I ordered some gluten free cupcakes for my wedding party. I chose chocolate and almond. They were a hit and everyone loved them. Ordering was easy and there were a ton of options to choose from. I couldn't eat them due to dietary restrictions but they looked wonderful. I appreciated that the woman on the phone made ordering and pick up a breeze. Sweet pea bakery is located on Lake Street in the village of Hamburg. I had never been in before, but I was at the Hope Bridge collaborative boutique thrift store located across the street and I walked over. The atmosphere is clean and inviting it smells delicious. They have not only pastries but soups and sandwiches. It is well appointed the staff is friendly. the food was delicious. I'm giving 4 stars to this bakery for the wonderful gluten free options. However, it is very overpriced for regular bakery items. I stopped in and was surprised at the amount of gluten free selections. We definitely recommend the gluten free cupcakes and the cookies. Frosting and texture was excellent. I got a gluten free raspberry cupcake and marble cupcake. Also a gluten free frosted cookie with sprinkles THAT WAS THE BEST COOKIE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!! The regular cupcakes were good, but they were very small for almost $3 per cupcake. No fancy flavors - Just chocolate and vanilla. The cupcakes literally look like the ones I make at home with a $1 cake mix. I would never get them again for that price. If they were nice big cupcakes or some neat flavors - I would reconsider. They picture some really cool flavored ones on their Yelp - but they only had chocolate and vanilla when I was there. They sell gluten free bagels and bread (in the freezer) - which we will probably try. They had gluten free parfaits that looked amazing. The bakery has a nice seating area as well which looked nice. Overall, I would highly recommend for people who need gluten free. Not for other bakery purchases - make them yourself or go to BJs for less than half the price. I spent almost $20 on 6 cupcakes . $34 total for 6 cupcakes and 6 cookies and 1 gluten free cookie. Service =excellent. Very friendly and helpful. read more

Sweet Pea did a great job catering our September wedding at the Marcy Casino. They offered a nice little tasting beforehand in their bakery so we could try their different flavors. They accommodate all kinds of dietary restrictions and allergies. The gluten free and vegan options were very tasty. We had cookies, cupcakes, cake, and cake pops. I purchased a cake for my granddaughter's birthday. while in Hamburg, NY; Chocolate with chocolate frosting. I wanted it to be special. It was not. The cake was not good. It was dry and not mixed well. There were lumps of flour inside and tasted like it was missing ingredients. It was flavorless. I did notify them. Hopefully they know they need to do better. I recommend trying a different bakery. When I tried to leave a review on Facebook, the review would not post. YUCK. In their favor, the cake was decorated very nicely and my younger granddaughter wanted to eat all the frosting. Everyone left half their piece of cake on their plate. read more

We ordered the gluten-free placek for Christmas this year. I wasn't expecting much because even before I had to eat gluten free I had eaten some pretty bad placek but boy was I surprised. It was so delicious. It was sweet and buttery, not too crumbly and it had raisins in it...YUMMY! In fact, I just had some for breakfast. It was just as good today as it was yesterday. Next time someone looks at me and says in a winey condescending voice "we don't eat gluten-free" I will think of this placek and simply look at them and say well that's too bad! The gluten-free baked goods from this bakery are delicious. The only drawback about this place is it is all the way out in Hamburg. My mom and I love cake. Ordering this cake for my 16th birthday party I was expecting a little more for what we got for $72. I wanted a simple two tier cake. And explaining how we wanted it even showing pictures and multiple other examples what we got was completely different. It was a shotty fake gold almost orange color completely opposite to what I had asked for. When asked about it they seemed unbothered by the fact that it was not what was explained to us. it wouldnt have been such a big problem but considering when we got home to actually eat the cake it was dry and very little frosting, it seemed that they had made the cake days before. Got married mid-October, 2017. I was told about the Sweet Pea Bakery in Hamburg, NY - had never heard of them before. We went over & taste tested - uummmmmm! Ordered five different kinds of her cupcakes including vegan, and a cutting cake. Our guests just raved about their cupcakes! I am not kidding. One person told me three separate times how great they were. I particularly love their chocolate peanutbutter, but she has a buttery yellow/white cake (not sure which it is) and you can put any frosting on it and it is incredible. But, the cutting cake, a white almond cake, was to die for. Should have ordered two layers. We will be back shortly for another. Audrey's frosting is perfect. Go test for yourself. The wedding colors were pink and silver/gray. They put silver and/or pink very little candy balls on the cupcakes and it just made them look so special. Thanks Audrey! I love this place. The frittatas are awesome. The dining room is pretty. They have quite a few gluten free options and a pretty large menu for a bakery. Their coffee is great, definitely better than my usual Tim Hortons. The desserts are good but I was too full after my frittata to eat more than a bite of my cupcake. I would've given this place 5 stars but I think that they need to advertise their menu more and not make it seem like they are only a bakery. In my opinion, the menu items are better than the baked goods. I'm usually not one for sweets at all though so I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed my cupcake. read more
