One of the things I love most about Cold Stone is the texture of the ice cream after they mix in the add-ins. Unlike other ice cream shops, I don't have to wait for it to soften or start melting, it's perfectly creamy from the first bite, and you can taste every flavor. Right now they have an Oreo-Reese collab featuring a couple of pre-selected creations, and I highly recommend giving them a try. You really can't go wrong with two classic favorites coming together! A special shout-out to Amelia, who was incredibly patient while taking a large number of orders. She was friendly, efficient, and made the experience enjoyable. I have a loyalty account at Cold Stone. Cold Stone recently sent out a "save $3.00 off of a $10.00 purchase", so we stopped in after going to a movie in the same shopping plaza. I had an insulated bag and an ice pack with me to keep the ice cream reasonably frozen on the ride home. I got a mixed container, 1/2 with coffee ice cream with mini chocolate chips mixed in and 1/2 with French vanilla ice cream with brownie mixed in. We each had a couple of delicious spoonfuls when we got home as at a perfect consistency, before putting it in the freezer. Cold Stone is not nearby, but is worth it once in awhile to make the trip. read more

I walked in and the sweet aroma of moth balls hit me right in the sphincter. TEENAGERS EVERYWHERE- Gerard way would hate this. Old miserable cucks everywhere, screaming. I almost had a grand mal while waiting in line because the strobe lights coming from the rafters. The guy behind the counter was uncomfortable and homophobic, he thought my friend was weird and she may be but we love her for it. She just wanted to inquire about a milkshake and he was not having one bit of it. Get over it sir. The icecream was subpar and I couldn't enjoy it over the soft lul of the freezer caressing my ear and the teenagers going absolutely buck wild behind me. I took my family to this location tonight and several of the young women working at this store were so incredibly rude. From eyerolls, to slamming tools down and walking away as my family tried to order. I have never experienced such a horrible display of customer service. I ordered 3 medium cups of icecream. Two were typical size. One of the cups wasn't even filled halfway up the cup. It was a teachable moment to my very young children of how you do not treat customers. The moment you walk in the store it smells horribly like someone used a mildew mop to clean. As if this wasn't enough, the front trash receptacle was visibly overflowing and a major eyesore especially for this area. I came here on Sunday evening while wanting some ice cream and being in the Orchard Park area. This location is a good size, has plenty of seating, and the employee working was friendly and and let us try a few flavours before ordering. I ended up going with the chocolate chocolate chip and mint ice cream in a waffle bowl (the waffle bowl made me order it honestly). I used to think Cold Stone was overpriced but it actually wasn't bad at all, my 2 scoop ice cream, waffle bowl, and a regular small cup came to about $10 (nothing worth complaining about). GUESS WHAT???!!??? WNY actually STILL has a Cold Stone!! WHO KNEW!!?? I only knew from seeing a couple check-ins come through my Yelp feed. We aren't in the Orchard Park area extremely often, but when we were down that way recently, our fam' stopped in. It is tucked in a plaza area with several buildings, so a bit tricky to weave to if you're not familiar with the area, but once you find it there is plenty of parking. The customer service on the night we visited was STELLAR!! The line stayed busy, but the young women working the counter kept it moving and were very friendly. I had some pretty specific requests to for our vegan daughter's selection (one sorbet with strawberries mixed in, the other sorbet with pineapples mixed in, not mixed together, chocolate sprinkles on top), and the girl who put it all together for me was completely chipper with each of my demands. :-D All of the items we picked were tasty and BIG; they were not skimpy scoopers here!! I haven't been to a Cold Stone in several years, and this location has all of the bountiful flavors and toppings choices I remember. There were at least 20 flavors, mostly ice cream with a few frozen yogurts and sorbets, and a long case of just about every popular candy or fruit mix-in you could be craving. First time at this location. They seem to be the only Cold Stone in the area where you can sign up for a rewards / marketing program. I got a BOGO coupon in my email for my birthday and happened to be in the area on my birthday so I stopped in and used it. I went in shortly before closing, it was very quiet in there and we decided to take our ice cream and enjoy them outside at a picnic table. It was a really nice night out in early June. read more

I love the fact that they have a mini size. The food is super tasty. Very very very good quality cream. However they got my order incorrect. Which was a disappointment. It wasn't anything major they just changed the toppings but it was not what I ordered so they got a four instead of a five. I would definitely give this place I'll try again if I can get the time. I call this place the Stale Cone Creamery. OK, so maybe they don't have stale cones, but it is still the last place I would ever, ever get ice cream. It's tragic that everyone thinks Cold Stone is just soooo great because to be honest, the ice cream here is terrible. The gimmick which gets all the sales is that they make all this fancy dancy stuff happen to your ice cream and put all this excessive (cheap, crap) stuff on it to make it look like something other than ice cream. Meanwhile all the real family owned home made ice cream places go out of business and this place just keeps multiplying, advertising, and moving in to all the college campuses and shopping malls. Ugh. I was forced to come here by some college kids (isn't that who goes here), and did not like it at all. This was actually just a few months ago. Ugh. I should mention, I only rate national and global chains on a scale of 1-2. I rate family businesses on a scale of 3-5. Here is why: Would you rather support the local family ice cream shop, or the multi national corporations and the rich men on yachts in the Carribbean? Why are the parking lots of the awesome local places usually half empty (or completely empty)? Why are the national and international ice cream chains always so busy? Why can they afford to open so late and get all the TV advertising and all the prime intersection locations? Why are they taking over all the malls and college campuses? Why go and support Cold Stone, Baskin Robbins, and so on? These places have systematically and coldly taken over the national ice cream scene by using cheap ingredients, pre-packaged frozen systematic snacks that are identical across the nation, overrated products, overpricing for everything, often rude underpaid servers, and a ridiculously expensive mass brand advertising campaign that gets inside the heads of all the kids and the 20somethings and keeps them under the illusion that if it's not a brand name, it's not worth visiting. They spend all the money they should be investing in good ice cream and food and service, in advertising and cornering the market - the local places can't compete - and someday all we will be left with is the same chains serving the same drinks all over the world. That is our future. It's the way we're heading and you know it. Every time you eat at a bland national chain, you buy into that, you support that. Boycott chains. Support your local places. It's an embarrassment that generic brand national chains are even listed on a proper foodie website like Yelp, let alone getting 4 and 5 stars from so called foodies. Wake up, America, before we're all just batteries in the matrix. read more
