the smoothie drinks on the menu & the worker behind the counter had no idea when they would be carrying the drinks or if they were going to carry drinks at all...lol...so i order some ice cream & it tasted like it had been melted & then refrozen....me & friend walked out of this dump took some licks of our ice cream & threw them in the nearest garbage can...we then walked over to Red Mango & had some delicious yummy yogurt....Why is this Cold Stone creamery in Evanston still open? First time HAVING to write a review. First time my girlfriend and I "went" there (around 4:30 PM): We ordered two Love its for delivery, one with chocolate and brownies, the other (since they were out of coffee and mocha) was french vanilla with chocolate syrup, strawberries, and raspberries. We were told that it would be delivered in 25 minutes. 45 minutes later we called and were told that the store couldn't get ahold of the delivery driver. Meaning they weren't planning on calling us and letting us know that it wasn't going to be delivered. While talking to the employee, I asked why they didn't call. He responded saying that he did call the delivery driver and that the driver was not picking up the phone. The thought of calling us to let us know we weren't going to get ice cream anytime soon had never crossed his mind. We ended up driving over and picking it up, after our order had been sitting in the freezer the whole time. Mine turned out fine... Girlfriend's turned out not having strawberries (even though he repeated the order back to me when I told him what we wanted) and was smashed into a love it cup. Second time (since we now know not to order delivery): Went okay. No complaints. So maybe we just got a bad employee the first time... Third time: Walk in around 8:00 PM. Girlfriend orders strawberry sherbert with raspberries mixed in and I order chocolate truffle with chocolate syrup and brownies (yes, I like chocolate). I noticed when she was making my order that the ice cream looked pretty soft, but I assumed since it was the last bit of chocolate truffle that it had melted a bit. We picked up some almond Sweet Cream Bars before checking out. After we got back I opened the box of Cream bars to find that they had all melted and turned into a disgusting slop at the bottom of each package, then they had partially refrozen once the layers had separated. So, I'm guessing something happened where they either lost power or some employee made an error, but either way I was eating a syrup within 5 minutes of walking out of the store and the Cream Bars were inedible. Also, the employee had to have known something with the refrigeration had screwed up while working that day and we weren't warned. Last time going here. 2/3 times they were awful means a 67% chance of having a bad time. read more

In the past year or so 4 locations around my house closed and the only one left is Evanston. Walked in there last night to get some yummy goodness and all their ice cream was halfway melted and the front door wide open. It's 80+ degrees outside, wouldn't you think to close the door to keep the cool in??? I guess not... We ended up leaving and going around the corner for some B&J. If Cold Stone decides to change some things up I will be coming back but otherwise sorry guys i think i have to skip ya from now on :'( read more

Terrific Customer Service! We placed an online order last night for delivery today. The delivery arrived a little before the requested time which worked out well. Unfortunately, part of the order was accidentally missed. Life is hectic and things happen sometimes. I called the store later in the day and was greeted warmly by the staff personnel that answered the phone. I explained the situation and was transferred to the owner who was in-store working (apparently working along side his staff as I could overhear the staff personnel that answered the phone clearly explain the situation to the owner prior to handing the over my call). The owner got on the phone, immediately apologized for the issue, and offered to deliver the missed item himself within 15 minutes (we live about a mile away). As stated, he arrived in less than 15 minutes with the missed item and apologize again. Over the last several years, we have enjoyed Cold Stone during long walks or after the movies. The availability of delivery, friendly staff, and the owner's quick response to resolve issues, ensures that we will continue to enjoy Cold Stone. Thank you. Every time I've been here the place was swamped and the staff never seemed in much of a hurry to get everyone through. The layout is cramped, its almost always sweltering inside (even in winter), and there's not enough space to sit so you always have to take it to go. But the ice cream is delicious and it's fun getting to make your own crazy combinations of stuff. read more
